Took my niece for birthday cake. We each got something different so we could sample each other's. All were so yummy and moist.

First time here. Delicious. Anyone who loves baked goods should definitely try this wonderful place. I felt like I was on cloud nine. I had the lemon blueberry cheese cake, friend had coconut cream cake, and a New York cheese cake. Fun secret in Salem. Skip dessert at the restaurant if you go out to eat and treat yourself here. Deliciousness is not on the super sweet side. Each bite melted, and when I ate my last bites several hours later. It still held up. Go, go, go and enjoy.

My first time and it was totally worth the drive. (Drove from West Linn)Great afternoon with friends here! **Update** made the trip down specifically to come here and again, it didn't disappoint! I came with a group of 8. I showed up 15 minutes before the group and they were able to accommodate. Super friendly staff, tons of dessert options. Great shop, it's a must of you haven't yet tried. Love this gem!

We got our wedding cakes from them and they were AMAZING!! My husband and I stop in every time we’re in the area. And all of our guests loved them! Everyone was asking where we got our cakes. I would highly recommend!

We have purchased cakes from here and they have always been absolutely delicious. Today we went in for lunch. The service was friendly but a tad slow (not a big deal since we were not in a hurry). We had sandwiches which were all very tasty.

I am from out of state and wanted to order a special cake for my daughter’s birthday. Your Strawberry Summer Cake did not disappoint! It was wonderful! Everyone raved over it.

Food was amazing (always is!) and this time the staff was extraordinarily kind. I was in a tough situation without a ride home in the rain so I stopped in for some cake to decide what to do. Two hours later I was having an anxiety attack at my table because I was worried I'd get in trouble for staying so long, but the staff were exceedingly kind and allowed me to stay until someone could come get me. Not just the best cake you'll find, but also just lovely people. I'm overwhelmingly grateful!

The Coconut Cream cake is just to die for, and I am a fan of pretty much any of their cheesecakes as well. I like that they focus on the flavors, and they aren’t overly sweet. Gets a little hoppin’, especially on weekends, but the service is always on point & courteous. I’m glad I live close because it’s the perfect place to come for a sweets fix when I need one. :)

I had the “meat” lasagna and a pomegranate lemonade. I put the word meat in quotation marks bc the filling was just cheese instead of meat which made me pick the dish in the first place. As a side dish i was given a piece of toast which seemed like an odd combination. Anywho overall the food was delicious especially the small wheat bread ball my mom was given. I also tried the red velvet cake and it was okay a bit overly sweet but overall good.

I’ve been eating desserts from this place for decades. Always have been very pleased. BUT! Recently it seems their getting stingier and stingier with their cheesecake sizes. Today I purchased a piece of Marionberry cheesecake (my favorite), there was one piece left of a reasonable size....the guy cut it half!! Are you kidding me!! I ended up with a piece in a pie shape, 4inch at the crust side and about 6-7 inch long. If they get any smaller they’ll be samples. Really unfortunate, makes the small cheesecake not taste quite as good. Guess I have to reconsider my patronage.

I used to come here all the time, until I switched to healthier ways 😂 I had previously tried many pastry items - lemon bars, Italian cakes, snickerdoodles, and red velvet cupcakes to name a few! I returned for the first time in years and shared the Tiramisu cake. It was really nice — moist cake, light in sweetness with a great coffee flavor and creme on the top. The middle cream has flakes of chocolate which was also a great touch! Definitely worth a try! I can’t speak to the food menu but I’ve heard it’s okay —

Stopped here for dessert on a recommendation of a friend. Oh My Goodness! We ended up having half a sandwich (egg salad which was delicious) & a cup of soup (spicy asparagus which also was delicious and not terribly spicy), plus a chocolate cake with butter, mocha, chocolate mousse for filling & frosting for dessert. My friend and I split the cake because the piece was huge! We also had a hot mocha to go with our cake. Everything was fresh and delish. The employees were all very friendly and helpful. And the atmosphere is so cute. We will definitely be going back & recommending it to our friends.

Sightly pricey lunch and brunch fare, the daily quiche is usually uncommonly good, but the real winner is the massive selection of wonderful cakes. I'll keep coming back forever, as there's always another one to try.

Best cake ever . We got the chocolate one and it was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and get another kind for another birthday

I tried this place for the first time, I tried their Dark Chocolate Ganache Cake. It was the Best cake I've ever had. It was moist and Decadent. My only regret is only buying half a cake instead of a whole cake. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants amazing quality desserts. I can't wait to try other cakes and treats!

Good quality cakes and other desserts and still reasonable value. Sandwiches are a decent quality however not a very good value and a little on the small side.

What a cute little place! The pastries were amazing, you cannot go wrong with any choice you make. The restaurant was clean despite being busy. The staff were kind and helpful. It was an absolute pleasure to visit. My family I plan to stop by again next weekend on the 19th of February. I can't wait!

Wow. The chocolate truffle cake was perfect. I have never had a better birthday cake in my 45 years. It was rich, velvety, wonderful, and not too sweet.

My fiance is hard to really impress when it comes to retaurants, he is definately a conisuer. He had never been here and LOVED it. Had the Ruben sandwich and a slice of cake( we can't remember the name...it was black and white and delicious) I had the chicken salad on croissant( was only able to eat half) My second time eating here and wonderfully consisant!

Lots of cakes, no pastrie. It's NOT a German pastry place.

  • 1/5 Christy S. 1 year ago on Google
The cake I ordered was not ready on time and was decorated in a hurry (10 minutes at most), so very sloppy. It was supposed to be a Halloween themed birthday cake. It’s not horrible but not at all what I would expect from the expensive price point at Gerry Frank’s. This is the same quality and decoration you could get at Safeway. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Second visit. Delightful assortment of delicious cakes. Had a huge Cobb salad and a slice of an uber- yummy Tuxedo chocolate cake. All for under $20! Great deal, great taste, full tummy!! Next visit...carrot cake...wonderful!!

The best bakery ever! They have a pretty big selection of bakery items. Their cakes are amazing. I got a red velvet cake for a friends birthday and it was delicious! The staff are really helpful and knowledgeable. Just know sometimes you have to wait because they are very popular but it is well worth it. They do also serve other foods and people tend to like to go there for lunch.

Just hearing the name Konditorei gives me a vision of their delicious, delectable, yummy, sweet, creamy etc, etc, etc......Cakes and cookies and tortes oh my!!! Seriously, they are delicious. The coffee (addict here) is very good quality. I am picky when it comes to Coffee . They have also lunch items that taste great. Soups, sandwiches etc. Fresh flowers on every table, staff are friendly and welcoming. With the smell of fresh, brewed coffee in the air ,with light streaming through the many windows and a good friend or family member as company, it's the BEST! I have taken my Sister ,Daughter in law, Son, Grandson and my BFF there. Parking is limited, Closed on Sunday. If you are on a diet, don't have have sugar in your coffee!!!😁

SO SO many options. Absolutely delicious, I usually eat gluten free buy tried the old fashioned chocolate cake. Amazing! Worth the pain 😆 they do have gluten free option though. I will try and make it back some day.

I got the peppermint cheesecake and the caramel pecan cheesecake. Both are good, but the pecan one is a little too sweet and I think the peppermint one would be better with more chocolate. It’s also expensive; $14.50 for those two slices. I then went another time and got a slice of cake and some cookies. The red velvet cake’s frosting is way too sweet and so is the frosting on the sugar cookies.

I purchased a slice of the truffle cake. The Frosting was made with what I think was lard. At first I was really enjoying the slice, by the time I got a little over halfway the frosting Was sticking to the roof of my mouth and by the time I reach the end I just couldn't eat anymore of it. My wife on the other hand ordered the German chocolate cake and she thought it was one of the best German chocolate she had ever eaten. The staff was really great, very helpful and friendly.

I ordered my sons birthday cake here and could not have been more pleased with the outcome! I got the champagne flavor (vanilla cake/vanilla icing). It fed our party of 25 each a small slice of cake. Can’t wait to come in for a slice sometime soon! The cookie dough flavor is calling my name.

This place is fantastic. We went for lunch and ordered the panini special, chicken curry salad, a pb chewy bar and two beverages. The chicken curry was well seasoned and came with fruit. The fruit was ripe and petite cut. (This should really be the standard of how to cut all fruit in restaurants). The special was a “Bobbie sandwich”. The Turkey was paper thin and there was plenty of it. It also had a thin layer of cream cheese, and some cranberry. The bread was crispy but not greasy and there was a side of chips. The peanut butter chewy bar was good but almost too cold to bite through. The service was good. I would recommend this place for lunch. It’s clean, the food is excellent and there’s always parking. Our total was $32. Also… you can get cakes here. Big cakes. They are around $50 per cake but worth the expense. I’ve ordered four different cakes and they were all good. Our least favorite was the red velvet and our favorite was champagne raspberry. They were all so big , we couldn’t eat them fast enough and so froze some slices. They defrosted perfectly.

Absolutely the most amazing cakes in Salem. We stopped in at 8 pm for some amazing treats. The staff were very friendly and helpful. If you ever have time on the road for life, stop in and get yourself an amazing treat. If there is a one-time birthday cake gift for someone, then you must get it from here. I wish you all well my fellow Google travelers on the road to life.

Golly, I can't believe I've lived in Salem so long and I never went here before so glad I listened to my heart and went in. The best cheesecake because we had never been there before we decided to get three or four different kinds of cakes and so we could parcel them up and take them home so we tried several my favorite was the raspberry lemon, my husband's favorite was the German chocolate cake and the peanut butter chocolate no-bake cookies.

  • 5/5 Ellen K. 1 year ago on Google
Stopped in for treats to take to my Mom and Dad. It was quiet as it was morning, so I was waited on right away. Delicious shortbread cookies! (But they didn't have any lemon bars, only coconut lemon bars.) Always a go to place for desserts, a nice lunch or just a treat.

Simple and tasty lunch options. Great house salad and of course desserts! It has an old school simple vibe inside. My only knock is customer service. It’s hit and miss. There seems to be a lot of folks on staff but The taking of orders seems to fall on only 1 or 2 people behind the counter. You’ll probably have to waiting even if there’s not a line. I’ve always had average interactions and no one has ever been disrespectful or off-putting. I’d recommend it for a simple, convenient lunch or dessert spot.

I have been having their soup and half sandwich special. Their soups change daily and I haven't had one I didn't like. It's a smaller place that gets quite full, but so far we've always gotten a seat. The service is fast and friendly. They have an amazing selection of cakes and cheesecakes. Each one we've tried was delicious. I think a lot of people also go just for the desserts.

We got two different kind of cheesecakes one was a black turtle wasn’t to sweet or heavy. The other half was Marion berry cheesecake the middle was a whipped cheesecake mixture then the other thin layer on top was a plain cheesecake with Marion berry swirl. The new remodel is a delight from the cramped space before to an open floor plan.

AMAZING, I was impressed with both of the cheesecake slices i bought, my mom wishes that the Lemon cake had more lemon but overall the cake was moist and good! I'm definitely coming back to this place the next time i visit!

My mom and I like to try new places that we happen upon and Gerry Franks was just such a place. Driving around trying to find a good cafe for my birthday lunch we happened upon this gem of a cafe. Best lunch in years!! Wd had tomato bisque and chicken salad sandwiches. Pure heaven. Topped it off with a piece of the moistest, most decadent cake I have ever had. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

  • 5/5 Heather L. 4 years ago on Google
I had the Cobb salad. Wow! Delicious to the eyes and pallet! Sweet, colorful cherry tomatoes and juicy chicken bites, generous portion. My friend had the Pot Pie soup and Tuna salad sandwich. She loved both! Must come back more often.

I love the lunch specials that include a full sandwich, soup, and oh-my-god cake. Cake. You haven't lived until you've been here and tried the cake. Be prepared for a sugar coma. So many kinds of cake. Did I mention cake? Safety tip: just eat one slice.

The two kids meals of mac and cheese w fruit were very good. I had the curry chicken salad. It was just ok. The cake however was delicious! We chose the lemon and birthday cake. Moist and flavorful! The waitress was exceptional. Will definitely return.
