Atkins Hall is a beautiful building, however River Towers is often mistaken for it leading to many a confused tourist and delivery drivers. We should highlight however, that both are residential properties and not tourist attractions. From reports we have heard from current residents, it is hard to heat due to high ceilings and in the same fashion as the surrounding complexes, is not accessible by public transport, with the nearest bus stop being a 15 minute walk away.

This place is really really awesome living in a castle kinda while the place is really cool and the design the walls are still no properly polished and there is a lot of dust coming down from the walls making the place non breathable also a lot of moisture inside no proper ventilation and the windows are always steamy and water is coming down from the windows on the walls and than the floor not a nice sight but overall a nice place to stay also please note this place was a mental house if you’re not scared of the ghost go for it 😅😂

It's okay... Beautiful from outside, but the house management is unable to fix the roof of the apartments since 7 years, so everyone living here needs to be afraid of any rain...

While the apartament that we stayed in was beautifly designed, everything fresh, untouched, new, well thought, well designed, we could not stand the cold due to badly designed heating. The heaters are way too small to heat up such big rooms to give normal temperature, not to mention nice temperature, they are also badly designed and placed in wrong spots (opposite side of window, not directly under the window) so even if there is a weak heat wave from the radiator, the cold air from the window is killing the entire effect. I know this is a historical building, but there is a way to put the right size radiators under the gigantic windows. Our entire stay the temperature was about 14 to 16 degrees. We asked many times for improving the situation, but nothing could be done and we suffered the entire stay in extreme cold. We came in autumn, cannot image how to spend winter there. Even though the interior is so well designed, because of the cold we would never do that ourselves again and I am not happy to say it. The bus stop is so far - at least 20 minutes walking. I would suggest charter to the city center. The staff were really trying to help and that's a big plus.

Its a beautiful place to visit and seeing the city especially at night. The history of this place is not good, for the people who were placed in here, when it was a hospital, but it looks so different now as an apartment complex, it's nice to see an old building brought back to life

Lovely apartments, beautiful views. @Paul- thank you for showing me the apartments on Friday. I did not save your number and the daft.ie Ad is down now- so I had no way to contact you! I have somewhere for the next few months but I will be keeping an eye out for the places you showed me on Friday! I hope that is ok, they look great. Thanks, Sarah

Although it is a place that doesn't appear in the guides, it is one of my favourites in Cork. One of the longest building in Ireland. It was a psychiatric hospital in the past, now it is splitted in apartments. One part of the building got burnt a few years ago.
