We really loved the hotel. There was lots of traditional charm, and a classy feel to it. We had a spacious room which was clean and attractive. There was a comfortable four poster bed, plus all the usual facilities. We had a problem with the shower, otherwise it would have been five star. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely Afternoon Tea. I can see why all the other reviews are all positive. Plenty seating options available to suit any desire. sandwiches were lovely and soft. Good scones, and nice moist sweets at the top. Just how it should be. Accommodating for dietary needs. And nice grounds to have a stroll around either before or after. I'll be coming back.

We were here for our daughter's wedding. The organisation was fabulous. The staff did a superb job which meant we all had the best possible day. The Floral Chapel and the ground were beautiful.

Attended a friend's wedding. Hotel set in beautiful manicured grounds with a small seating area overlooking the lake. Plenty of car parking, ideal venue. Good disabled access. The wedding chapel was intimate and beautifully decorated. The banqueting hall was large and airy with stunning chandeliers. The tables were set immaculately and the food and service were excellent. Staying for the evening disco, the "room" was set out yet again to a high standard. On the evening we used the bar(again ), staff worked very hard, small queues, perhaps a tad expensive? but because of the venue to be expected. Evening buffet superb, cannot fault it. Thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic day. Well done to all involved.

All staff were perfectly fine service was brilliant. General manager appeared and was immediately aggressive and intimidating towards paying customers asking them to leave with no given reason at all. Also shouting at staff and foul language in front of customers. Appalling behaviour from what has been a great place unfortunately.

We were at a family wedding. The place is lovely and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Definitely try the steak if you are a meat eater, delicious 😋.

Great location just off the A1. Hotel set in beautiful grounds of Hardwick country park. Plenty of parking, staff very helpful on arrival. Room was excellent and very comfortable. Bar well stocked for all tastes. Breakfast really good. I had eggs Benedict which was cooked to perfection. I'd definitely return for business trip or with the family.

I really liked the visit to the Hardwick Hall Hotel, good points were the grounds were lovely and so peaceful. The rib room food and wine was exceptional and amazing customer service. The rooms were nice clean to a high standard. The views from the room are absolutely breath taken. I do feel like some of the hotel is very dated. The breakfast was OK. Next time if I book I would be asking if there is a wedding just because it was very loud of noise on the night and could hear music. I did. Not complain as it was just a slight base noise. Room was very hot and no up to date air con or ventilation. TV was nice, beds were nice as I requested a large bed. Over all the say was OK just small things really.

Had our function there recently. We wanted specific entertainment for the night and they allowed us to use our own dj who works with the saxophonist we booked. Paige, the events coordinator, was very accommodating and understanding with our requests. Highly recommend the venue. We had a great night and are very appreciative to the venue and its staff.

We went for afternoon tea at the hotel. Great interiors with sofas and armchairs overlooking the beautiful scenery of the lake and trees. The route from the parking to the hotel is wonderful with the lake and geese, ducks and swans. It was ideal for families with small children and their dogs.

Fantastic place with the best staff! This is our new go to place, the afternoon tea is the best we've experienced and the steak house 'rib room' in the cellar is exceptional 👌 Rooms are excellent and if it's a special treat or company is paying 😉 I recommend the celebration suite! Over looking the lake the views are beautiful and nice for a stroll after a good feed.

Lovely hotel. Fantastic food. Rooms are big, beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was so luxurious! Loved our stay.

Well I come here quite a bit, today 23/09 I thought I'd walked into a funeral parlour, the 2 girls behind the bar must have won the lottery but lost the ticket! If they cracked a smile the building would has collapsed, no manners no smiles, very very poor, then they came to the table to bring our drinks I think one of them must have had drawing pins in her shoes it was like a scene from the film misery, may have to rethink about coming here in future

Stayed overnight, super room, great meal on the evening. Full English Breakfast wasn't up too much, items over cooked. Reception staff friendly & helpful as were the bar staff & staff in the restaurant. The soup was so tasty compliments to the chef.

Beautiful grounds, plenty of parking nextdoor to a great park with ponds and a good play area for kids. Haven't stayed at the hotel but been there for conferences and the food has been lovely and the staff helpful 🙂

Stayed one night this week. Website stated all rooms had a parkland or lakeside view. We had a good stay and the room was lovely, but the view was disappointing, all we could see was the top of the first floor roof. So disappointing, if we had known we would have upgraded to a Lakeside view.

We stopped for lunch in the lounge which is open to the public. We were lucky and didn't reserve and managed to get a table. The food here is beautiful and the staff are very polite and helpful. Really enjoyed and will be back. The plate we ordered also come with a big bowl of veg

Very nice afternoon tea! Good selection of cakes and sandwiches, would've got a 5 star! But the waitress, who was very helpful and brought everything out! Was never seen again! Never came to ask if everything was ok? And we had to find someone, to get a box, to take home what we couldn't eat! And it wasn't very busy, could understand if they were rushed off their feet?

We had afternoon tea. The ambiance and decor is lovely and the tea was lovely. Plenty of cakes, sandwiches and sausage roll. All of high quality. Service was excellent. All the staff were very nice and friendly and good service. I would like to have tipped on my card but staff don't get it. I think this should change as not everyone carries cash, however I will definitely book again as it was a lovely experience.

We stayed after attending a nearby wedding venue. Huge room overlooking the Lake. Lovely bathroom with lots of hot water. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Amazing grounds which we enjoyed walking around.

Went for Sunday lunch. Service wasn't great, offered tea or coffee when we had just got drinks and hadn't had our meals. Staff keen to clear tables and felt as though they were hovering, actually trying to clear before people had finished. Communication between the staff didn't seem to be great. More smiles in the restaurant would make it a nicer experience. Food was nice.

This was our second visit this year as we had an afternoon tea with 30 friends in the summer to celebrate our Golden Wedding and it was excellent. Yesterday we had the same room for a family lunch and again the food and service were excellent. We definitely recommend it for any celebration.

My daughter was married in Hardwick and everything was just perfect. From the food the night before in the rib room to the day itself. Everything ran smoothly, the wedding team handled everything making as stress free as possible. Just perfect 🥰

The room, while initially looking impressive was tired and not very clean. The staff were frequently hard to find with desks unattended, bars vacant and posts left empty. While the food at the event we attended was good, what was supplied as a vegetarian option was not what was ordered (lasagna instead or risotto). And breakfast was not cooked to order but most definitely assembled to order. Also food standards when dealing with intolerance are very lax, coffee machines not cleaned between regular and other milk, butter on a scone served to a lactose intolerant guest etc. The setting is nice, but not worth it for the hotel.

Here for the wedding of Mr &Mrs Bambridge on a really hot day...beautiful Hotel and the Coleman Suite is just stunning, anyone would be hard pushed not to be impressed by the grandeur of the room and its stunning chandeliers and mirrors, just gorgeous...The staff were all very nice and the food very good (hot buffet style) although there were three weddings that day you wouldn't really know it as the hotel is so big that there's no crossover and we had no problems parking. Very nice venue with stunning views over the park would recommend. I can't wait until next May as my daughter has booked the floral Chapel for her wedding 😍 well done Hardwick Hall!

Four of us had afternoon tea. The food was excellent and we can highly recommend. Due to a number of weddings the service wasn't what we expected. But management sorted the problems for us. We will not let our service issue put us off, and would be happy to return.

Beautiful location, visited for a Wedding. Sadly, they seem to be lacking experienced staff and the attention to detail was not what you'd expect. Fingerprints left on the vases, my plate had a mark where it looked like it was stained, the Cheesecake desert had a base which took up half the height of the cake and they forgot to put out a knife to cut the cake. Nothing that you couldn't live with, but not what you'd expect from a top hotel.

Visited this venue as a wedding party guest and just driving into the grounds was such a pleasing experience. There is a large lake with a multitude of wild birds and a pleasant walk around the lake. The hotel itself is full of charm as would be expected in a large Manor House. The room was immaculate with a huge bed and boasted all the facilities you would expect. The staff were so friendly and helpful and they ensured a great time was had by everyone. Definitely in my most highly recommended category.
