Wow! The best authentic Mexican food I have had. The slow cooked birria beef tacos dunked in the sauce made my mouth water constantly. Flavors excite every taste tastebud on your tongue for full flavor. The atmosphere is cozy, classic rock style.

Really Unique Spot in the city centre, The food (Mexican inspired) was excellent & filling, the menu is short and kept simple, definitely value for money! Great place for drinks and food, nice atmosphere, security on the door are very nice as well as the staff. I’ll certainly be back.

Excellent Mexican food with meats cooked in a BBQ/ Kamado Joe, so tasty! Also the best Cork city spot for some late drinks and rock music with an lovely custom Tony Hatchett sound system

Amazing atmosphere, delicious food and the staff are so friendly! On a night out, this place is a must. May have done damage to my bank account but that is because we always have a great time here lol. Cheers for a great night!

Possibly the best bouncer I’ve ever come across. He really made sure everyone was safe and having a good, not an easy job by any means so just a shout out to say thank you ☺️

We booked a table with friends for a birthday and specified we were 10. We got moved upon arrival at the restaurant as there was a double booking, until a larger table was free. We then got told we could go back to the original table of the booking, to which we moved. Later on a member of staff came to tell us we moved without their permission. We explained the situation and the staff quickly escalated and did not own to their mistake. The way the staff handled the situation and the tone used was deeply unprofessional. Mistakes are understandable but I really don’t get how you can talk to people in that way, working in hospitality. Good food but terrible service. I clearly don’t recommend unless you want to be treated like a lesser person…

great service, nice venue to relax, but i can't understand the toilets. there is mixed toilets with only two cubicles and the two cubicles locks are broken off, why didn't they fixed the toilet locks when opening the pub that night. very uncomfortable for men and women. very strange

Nice rock music, mediocre cocktails at best. Steer clear of the deja brew, overpriced and miniscule

It's a good bar, but I didn't feel very safe in the bathrooms. The girls bathroom has been made gender neutral in recent years, which I'm all for, but the two toilets in there don't actually lock and it makes me feel very unsafe. I usually just end up going into the vicarstown to use their bathrooms instead!

Unfortunately I do not like people being rude and dishonest to customer. I have been their many time and it went good but today was too much. Clearly those people do not know how to manage their booking and calling clients liars coming to shout at us with attitude while it seems to be a misunderstanding on their side ? Please be professional and talk to your client nicely. At the end we all got tense and got into an argument with the staff in front of everyone… embarrassing. No gesture from the black dog in our favor and upon leaving, we still felt like we were seen as liars. We left and I will not trust this place again. Too bad because the food is amazing.

Never coming back!!! We got yelled by the staff at this place. I have never been treated like this in other place in Ireland or any other country. They mixed up reservations and lied to my face saying they told me not the to sit in the table I booked, thing that never happened. I called 5 days before to booked that and asked for this table specifically and they confirmed to me over the phone. In addition our order was incomplete, my birthday celebration was ruined. The staff had an awful communication between each other and they were lying and not taking responsibility of the mistake. I definitely would’ve understood that there was a mistake if they would’ve treated us with minimum respect. Don’t come to this place if you expect to have a good time with friends.

The interior reminded me of my 80s Punk roots. We were there in the afternoon for a cider, but we heard the place gets packed at night. BDSM shares a really nice beer garden with The Vicarstown Bar.

Features the Rising Son brewery selection, photo booth and heated outdoor courtyard (fairly compact, but larger to the vicarstown). Two bars in one. Usually plays mainstream rock or metal music

Great place for drinks and a nibble. The cockatials are fantastic but expensive, so is some of the food but great quality. Good place to go for fun with friends wouldn't recommend inside the bar for convo the music can be so loud you cant hear eachother speaking outdoor area for that more so. Otherwise it's my favourite bar in cork staff are all lovely.

Cool bar, friendly staff and interesting crowds. Music choice is metal and rock, great for a few pints. Cocktails are also unreal and at a really cheap price for the work that goes into them

Updating my review, as I just visited it recently and must admit I'm a bit disappointed with the new layout. Especially of the back area. It was always a good spot to come with friends, but some of them smoke, so the new no smoking rule, has kind of been a turn off for them and me included. However for people who want to avoid that scene its a perfect social spot and the tapas look great ( haven't tried admittedly). Not my kind of spot anyways, prob won't be back
