Booked this room for work, had the toilet upstairs was a double room, comfy bed decent TV nice & clean only downfall (which I forgot) was it's a pub/restaurant quite noisy at night but to be expected didn't bother me that much as I normally don't sleep till 11.30/12 most nights if you don't like evening noise I don't reccomend if you don't mind it then its a decent place to stay, never got to try the food was to late. Following morning one of the staff was really friendly aswell upon checking out!

Ordered a desert as seen from the menu to provide for 3 people. So paid £10.50 expecting a gods made desert. However, this is not the case. The young waiter brought out ONE bowl of strawberries and a SMALL bowl of white chocolate for 3 of us. This was £10.50! I could’ve just bought the same thing for at least £5. Wasn’t even well presented just chucked in. Then we all had to sit there and watch a well presented desert getting handed over to a customer. But the waiter said they couldn’t present a few strawberries and some white chocolate?? Absolutely astounded

This place is my absolute favourite. It is the friendliest, liveliest, most fun little place, with delightful staff and the most divine food (I'm vegan). The rooms are spacious and well decorated with lovely powerful showers and tea/coffee/treats. I cannot recommend the Forrester's enough, especially if you are up for a night you won't forget in amazing company. Don't miss out!

Location is great for walking and the food in the restaurant was lovely. Pity they don't do any breakfast. As a hotel it is very noisy and not relaxing as it is above a busy pub with last orders at twelve and still noisy till about 1

Came here with my family on holiday they fitted us in last minute and we was grateful for that. Friendly service, nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. I ordered a steak bagette and chips and it was delicious

On our way across from Whitehaven I received a call from the owner asking if we needed to book a table at the restaurant that night. Unfortunately I said no. On arrival the only space left was 5.30pm the rest of the evening was fully booked which just shows how popular it is. Nipped to the chippy to curb our hunger later on so great, but not as good as the French cuisine on offer in the restaurant.. The French theme appears throughout both the bar, restaurant and our room, as obviously the owners are from France. Our room was well decorated and split up on two levels with the bathroom on the top attic floor. This is great as it doesn't feel cramped and nothing felt as if it was jammed in. The owner was really friendly and chatted to us as we had a beer outside after our arrival. The Hudeshope Beck runs at the back of the property and whilst you can see it from there the best view I had was from the bridge a short walk away. If you are visiting the area it's definitely worth trying to book here just remember to grab a table when offered.
