Hidden gem most locals keep for themselves. Covered outdoor area kept a driving rain away. Fresh pizzas and pints brewed on site make The Fran Well an authentic Irish drinking spot, boy.

One of the best beer joints in Cork. With some history and a great lay out too! Friendly staff who know what they’re talking about when it comes to beer. They have all of Franciscan Well offerings, along with a few of other rotating brews from other breweries. There is also a full bar. There is a great open space in the back that is outdoors with some roofing, and a pizza operation that makes delicious pies. One of my favorite spots in Cork.

The Franciscan Well is always a delight to visit be it on a week day or at the weekend! The bar has its own brewery supplying the wide variety of beers, stout and cider. They also offer a number of outside berweries offerings and change it up every so often so that there is always something new on the drinks menu to accompany their own offerings! The staff are very friendly here and they are helpful when choosing a drink! If you are unsure that can offer a small taster! Main Bar: The front bar is cosy and is furnished with all wooden furnature and is located on the ground floor as you come up the alley from the main steet. The bar counter is also located here and there are a number of snugs dotted throughout this space! Beer Garden: There is a larger beer garden to the rear of the bar and it is covered! This section is where most of the bar's seating is located as well as Pompeii Pizza! During the summer this area is decorated with an abundance of flowers hanging from the walls and the ceiling making it really beautiful! There is heaters and a stove, which I recently noticed, in the beer garden as well so even during the colder months it is still a welcoming area no matter the time of year! On another recent visit I did notice that there are 2 tv screens located in the beer garden area but thankfully there were not turned on. To be honest I never noticed them before! I hope most people that come to the Fran Well go there to coverse with friends and not watch tv instead, there are a million other bars catering to that! Food: Pompeii Pizza located in the beer garden is a little gem and they offer a variety of delicious freshly made to order pizzas! They will give you a buzzer so you can return to your table while you wait. Nothing better and few beers and fresh pizza! So if a small craft brewery type of bar is what you are looking for then I suggest taking the time to make a trip to the Franciscan Well is at the top of your list! Note: On the night I was here last a Jazz band showed up and started playing really good music in the front bar. It was a nice surprise as I was not aware that bands played here! Update: Live music is definitely played here as I called in for a drink with my partner and they was two musicians playing in the beer garden.

I ate and drank here with my son on a visit to Cork, taking advantage of the possibility of ordering pizza from the Pompeii pizzeria just next door. Nice selection of beers and great overall atmosphere, with live Irish music.

Best place for beer and pizzas, bar atmosphere is great for a group, couples or just yourself. Pizzas are freshly made, quick and so tasty! Everytime someone is visiting me in Cork I go there with them!

We had an amazing experience today at Franciscan Well Brewery. We booked the guided tour and beer tasting and our guide, Fianait, was expert, good to explaining the brewing process and very kind in every moment of our tour. We could taste three different types of beer and understand how to recognize the flavors. I strongly recommend a visit here!

Great service. We had a birthday gathering here and I asked if it’s ok that we bring our own birthday cake to consume it there. Absolutely no problem they said and even offered to put it in the fridge. Great customer service. That’s why people come back ! The Italian guy who makes the pizzas was extremely friendly.

Love this place. Local micro brewery with a pizza shop out back in the large beer garden.

Well hidden at the end of the long entrance corridor this pub offers a great variety of beers and ales. Haze pale ale and Chieftain IPA are of great taste! What a shock one gets is that if he asks for food to match with his pint one is offered pizza. Hello there, pizza goes with red wine! This is a bad matching you need to reconsider.

Brilliant place - thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Flights available, so you can sample more of their great beers. Had an on-site pizza company (Pompeii) - very tasty. Bar staff were fantastic - very friendly and knowledgable about the beer. Also had great free live jazz music.

Wow, loved this hidden gem! I can’t understand why the pizza kitchen isn’t advertised outside, they make authentic Italian pizzas, flipping the pizzas in the air, open fire, wood burning oven, delicious and all very reasonably priced. We did the brewery tour, very interesting and enjoyed the 3 different types of on-site brewed beers to try. Fina, the tour guide was great, as were the very friendly bar guys. Highly recommended family friendly place

Great service at the bar and brilliant range of beer. Excellent pizza from Pompeii Pizza at the back of the pub. Nice day so we could sit outside.

This is one of my favourite pubs in Cork City. It serves fantastic drinks and the atmosphere there is reliably great. Also, their pizzeria is one of the best in the city. Many, many wonderful memories of mine have been made there. Fantastic.

A hidden gem which you might miss if you are not looking for it. A craft brewery, pub and a wood fired pizza place all in one with a cozy backdoor garden area where you can drink and eat one of their delicious pizzas with any drink of your choice.

Nice outdoor beer garden with some inside seating as well. Great pizza that only took a few minutes to prepare. Good beer including some guest beers. Highly recommended.

Fabulous beer garden in Cork city. Great selection of beers and really good pizzas to go with them! Very decently priced, friendly staff, and a beautiful back garden. The quattro fromaggi and the Nduja are great pizzas if you’re undecided!

I just want to compliment the incredible customer service the Franciscan's Well team are providing! I ordered some of their products on Deliveroo and I ran into some issues with that company, however, the staff at FranWell reached out to me and were so kind. I was seriously impressed and can't wait to get back there in person again soon for a delicious pizza and some of the best beer in town. Thanks again!

Beautiful garden-like atmosphere with amazing brews! Their stout, wiess, red and lager house beers were some of the best beers we've had, ever.

Sunday, 10th October. Mildly crowded for 4pm on a Sunday but it was good! Stout was not fresh/good. Disappointing! Should have went for a Pumpkin beer instead! On the right, The Pumpkin Brew from Trouble Brewing was pretty good for a seasonal beer. Did not taste of pumpkin as in the way you think it would but pretty good and drinkable. On the left, the Ottarbar Mates Rates was very interesting. Tart as it's described online but then it ends with a nice refreshing taste. Very very nice! Inviting you to drink some and then drink some more! Dingle Gin and Fevertree Elderflower tonic in a crystal glass with ice and orange slices. Very nice!

Delish beers and pizzas. My favourite beer would the Rebel Red and Chieftain. Vegan pizza with Jackfruit was great, but I wasn’t sure about the vegan cheese on it, I would maybe skip it the next time. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Tour of the brewing process was nice too.

We held the afters for our wedding here last week and it was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to drop off our cakes and set up some decorations beforehand, and arranged pizza and beer tabs for our guests when we arrived. The flowers in the beer garden were beautiful and made the perfect background for our photos. Everyone had a wonderful time and it was a very relaxed and casual event. I would highly recommend Fran Well for any event. 10/10 Thank you so much!
