The hotel is cheap considering the excellent location near the beach, convenience stores and plenty of delicious restaurants! It offers breakfast although its a bit uninspired, you can drink juice, coffee, milk and eat toasts some exotic fruits and croissants, its a good breakfast for the room price. When you check in you are offerer a Champaign bottle a night although we didn't take it. The room overall was nice but a bit depressing considering the view we had and the lack of decorations. The bathroom is nice and clean, in tact everything was clean. The only problem with the bathroom is the water pressure which is very low!

It was adequate. It's close to the beach and on a nice little market street. Bed was reasonably comfy and the room had all the standard amenities. It didn't, however, have aircon but, rather, a small fan so it did tend to get pretty warm (I went in July so I can imagine this being exacerbated in the depth of summer). The included breakfast was fairly standard (budget) continental. Otherwise staff were very friendly and helpful and, as a bonus, you could borrow an umbrella for the beach for free.

The rooms are very small and very simply furnished. It doesn't look very clear. The breakfast offers are very monotonous, every day just the same. The good things about this place is stuff, that ist very nice and helpfull and the beach is very close to hotel.

The only good detail was the guy at reception. Decent to good breakfast. Rooms and bathroom are very bad. My staying was an incidental single overnight, though. So nothing to do with beach plan :(

One of the best hotels in Caparica Costa da Caparica is a small town on the outskirts of the metropolitan area of Lisbon, it’s the typical beach town with souvenir’s shops, surf academy’s, beach bars and a loooot of restaurants. You can get there by catching a direct bus from Praça de Espanha (Lisbon), that will take you there in about 15/30 minutes. There are a bunch of places that you can choose to stay in Caparica, however the most renowned place is the Hotel Praia do Sol, for it was the first hotel build in Costa da Caparica; it is a very old hotel (build in 1935), and even with the all the “renovations” it still has that old Art deco feeling. The rooms are not very big and the furniture is old, but the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and quite big for the size of the room (our had a bathtub), the room was also very clean and tidy. The cleaning lady was very polite, as well as the reception staff that worked 24/7. The hotel at night is in a quiet place, so there is no noisy party´s around; the location is in the main touristic street of Caparica, so you are close to everything (shops, food, and day bars – night bars are on the beach), for a 2 star hotel (it felt like a 3 star hotel) the location, is excellent. The location of beach is just 10 minutes (walking) from the hotel in the end of the street, and when you get there you have 20 kilometers of pristine white sandy beaches’. There are tourists around, but not as the “invasion” in Algarve; in Caparica you can still see traditional wood boats of the fishermen, parked in the beach and if you are lucky you may see them go out to sea in those small boats. All and all, excellent place for a short vacation, and a good hotel with nice staff for a “comfortable” price. Note: July and August are the most expensive month´s in Caparica.

It's a simple and cozy hotel super close to the beach. Breakfast is good. The coffee could be better tho. Enjoyed my stay and reccomend it.

Very small old fashioned rooms, no amenities except a TV. Our view from our room was the back of a building. Breakfast was OK but nothing to write Homs about.

Nice cozy rooms just 5 min. Walk from the beach. Shops and patisseries in front of hotel.

I didn't feel safe. My room key was given to someone else who walked in there in the middle of the night!! Luckily this person had no bad intentions. I haven’t received any formal apologies from the hotel, they just tried to ignore that this had happened. Apart of that, towels are scratchy, the room had non-functioning lights, the bathtub faucet knob popped out. I've felt way better while camping!!
