A must for anyone who likes a great tasting beer in a bar with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The Nicholas Cage Loos look class too🍻👌🏼

Very friend staff, the owner is a very interesting and special character, wearing funny and unique shirts. He is also a huge fan of Nicolas Cage and he’s made it clear with the toilet decorations. Worth checking out!

Dog friendly! Small pub with Nicholas cage themed bathrooms. Friendly staff and regular events are held such as pub quizzes. All beer available is some sort of craft or unique beer. You won't find an everyday beer like Heineken here, but you can have imported Japanese beer named Ichiban. Or some local beer like Cotton Ball.

This pub takes you back in time when you first walk in. From the basement bathrooms to the 200+ year old decor it feels like you are family right away. This is a craft beer only bar where they even have their own brewed just for them and only served here called the kegs benedict! I can imagine a cold wintery night this place would be a cozy place to have a drink by the fire.

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Great selection of craft beers and even a tasty gluten free stout. The owner is a great guy who is chatty but not invasive. Bathrooms are always clean considering it's an old building. The place always manages to be busy enough even mid afternoon. My only complaint is that they're not open early on Saturdays and sundays for a nice afternoon pint. We love the brazilian Sunday events that they do with lovely food and drink. Definitely recommend if you like a mixed cultural atmosphere with friendly locals.

We went in for a drink after work. It is an excellent place: cosy and with a good atmosphere! There is a good selection of craft beers, but the cider was amazing :) The owner of the place is very welcoming and friendly. I will definitely go back!

Spent a month in Cork and the Friary is easily the friendliest place in town! Great events, wonderful and welcoming staff, and friendly regulars make for a perfect place to enjoy a game night with new friends. Can't recommend it enough!

My favourite spot in Cork. Unique, safe, inviting and great selection of pints on tap for a small bar. Mike, Ellen, Dai and all the staff are absolute gems and create such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. If you are looking for a spot with character, good craic, that's welcoming and has a great culture of warmth and clientele with openness for chats, I highly recommend! There is seating at the bar, window seats, out the front and upstairs so you can always find a spot thats somewhere that suits you. Whether it's a chat at the bar or a cosy spot to have a catch up or a board game with friends. If you are a woman/femme that likes to go for a drink on your own the odd time this is also the spot for you. Very queer friendly space and as a woman I have never been bothered or made feel uncomfortable there, which is something I have never managed to find consistently in other bars. Regular creative events and fundraisers, and have been so helpful in hosting fundraisers and a space for meetings for activist groups I have been involved with. Literally can't talk more highly about this spot.

Dai is the man. His knowledge of whiskey and hops was the highlight of our trip to cork. Don’t sleep on curry corner either!!

They have a good selection of draught pints. The pub is a bit sloppy/shabby. There are random pictures of Nicolas cage without much sense but everyone told me here there is good fun during quiz night. Probably is a good place for locals, as a tourist is not a "must to be" place for sure

Nicholas Cage themed bar. Extremely friendly, welcoming staff and locals. Good range of beers, with staff happy to help your choice through their knowledge and samples. Would definitely return.

The Best Pub in Cork, Chill Vibes, Great Atmosphere and Tasty Tasty Pints. The Bar Staff are the Friendliest to be found in Cork and Mike is an Absolute Gentleman. All the Beers here are Independent Brews and there is a Range to suit All Tastes which Rotates regularly. The more Uncharitable might call this bar Small or Snug, but it has Big Character and is the Perfect Place for a few Gentle Pints in an Intimate Setting. A Real Community. P. S. Beware the Wicked Wednesday Quiz.

My girlfriend and I happened to bumble in here on pub trivia night (Wednesday), which was great fun. The unique decor is cozy old tavern filtered through a teenage boy's bedroom, I'm glad i didn't encounter any crusty socks, but I'm not sure if I'd have been surprised if I did. Good selection of liquor as well as a fanatical devotion to the master thespian, Sir Nicolas Coppola. Great Craic!

Tiny pub, very cluttered and scruffy but seems to be popular despite this. Good selection of artisan beer. Helpful staff. Would be fabulous if they tidied it up a bit!!

Amazing bar, even better staff! Cute and cosy place for a quiet night or for a bit of fun at an event! A true gem of a bar

Beautiful bar with a fantastic bunch of staff, an iconic owner, and one of the most friendly groups of regulars you'll ever come across. Great craft beers, if in doubt, ask the staff, they all know their stuff. One of the safest spaces for the LGBTQ+ in Cork, can't recommend it enough.

This is, put simply, the best pub in Cork. The selection of craft beers and sours from Ireland and beyond is astonishingly comprehensive, the staff are highly knowledgeable and friendly, and the vibes are just perfect. Cheerful, diverse crowd of regulars and tourists alike. I felt welcomed as a queer woman, and the programme of community events is excellent.

The best bar in Cork. John and his team are wonderful people. Alone with friends or even family you will be marked and come out with The Friary smile.

This is truly the best and most uniquely quirky community pub in Cork City. Mike creates an amazing atmosphere with regular events and homey welcoming feeling. The people here are a big family and if you are new in the city this is best place to go and meet friends. I consider this pub as a representation for the true spirit of Cork City!

Incredible bar to the glory of Nicolas Cage, a real delirium (ノ^_^)ノ The staff is really nice, the gin cocktails are cool even if they would deserve to renew from time to time. On the other hand it's a small bar so large group refrain. Special mention for the baby Guinness which regaled us!

Absolutely love the Friary. Mike, Ellen, Dai, and Matt are absolutely fantastic. Such a warm and welcoming pub where you can be yourself. Fair play to them all and the community they’re building. ❤️

Very dirty with lots of real cobwebs on the windows. They have lots of board games available. Very good value on drinks prices.

Nice place and crafts beers with good value for money as prices below average for craft alcohol Check out the toilet art featuring art work from Nicholas cage ..... Great quiz on Wednesday nights but expect to be challenged
