I
often
ride
past
Electric
on
my
way
home,
and
because
of
its
interesting
building
style,
busy
nights,
and
good
music
coming
from
the
inside,
I
always
wanted
to
try
it
both
for
cocktails
and
food
as
well.
Hence
I
booked
this
dinner
for
a
birthday
and
I
have
to
say
I
was
left
quite
disappointed.
Going
in
and
being
escorted
to
our
table
was
no
problem
at
all,
as
a
member
of
staff
welcomed
us
immediately.
The
problems
started
after
our
first
order
of
water.
My
partner
asked
for
a
bottle
of
sparkling
water
as
soon
as
we
sat
down
after
the
waiter
asked,
and
the
water
only
arrived
halfway
through
eating
our
food,
having
asked
3
additional
times
on
top
of
the
first
one.
When
we
ordered
the
food,
we
made
some
alterations
to
the
main
dish
sides,
such
as
replacing
the
rustic
potatoes
of
the
duck
with
chips
and
the
wagyu
steak
to
be
brought
with
rice.
The
dishes
came
with
rustic
potatoes,
chips,
and
rice.
On
top
of
that,
things
were
missing
from
the
dishes,
such
as
the
mushrooms
on
the
wagyu
and
other
sides
included
in
the
main
dish's
descriptions.
My
partner
received
a
steak
with
potatoes,
chips,
and
rice
(nothing
else)
and
I
received
a
duck
with
potatoes
and
chips,
leaving
the
main
courses
quite
bland
and
a
blend
of
side
carbohydrate
dishes.
On
top
of
that,
neither
of
us
was
given
a
steak
knife,
making
it
very
difficult
to
cut
both
the
steak
and
the
duck.
The
last
criticism
of
the
staff
is
that
we
were
serviced
by
three
different
staff
members,
instead
of
one
designated
to
us,
who
did
not
seem
to
co-ordinate
our
order
at
all.
Two
of
the
ladies
seemed
quite
confused
as
we
were
ordering
and
did
not
know
how
to
answer
our
questions
exactly.
In
terms
of
flavors,
the
glazing
on
the
duck
was
tasty,
but
the
duck
skin
was
soft
and
the
inside
was
overcooked,
making
the
duck
dry.
Duck
is
meant
to
be
crispy
on
the
outside
and
medium
on
the
inside,
allowing
it
to
maintain
its
juiciness.
The
steak
was
unremarkable.
We
also
ordered
a
dessert
each.
The
pineapple
fritter
was
drenched
in
oil,
and
the
pineapple
was
canned
with
no
taste
of
fruit
whatsoever.
My
partner
got
slightly
nauseous
after
one
bite
as
she
is
sensitive
to
a
strong
fry
taste.
The
creme
brulee
was
satisfactory
and
I
enjoyed
it.
Overall,
the
lack
of
coordination
of
the
staff,
confusion
with
the
order,
and
bland
and
unremarkable
cooking
of
the
food
did
not
justify
the
incredibly
expensive
price
of
the
restaurant.
Other
restaurants
in
Cork
offer
much
more
unique
and
a
refined
cuisine
at
a
lesser
price.
On
a
positive
note,
the
cocktails
were
good
and
I
would
return
to
the
bar
area
downstairs
for
drinks,
especially
since
booking
the
large
table
downstairs
for
an
event
seems
like
a
fun
idea.
Another
positive
comment
is
that
I
had
included
a
note
in
my
booking
for
a
special
request,
that
was
read
and
granted
with
no
hassle.
Besides
the
staff's
confusion
and
incompetence,
they
were
all
very
pleasant
and
friendly
which
made
the
experience
smoother.
I
do
not
mean
for
this
review
to
be
overly
critical,
I
just
think
it
is
a
shame
to
not
optimize
the
cuisine
and
staff's
performance,
as
Electric
has
the
potential
to
be
one
of
Cork
city's
main
night-out
attractions
both
for
food
and
also
drinks.
