By far my favourite hotel I've been to. It's so stunning and the views from the restaurant, especially at night, are amazing. The staff were what really made it for us. So friendly and helpful. They all seemed so happy doing what they were doing and that make a huge difference. Well done to all. I'll be raving about ye and the hotel for the foreseeable. And I'll definitely be back. Soon hopefully! 🙏

I've been to this hotel before and all went well but not for my parents. We bought my parents a weekend away at the Montenotte for Xmas, the first break away they have had for at least 2 years due to covid but it didn't go well. WC in the ensuite was broken, hotel said they couldn't fix it until next day. It didn't get fixed. My parents complained and requested they be moved to another room, this became difficult also as it seemed the hotel was fully booked. This is understandable but if there are no spare rooms available, the hotel should ensure that issues with the rooms get dealt with in a swift and courteous manner. Reception staff were not very helpful but eventually they were moved to an Executive room and the reception seemed to think this upgrade should fix the ruined weekend. Thing is, even moving rooms during a small break is frustrating. This hotel needs to understand that little things that go wrong are big things to customers sometimes and can ruin their experience. Disappointing.

Had a spa day at the hotel as a couple , spa was fabulous and our therapists (Karen & Maria) were lovely ladies. We decided to have some food in bar after, which completely ruined our lovely day, we waited 30 mins for 1 dish to come, with no cutlery, 3 different waiters went to check out where the 2nd dish was and never returned, it was on the 3rd time we walked out. Lots of very friendly staff, but training is obviously a big issue. Very disappointing for a lovely hotel.

Great rooms and an amazing view of downtown cork. Clean, comfortable beds, and well equipped bathrooms. Fantastic service as well. Everyone was so hospitable, especially Ken! The restaurant was also excellent. Wonderful food and coffee. The Montenotte Hotel served as our home base for 5 days while we explored cork, the Cliffs of moher, blarney castle, and a few distilleries. When we return to Cork, we will be staying here again. No complaints. 10/10.

This was my second time visiting and it was an amazing experience. The service is brilliant and the staff were so friendly. Great food and a fantastic atmosphere in the cocktail bar with a brilliant jazz band and our server Jake was so helpful. I highly recommend visiting the spa during your visit. The ladies in there were amazing especially Daniela who made the whole day so enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Cork.

Pros: Martin is a real asset to the team, he was kind, chatty, welcoming, friendly & really upbeat! Bistro has great food & amazing views. The cinema is unique a great idea, we enjoyed! Cons: Old hotel, initially the hotel looks great from photos and the entrance & reception is fully refurbished but as soon as you leave this area the hotel is tired & dated. Attempts have been made to freshen it up but rooms need a complete refurbishment. Rooms very dissapointing, old bathrooms, dirty grouting, old furniture (dresser & wardrobe) old dusty rads, scuffed paintwork, old connecting doors between rooms. They’ve done the bare minimum so that hotel appears new and fresh in photos, but in real life it is a disappointment. Room was very dusty! Pool area ceiling in disrepair

Fantastic hotel. Everything was amazing from the food to the drinks. I have to mention the staff, everywhere we went the bar to the restaurant, the multiple staff we had looking after us were all amazing and friendly.

What a stunning hotel. The decor is absolutely beautiful….funky but classy. The scent in the reception area was so warm and inviting too☺️. The staff were fantastic, so professional and friendly, providing 5* service. The Glass House is an amazing feature in the hotel…..I felt like I was in London! Dinner and breakfast were delicious; everything so fresh and tasty. We didn’t get to experience the Cameo Cinema, but will no doubt be back again, so will put it on the list for next time! It really is a hidden gem in Cork. Would 100% recommend. Gemma

High-class hotel. very nice and professional service. The rooms are clean and beautifully equipped. The welcome card was a nice surprise. The spa was a nice addition to the relaxation. You don't have to take a towel with you, you will get everything on site. The food was delicious, there was live music in the evening. Many options to spend the evenings, a restaurant, a terrace with a wonderful view or a separate bar with music. There are interesting paintings in the corridors, all the furnishings are tasteful, beautiful bouquets of live flowers are a beautiful addition, they make a truly amazing impression. Breakfast offers plenty of choice for everyone. This is a hotel worth returning to!

Staff were very nice, very welcoming and very helpful. The hotel itself is expensive but very nice. The room was great and it had a very comfortable bed. I would have loved if it had a mini bar, clean and spacious considering its an older building. It has a nice pool, small gym, a sauna and they have a steam room and a jacuzzi. The only downside was the food in the restaurant. It was overpriced but the quality didn't reflect the cost, bland food and small portions. Breakfast was nice with a good selection of stuff. Great stay over all. We enjoyed our time there.

In a world largely devoid of customer service, the Montenotte in Cork is a rare exception. Every member of staff was warm, pleasant, and friendly. This was especially true in the restaurant and bars. The staff, which comes from a variety of countries, were so attentive, accommodating, and nice. This doesn’t happen by accident. Clearly, management makes a concerted effort to instill this service spirit among staff. Bravo! We enjoyed the daily breakfasts and had a great dinner one night. Besides service, the hotel’s common areas are gorgeous. We loved all the local art scattered throughout the site. The room was adequate and comfortable although getting to our room on the 1st floor seemed a bit of an up and down labyrinth. The only downside to the room was the shower. Be extra cautious getting in and out as we slipped even with the bath mat. The new Glass House bar is not to be missed. Well crafted cocktails, a pleasant decor, and the hotel’s signature friendly staff made for a great evening. We highly recommend the Montenotte.

My partner and I stayed here for Valentine’s Day…and WOW!! From start to finish we enjoyed every second. When we arrived we were greeted by Ken with such a warm, welcoming and bubbly personality, such a credit to the hotel. Our room was just fabulous, so clean and comfortable, the glasshouse was something else from the gorgeous funky interior to tasty cocktails and friendly staff! Such an amazing getaway, I would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you so much to Ken and his team.

Amazing little boutique hotel. It’s a hidden gem in Cork. The view from the terrace is amazing, up from the mountain. At night there is live music and piano. Very romantic and chic restaurant. Even if you are not staying at the hotel it’s def worth a visit for a night out. You can also walk down to the bar.

If I could give more stars, I would. Romantic and charming with exceptional service. Food at the Panorama (awesome views) was exceptional. The lamb rump was outstanding. Rooms are well appointed and attention to detail throughout the experience.

We were sent to the wrong room on check in, waited for 30 minutes for service in the bistro, the 'poached' eggs were boiled. To top it off the morning we were leaving (check out any time before 12) we had about 3 different cleaners knock on the door. The hotel itself is lovely aesthetically and the bed is good, but everything else was really disappointing unfortunately.

My first trip to Ireland (from U.S.) stayed almost 2 weeks and in different places every 2 days. The Montenotte TOPS my list - fantastic views from expansive open patio, very cool theater on-site, the eccentric decor was so awesome, their lounge building (the Glass Room ) had really great live music. And then. On top of all that -- that Staff. If Ken meets you at the door, you have begun your stay in great hands. Every staff person was exceptional there. The morning breakfasts were something to look forward to with those smiling , capable staff who absolutely seemed to enjoy their work and were on top of everything. And the Glass House bartender Sean was just fantastic. The people of Ireland are a unique breed of charming for sure, but in terms of staff who are excellent while making you enjoy every interaction with them, pampered yet engaged as partners in your day, the Montenotte is THE BEST at it!

This a fabulous hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay while we visited Cork. A drink on the terrace as the sun goes down is just a stunning way to end the day. The food is fantastic. The beds are comfy and the staff friendly and helpful. I found our boutique room a little small for the price but we would definitely return.

I stayed here with 3 girlfriends. We had a fantastic experience and wish we could have stayed longer! Their breakfast buffet was fantastic with many tasty options. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed drinks at the Glasshouse bar and dinner in the bar next to the lobby. We walked to the local pub to catch some of the rugby game. The front desk staff was so helpful!! Hopefully we will be back again soon!!

Good parking. Nice comfortable bed. A little way out of the city sights. 25 min walk down hill then back up. Bus takes you part way back up. Excellent breakfast. Quiet. Nice views from bar terrace. Expensive overall.

I attended a Christmas function at the hotel. The hotel is one of the nicer hotels of its type that I have stayed in. Room was excellent. The food was excellent to a very good restaurant level. But the really outstanding part was the staff. Every one had a great and welcoming attitude ALL the time - really very impressive

I came here for my birthday they have a 3 course meal and a movie for 2 deal. It’s a lovely relaxed atmosphere the decor was beautiful. You come here to enjoy the atmosphere and take time to enjoy your meal. I didn’t stay however I would assume the rooms are nice if the areas I was in are anything to go by. The view from outside of cork city were beautiful I suppose the clear night added to that. It would be be on the high end for prices however what you get is worth it also it’s a lovely place for those special occasions. It would be around 5-10 min drive depending on traffic to cork Main Street.

Very unwelcoming staff telling me to wait because no one was available for luggage delivery. My apartment was not cleaned even once during my one week stay even if I requested for it. The staff seems to have absolutely no idea what customer service is. Very overpriced breakfast. Good views but the lack of public transport and walking uphill make the location very inconvenient. Would not stay again.

My husband and I recently stayed at the beautiful Montenotte on our honeymoon! This was hands down the most beautiful hotel we have ever been to. From the lovely decor, delicious food, to the luxurious bedrooms and amazing staff - every aspect of our stay was impeccable. I would travel from Boston to Cork again just to stay at the Montenotte! The food and cocktails were delicious and the live music at the Glasshouse was so romantic. Can’t say enough about this hotel and will definitely be coming back! Thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome. - Michaeleen

Ken was amazing! So service oriented and kind. The location is a BIT outside the main city which is nice because it’s quiet and the views from the hotel are top notch but you do have to take a cab back from the city. Be advised that not all rooms have ac which is probably fine the majority of the year but we were a bit warm. Overall this was an amazing hotel and we would 100% stay here again and recommend to friends and family!

Stayed for a weekend food was lovley cocktails were top quality and the view from their cozy area outside the restaurant overlooking cork city is absolutely breathtaking. Also very easy accessible for my father who suffers from mobility issues the staff went over and beyond for us. Would 100% stay again anyone whose thinking of staying take my word for it and book worth every penny.

Spectacular views of Cork city from the restaurant balcony, top class, seamless service from friendly, professional staff, excellent food (delicious '8oz Irish beef burger'!), highly recommended.

Has to be one of the best, if not the best restaurant in Cork. The view is amazing, the food is world-class. The service is excellent. There is a new cocktail bar, that is worth the visit on its own. I highly recommend dinner and cinema combination, a great night out.

Food was delicious. Views from Panorama Bar are nice. Staff were lovely. Only a few small things to knock a star off. Little details in rooms that a bit of paint wouldn’t fix and maybe a more modern bathroom. Would also suggest a ceiling light over beds as room is a bit dark . Also a sewing kit in room would be useful for emergency clothing issues

Popped in for a few drinks & was informed booking only but the place was empty. We've had our wedding there 6 years ago, spent a lot of money with ye, communions & confirmations. How disrespectful Staff were. Remember, treat local Cork people right as we're the ones who support ye when things go belly up. We will not ever step foot inside your venue again & will never recommend ye. Word of mouth is worth more than any 5 Star review.

Visited the hotel last Saturday for afternoon tea with my friend . We were very happy with our afternoon tea and after settling our bill we went out to the terrace. We bought two rounds of cocktails from the bar before leaving. We settled the bill at bar each time we bought a round. After a lovely day at the hotel, our experience quickly changed. A staff member ran through reception and shouted at us did we settle the bill. We were embarrassed as we don’t know was sitting in the reception at this time. We received no apology from the staff member. I have also emailed the hotel with details and I am yet to receive a response. I will not be returning.

Big thank you to Fabian from Spain , our server in the restaurant who was warm and made us feel very welcome . A credit to the hotel and just arrived from Spain too! Will be back . B

Just back from a fabulous stay in this hotel. The hotel is really stylish. The bars, and sun terrace area are so nice. Best breakfast choice ever but what stood out was the attentiveness of every staff member we met during our stay from start to finish. The service was 5 star! Short stroll into town. Would recommend to anyone.

I don't want to get cheesy here but this may have been the best hotel I have ever stayed in in my life. The reception, bar and restaurant staff are just incredible. It is their mission to make sure you have a good time. I even commented to my partner, it's like they are all moving in slow motion! No chaos, no hectic running around as we have had in other hotels. So calm, relaxing and the staff are very attentive. Management please take note, your staff absolutely made our trip. Keep them happy, they are amazing. Our dinner was amazing, we were waiting on expertly by Ellen who was the most attentive and kind server. Thank you, we will be back!

Check in was smooth, bellhop took our bags to our room. However when we got to our room to freshen up for dinner, the room we received (though adorably decorated) had the most non-functional shower that had no way around leaking water all over the floor. My husband went down to the front to inquire about what could be done, and they put us in a newly renovated room (That had a/c! The other one didn't!) This new room had a more functional newly remodeled shower that didn't leak water all over the place and was slightly larger as well. We appreciated the staff's easy accommodations to our request. The only downside is that the hotel is building (maybe a residence wing?) but there was loud construction noises outside our window starting pretty early in the morning. Other than that, the outdoor terrace is spectacular as is the Glass House bar. We had a quick breakfast one morning of coffee/scones and they were very good. Very cute hotel overall!

This hotel really stands out as a leader in customer service and style. The gin bar is very modern with a relaxed friendly vibe. All the staff really do go over and above to help you to enjoy your stay and it really made our stay a wonderful experience. We even forgot we told the hotel we were staying to celebrate our recent engagement when they dropped up a lovely note and treat to our room. Also the young guy at the door is excellent, very friendly and even helped when I left the lights on in the car & killed the battery. Would definitely stay again.

I went recently for Afternoon Tea with my two daughters, and had a superb experience. The service was excellent and the food was amazing-the tastiest cakes ever! As we were too full to eat everything, we were able to bring home any leftovers for the rest of the family to enjoy later. A walk around the beautiful garden was a nice way to end our happy girlie outing. Would highly recommend it.

I had a weekend at the Montenotte Hotel, we were treated so well by every staff member. So friendly and professional. The food was amazing ,the setting and views first class. We used all the facilities and had a fun time in the pool especially. Thank you so much for all the thoughtful extras . You helped make my birthday weekend very special ❤❤

My partner Barbara and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Montenotte. From the moment that we arrived, we were treated to 5 star service. The staff really could not do enough for us. Our room was beautiful, the food in the hotel was absolutely delicious and the entertainment fantastic . We really enjoyed the piano player while we had our meal on Saturday evening. The views from the back of the hotel are breath taking and I would highly recommend this hotel . We will definitely be back.

We stayed with a group for a Christmas party and I couldn't rave about this hotel more. The private room was beautiful and overlooked the city. The food was gorgeous and the staff were so attentive and lovely. It should be a 5 star hotel, its such good value for what you are getting. We will definitely stay again.

The Magnificent Montenotte ! It has been a few years since I last stayed at The Montenotte, like a fine wine this hotel only gets better with age ! We stayed last Saturday night for one night at the end of our five night Cork adventure. This hotel has a real resort vibe, there are lots of different areas that you can chill and relax there was a real nice vibe. The interior and design is interesting and unique, I loved all of the different art pieces. Our room was spacious, clean and really comfortable. In my past experience of other hotels you usually don't get that perfect mix of design and functionality, that's not the case here. Any of the team we interacted with were friendly with a genuine warmth and eagerness to help. If I'm back in Cork in the near future, I'd defiantly return.

Incredible service from the moment we arrived. We only stayed one night, but the experience was lovely. The rooms were nice and clean, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was the highlight of our stay, delectable. There was also a beautiful garden in the back with a view of the city.

We were in the Montenotte last weekend 25th - 27 th for my big birthday. It was a surprise for me and all my family and extended family were there. It was the best weekend we ever had, it is a fabulous hotel great food beautiful rooms and the most wonderful staff. Service was excellent and the staff were the most friendly nicest people we have ever met. You should be so proud of them. The views over Cork City were amazing.

From start to finish, our one night stay (Aug 2022) in The Montenotte Hotel was top tier. From checking in, you were made realise all staff were attentive to your presence and making the welcome to the hotel all the more evident. The room was lovely and clean look in terms of design. Probably would have expected the rooms to be slightly bigger and a view but that's down to us to request what our preference was. But overall, a lovely room. For dinner on the Saturday evening we were seated in the Parorama Bistro and Terrace and the food, service and wine was amazing. Followed by sitting down at the Glasshouse for cocktails. A very worthwhile experience. The breakfast the following day. It lived up to the hype that we were advised of! A lovely buffet for all guest to fill their own plate but also a lovely menu with a range of pancakes and eggs benedict. To conclude, will definitely recommend. Great job to all staff of the Montenotte. 👌

Wonderful place to stay we were treated like royalty before we even walked through the door Ken greeted us and helped us with our bags without us leaving the car we waited in the beautiful lounge with drinks while they were getting our room ready for me & my husband . Once they found out it was our honeymoon. They truly upgraded our experience which was a wonderful surprise and truly made it a highlight of our honeymoon. We had a wonderful dinner and scheduled massages at the spa which was a relaxing experience. Thank you to the staff for such great service & to the general manager Mr.Frits for making our stay unforgettable.

Beautiful location, friendly staff and great service! The Montenotte was the perfect place for my first trip to Cork and I enjoyed every minute of my stay. The facilities in the Motion Health Club were exactly what I needed to relax and the quality of the food in the Panorama Restaurant was superb. Totally recommended!
