I
have
never
before
given
a
review
of
any
business
online.
.
But
I
am
going
out
of
my
way
to
earmark
this
Best
Western
in
Corvallis.
The
person
who
ran
the
front
desk
that
night
I
checked
in
was
wonderful,
so
this
does
not
apply
to
here.
But
in
general
I
will
tell
all
my
friends
who
do
business
in
Corvallis
or
who
stay
over
night
for
OSU
events
or
ballgames
to
find
another
hotel.
Here's
why.
I
booked
three
rooms
for
two
nights
this
past
June.
One
for
my
wife
and
I,
one
for
our
kids,
and
one
for
my
elderly
in-laws.
My
in-laws
had
a
health
episode,
resulting
in
the
need
for
us
to
cancel
their
room
entirely
and
to
shorten
our
stay
to
one
night
while
we
tended
to
them.
When
we
went
to
cancel,
we
were
inside
the
window
to
cancel
for
the
second
night
of
the
in-laws
room.
And
they
made
an
exception
to
cancel
their
first
night
too.
But
they
refused
to
let
us
cancel
the
first
night
of
our
reservation.
Thus
we
paid
for
two
room
on
a
night
we
did
not
use
the
rooms.
I
understand
the
concept
of
a
business
suffering
when
their
are
last
minute
cancellations
because
the
reservation
took
away
the
opportunity
for
the
business
to
sell
the
room
to
others.
If
that
were
the
case,
I'd
get
it.
But
it
wasn't.
We
were
told
that
for
both
night
we
had
planned
on
staying,
the
hotel
did
not
come
close
to
being
sold
out.
There
were
ample
rooms
unreserved.
This
is
why
it
is
galling
that
after
hearing
our
situation,
they
still
charged
us
for
two
night
when
we
only
stayed
one.
They
didn't
lose
a
sale
on
account
of
us
not
being
able
to
make
it
their
the
first
night.
They
had
LOTS
of
room
they
still
could
have
sold.
Put
antoher
way,
they
admitted
they
did
not
lose
any
sales
because
of
our
reservation
"cancellation"
(half
the
hotel
was
empty)
but
no
matter:
they
still
kept
the
money
for
two
nights
from
us
even
though
we
only
stayed
one.
Worse,
the
person
who
informed
me
of
this
"policy"
went
out
of
her
way
to
let
me
know
that
I
should
consider
myself
lucky
she
even
let
me
cancel
the
first
nights
of
the
room
we
never
occupied
(the
room
for
the
in-laws
who
were
unable
to
make
the
trip)
because
that
was
outside
the
cancellation
window.
When
I
protested
having
to
pay
for
two
room
the
first
night
when
we
couldn't
get
to
Corvallis
and
they
still
had
other
rooms
to
sell,
I
was
told
"
Because
you
are
complaining
about
these
charges,
now
I'm
begging
to
second
guess
my
decision
to
even
let
you
cancel
the
first
night
of
your
in-laws
room
because
after
all
that's
outside
the
cancellation
window."
They
know
I'm
unhappy
about
this.
They
never
offered
to
rectify
it.
I'm
about
to
post
this
story
on
every
travel
site
I
can
think
of;
I'm
also
telling
every
professional
I
know
down
there
who
has
guests
stay
in
town
to
send
them
anywhere
but
this
hotel.
They
took
advantage
of
a
family
health
incident
to
make
money
on
two
rooms
that
nobody
slept
it
because
"that's
their
policy."
I'm
sure
there
are
other
hotel
owners
in
Corvallis
who
do
not
operate
this
way.
This
experience
left
a
bad
taste
in
my
mouth.
I
even
have
gone
out
of
my
way
to
steer
clear
of
Best
Westerns
even
though
I
know
they
are
locally
owned.
So
this
particular
hotel
pocketed
an
extra
$500
from
me
for
nothing
as
two
rooms
remained
vacant
along
with
a
number
of
others.
I'm
hoping
that
little
"policy"
profit
will
cost
them
in
the
long
run.
