Beautiful lake near the city center. Good for walking or jogging. There is a playground for kids and they can feed the ducks as well.

Thus is a beautiful spot very near the city centre! It’s a large freshwater lake and a sanctuary for all kinds of birds, including swans, geese, ducks, and many more. There’s an island in the middle which provides safe haven for the wildlife. It offers a nice walk around the perimeter and there’s plenty of seating. It’s also full of fish which proves the cleanliness of the water. People fish there and also sail miniature boats. It has even been skated on in wintertime! It is just perfect for families and kids!

We'd seen a video on YouTube done by a guy who gave voices to the many birds that live here, so we had to find our way to the lake while walking around Cork during our visit. It was a pleasant visit as we made our way around the water's edge. We saw white and black swans, white and Canadian geese, ducks, cormorants, pigeons and a few species I didn't recognize. We didn't see the herons or some of the other birds, but a local said they'd recently had a large fish die-off in the lake and it was rebuilding the population. It was also the hottest, driest summer in 40 years, so that may have played a role, as well. There are plenty of benches to sit and watch the birds or enjoy a take-away lunch.

A beautiful lake in Cork close to the city. Perfect for walks, runs, meeting up with friends, playing some ball, picnics and bird watching. It is beautiful at all times of the day. One of the favourite things about this place is the birds. You can feed them with feed available at the park for 50c only. It's a great spot for kids and adults alike.

A beautiful place for a walk or a jog. Can see various birds like swans - even saw a black swan, ducks, herons and many more! It's particularly spectacular on sunny days as you can sit on the benches and can soak in the sun. Very peaceful and the huge trees loom over you, making you feel at ease.

Going to Cork? Go to the Lough. 1.2Km around the outer rim. In July or December, you'll meet Cork and its people at its best.

good place for walking and kids under the age of 5 to play. It is a well known and important wildfowl area. Many birds take refuge at the Lough, where there is a large population of Swans.
