I stayed for one night in an ocean view room. The location is great for walking to the public beach. My bathroom was not cleaned well (hair in shower and grime on floor) and the entire hotel has a strong musty odor. There was a large roach running around my room at night. Additionally, the family staying above me had small children running laps around their room and screaming until 2am. The elevator also made a loud clunking noise all night long. It was impossible to sleep even with the AC and TV on. I wouldn't stay there again which is too bad given the location. Staff were all friendly and nice.

So we stayed recently at this location and just had such knockout experience that we are already trying to plan our next visit. They have 2 amazing staff members at the front desk that just made our experience so much more pleasant. The first was Danielle every time we had a question or needed recommendations for meals she shared all of her favorite spots with us and then one morning we ended up overslept to make it breakfast so Danielle took it upon herself with the help of the gentleman in breakfast to bring us something to us so my kids could have something to hold them over till we got to town to Denny’s. I mean that service was above and beyond the call of her duties but our family was grateful for the extra mile she took to make us have a great start to our day. The other staff member was Shelley. She was also great with the recommendations and assistance with extra toiletries we needed during our stay. So this location was super convenient to amazing restaurants and easy access to the beach for our family. Thanks for making our trip memorable Holiday Inn Express North Padre

Highly recommend! Staff was so friendly and helpful! In this day and age it’s so rare so it was refreshing and memorable. Plan to bring your own ice if you need it, jerks take advantage of the free ice and clear our their machines. We stayed in the ocean view suite and the space and view was well worth the upgrade. Pool isn’t heated but in the summer time totally not an issue! No official beach walkway close but you can drive out onto the beach just down the block with a beach parking pass. Will definitely stay here again!

The cost of this hotel compared to the cleanliness of the hotel and the inconvenience of waiting your turn for the only small elevator located in this building is JUST NOT worth it. Our room had old food on the carpet, something resembling fried chicken crumbs. A cockroach was crawling around the sofa bed and on our pillow. The staff really wasn't much help in that as they said all the rooms were filled. This room cost us over 350 a night. We've stayed at places that were cheaper and way cleaner and more comfortable. In reality you're just paying for being across from the beach because you really don't get anything else from this hotel. I do not recommend it nor would I ever stay there again. I'm surprised to an extent that this hotel has a Holiday Inn name to it because I have stayed at Holiday Inn's that were nice.

Check in was easy, and the hotel was well kept. Our room was clean, and had a view of the ocean. Breakfast was okay… they had options, but the juice machine was not working. Our issues were that one day during our stay the electricity went out a few times, which was not ideal when going up and down an elevator for breakfast. We also asked for room service to be provided during our stay, and we didn’t not get it. We kept having to go down to the desk to get sheets we had asked for the pull out couch, and for towels since they only provided two for four people. They also did not have a working ice machine, and claimed they offered ice in bags for a charge but didn’t even have those for us to buy. Overall staff and hotel were good, but I definitely think we will stay somewhere else and save ourselves some $$ next time.

Nice hotel right on the beach. We walked across the street to the beach and enjoyed the evening. The hotel is clean. Pool is nice. Breakfast was good. Cheese omelets really hot the spot. The beds were surprisingly really comfy. Staff was real nice and professional. Glad we came here., look forward to our next stay at this hotel. Compliments to the breakfast chef.

The staff was so helpful, kind and hospitable. They really treated us like we were guests in their home. The free breakfast had a nice variety. The rooms were clean and spacious. The fold-out couch bed was so nice for our large family. We especially appreciated the many hooks to hang our swimsuits and beach towels on. The beds were also very soft and comfortable. The walk to the beach was simple and convenient. Overall, a wonderful experience for our family vacation to the beach!

The rooms were spacious (we got a kind one bedroom with 2 queens and a king) and comfortable. Our room didn't have carpet so I had to keep a towel by the bed because sand and dust accumulated on my feet. A rug would've been great if there is a reason why they didn't carpet the rooms. The front desk managers were all very nice and welcoming especially the man who seemed to be there most days, I didn't get this name. Breakfast was good and the wait was reasonable at all times, even after they restocked. It was a very comfortable experience with lovely people.

We stayed here for our Anniversary with our kids. We loved the location, so close to the beach. When we booked we asked for towel animals on the bed for the kids? They were honest and said they didn’t know how to make them but they would see what they could do. Tyler and Sarah really pulled through. Amazing costumer service throughout our stay!!

With the exception of front desk staff on the day of check in ( Sunday afternoon) the remainder of the staff was amazing!!!!! The shower could have been a bit cleaner around the bottom edges but not worth complaining. The pool definitely needed cleaning around the tile but again not enough to keep us away. Comfortable rooms and beds, room was quaint with a separate couch sitting area. Beautiful view of the Gulf. Breakfast bar was good 👍. Get rid of the staff on Sunday evening and the trip would have been perfect 😁 Id stay here again for sure.

Angela the housekeeper Has went above and beyond to make my families stay a wonderful one! She was very caring attentive and such a kind hearted woman! She always had a smile on her face and always made sure to interact and ask how our stay was or if we needed anything. She is a hard worker. Angela you are awesome keep being you! Room 217

We stayed here for our vacation and could not recommend it enough. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and convenient just steps away from the beach. We also want to note that Tyler at the front desk was kind, charismatic, and so very helpful! He was our favorite part of the experience:)

We have stayed at this location numerous times. As these past few months. We are relocating to the area. Daniel and Tyler always go above and beyond to make sure our stay meet our expectations. The rooms are always very clean, the beds are pretty comfortable and that’s saying a lot for me cause I love to sleep on a cloud. The pool and hot tub are all-ways very relaxing after a long day. The location of this hotel is excellent. Just a few steps to the beach on foot or a very short drive to the beach off of Whitecap. The only negative is the the breakfast is a little lacking. Compared to some of the other holiday inns in the area. I usually like the bus cures and gravy and did not get or see that once as an option. The pankcake machine was down a few days we were their, and the had a supply issue with plastic ware. Over all I do give this hotel a very high rating.

Great location, good friendly service. The room was generally clean and the bed super comfortable. It’s not luxurious, and it could use some minor maintenance. There was a rip in the sofa, the window shade was frayed and full of holes, the balcony door needed work. But overall for the location and price, it’s a good value. The breakfast was also pretty good.

We stayed at the N. Padre Island location for nearly a week (December 27-30) and LOVED our stay. Danielle (daytime desk clerk) and Tyler (nighttime desk clerk) were wonderful, answering all our questions and were just friendly, nice folks. The breakfast room folks were great too. Didn't get his name but there was a young man who was there every morning cooking, cleaning off tables, and greeting guests. His smiling face greeted us every morning. The hotel offers a very good complimentary breakfast with omelets, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, pancakes, sausage/bacon, breads, oats, cereal, and yogurts. The hotel was very clean. Since it was December when we visited, we didn't go out to the pool so can't speak to the cleanliness of that area but it looked clean when we walked past it daily. Close to a very clean, nice beach within walking distance. We had a room that faced the ocean so could hear and see the waves....so relaxing. We are planning a return trip and will definitely try to get a room in this hotel when we return. 5 stars.

Check in was simple and fairly quick. I had made my reservation online through a 3rd party website. The room I had booked stated it had an ocean view and showed a couch in the room. Paid $271 for one night. The room was clean but there was no couch just a chair nor did it have an ocean view like it stated when i reserved my room instead it was a view of a dumpster and trash outside which was disappointing. Shower pressure was medium. Had a kuriege coffee maker and a good working refrigerator. Breakfast was sub-par in my opinion. The orange juice was extremely watered down and the pancake machine took a long time but there were a good variety of items to choose from. There is only one entrance in and out for the entire hotel which can be inconvenient and pool didn't open until 10am which is 1hr. Before check out time. Pool seemed very well kept though. Overall I wasn't disappointed with my stay but I also wasn't over impressed either. Felt more like a well kept motel 8 for the price of the Hilton.

Location was good although you'd have cross the street for the ocean side beach access. Hospitality was amazing.. both Tyler and an Indian guy (Abhi? apologize if I got your name wrong buddy..) made sure we felt like home. Room was clean, nice and had everything working well. Breakfast was good. Both Michael J. Ellis Beach, Whitecap beaches are pretty close by. Michael J. Ellis Beach was busy with kids enjoying their surfboards, could even spot an adult surfer as well!

Our two day stay was pretty good. The people working here were polite and friendly. The room was clean and everything worked. There are a few things that could have been better. Our room was on the third floor with a balcony and there was no way to lock the balcony door to keep out spiderman, it was the third floor but I've been on many higher floors with lockable balcony doors. The shower nozzle leaked. The bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows, a lot of hotels provide tiny ones, these were regular sized.

Awesome location, great breakfast spread and day long hot coffee, highly customer focussed and friendly staff, good hotel facilities and amenities. Only aspect that needs slight improvement is the quality of the rooms. But otherwise great stay and would recommend anytime.

Stayed at this hotel last week. Shelly the day manager was awesome. They were short staffed like EVERYONE else in the area. Our room wasn’t ready but once I told her we just drove down from Chicago she said she was going to get us a room as soon as possible. She recommended a restaurant nearby and it was great. By the time we finished our first round our rooms were available. Hotel is EXACTLY what we expected in a beach town.

I really appreciated the kindness of Melendi at the front desk she went out of her way to be welcoming and helpful which makes a huge difference. The hotel had a good vibe family friendly and the rooms were for the most part fairly clean. The last night I was here unfortunately I did see a bug crawl up my bathroom wall but it is South Texas and fairly humid. Other than that I was thankful this place is fairly close to the beach and peaceful location. The only big complaint I have is that the hotel is that the breakfast shuts down early. I got there at 8:50 AM one morning and they are out of eggs? The second day they didn't have sausage or bacon at the same time so I had to eat a leftover burrito I had brought from the day before. This is really unprofessional. Im not sure why they put a sign that says breakfast till 9:30 when really they start shutting it down at 9AM. If you want breakfast get there early otherwise you won't have any.
