Stopped in on a weekend trip for brunch and this Bakery is great! It’s easy to get to from the hotel and way better food than what the hotel had! Should’ve had breakfast here twice! The fresh biscuits and rolls were delicious! We tried the quiche and also liked that. Was a bit disappointed a lot of things that were on the menu weren’t available though when we went. With no clear signage that basically if those items aren’t in the case then they don’t have them. It’s always a peeve when then the host gets rude as if I, guest, am supposed to know that and where they store what; after rushing me forward to order when then other things aren’t prepared for the menu that were also full kitchen items. My host was a bit rude while their coworkers serving other guests seemed nicer and less abrasive. But all in all a great spot and he did NOT ruin my experience! They have this pepper jam by the pick up counter that was absolutely delicious! The prices were great too and liked how I could build out my sandwich to my dietary restrictions. They’re spacious with a great ambiance too! I really liked seeing their light fixtures which were really unique! I’d definitely go back again and recommend you stop in if you’re in the area.

Nice spot for an eclectic menu with southern influences. From scratch sausage biscuit, beignets, hearty salad all good. The cream cheese croissant did not work for me. The decor is really cool

I stopped in here while working for a local hotel to pick up to go breakfast and lunch. I got the seasonal soup which was butternut squash beignets and a pistachio latte. The service was quick and friendly, the beignets were larger than I got when I was in New Orleans and a little denser but they were delicious.

I wasn’t really impressed or inspired from this bakery and cafe. It felt very stereotypical and doesn’t embody the bayou spirit. I don’t want to say I was disappointed, but compared to the other cafes in the area it’s average. Perfect for jumping in, getting what you want, and dipping out. The staff was absolutely amazing, bubbly, patient, and knowledgeable about the menu and beverages. I had ordered after a tremendously difficult customer and still received immaculate service. Kudos to them, gave a big tip.

Truly amazed by this restaurant! Great portions, flavors, and value for your money! Tried the Mr. T sandwich, Mac and cheese and of course the beignets. The beignets have authentic New Orleans flavor and are fresh. Can’t recommend this place enough. Truly a gem in Arlington! 10/10 service, decor and food 🤩🤩🤩 please note that a lot of their dishes have bacon in the case you don’t want bacon.

Bayou is delicious and bring not-often-found NOLA flavors to the DMV. Beignets and biscuits are the gems, seating can be limited with a few tables outdoors. Ordering is more like ticketing at the counter which can be chaotic, but there quick and well worth navigating. Popular spot with knowledgeable and accommodating staff are characteristic of Bayou Bakery during all seasons! ig: @harshaeats

Pretty nice spot. Beignets were good not great. They were kind of tough instead of delicate. Coffee just OK. Other food was good (avocado Benedict), but the portion was small for my hunger level. Also didn’t love that practically every table had a sign that says it’s for 3-4 people. Sorry I am by myself!

The food was amazing and they even have frozen alcoholic slushies. I had the gumbo and their specialty grilled cheese. Go check out the places. The people who work there have a beautiful spirit and you always feel welcomed. The place is like a small art museum with a bit of historical facts posted on the walls. Check it out. You'll definitely return. I know I will.

As I write this, my hunger was just satiated by a hearty and warming lunchtime meal. Although not pictured here, we got some flavorful gumbo that had all the right items to make it a great lunchtime stew and a roast beef po boy which had an amazing gravy that had me coming back for more and more bites. The food disappeared before i could remember to take some photos for the memories. However, I did manage to snap some quick pics of their Deviled eggs with their “pork n’ peño” addition which really put these deviled eggs on a whole other level. Also, if you’re in the area and you’re not getting their beignets, you’re 100% missing out. A great spot to chose for amazing food and chill interior (and exterior) vibes. Staff was friendly, helpful and instrumental in making this place a spot I’ll be returning to in the near future.

Came here for Sunday Brunch and there was lots of seating available, maybe 6 or 7 tables outside and plenty of seating inside as well. Got the avocado eggs Benedict, salmon toast, beignets, and a chai latte with oat milk. The avocado eggs Benedict had a great flavor but it was cold which was disappointing. The beignets and salmon toast were both excellent. Service sort of slow but mostly because it was crowded and there was a long line.

Literally never leave bad reviews but this place I bought the sandwich from this morning gave me half a sandwich and when I asked for Cinnamon on my Latte 😂 the guy threw like 2-3 tbsp on it. Love coffee shops like this but could’ve done better with the coffee and sandwich. The girl behind the counter was very very cool with helping me choose what to eat but the coffee and sandwich were ok and missing the top bread 🤦🏻‍♂️.

Met for a late morning work meeting. Not very busy. My cafe au lait and beignets were great. My colleague’s egg was a very sad square of scrambled egg. The best she could muster was she “liked the hot sauce”. In all fairness she should have gotten the GF (crack?) cookie though our cashier seemed disinterested. Likely I’ll be back. Not sure if my colleague would try it again.

Stopped in for casual breakfast with a friend and was not disappointed. The beignets were appropriately buried in sugar. Definitely recommend the biscuits and pepper jelly. Everything was good though.

I grabbed brunch here for the first time, and the staff were cheerful, helpful, and patient. I ordered some hot food items as well as some Bakery sweets. Everything was delicious, including the iced Hibiscus Ginger! I will be back for more!

We were coming from the farmers market and wanted to grab a bite to eat. Bayou Bakery is right across the street which made it very convenient! Luckily we reached before it got too crowded, and we were able to order at the front and grab a table for 3 people. Seating is first come first serve. I ordered an iced honey bee latte which has honey, vanilla and orange zest. It was delicious! Very unique and sweet which I liked. For food I got the yogurt with their fresh granola and fruit. The granola was so good! It was a great meal and fun atmosphere.

We really enjoyed this place on our visit to the DC area. We had breakfast there two times at my son’s request. We had the biscuit both times. We also had the beignets and coffee. Everything was great and customer service was wonderful…very friendly staff.

Amazing plan buttermilk biscuits! We had a a sampler brunch and I’m sorry the photos do not do our food justice. We carried out as it was too crowded to get a seat, and the food help up really well! We had: Plain buttermilk biscuits- THE SOFT AND FLUFFY STAR OF THE SHOW Avocado Benedict - YUM! Who doesn’t like runny egg on tater tot’s?!? Beignets - which were light and tasty and dusted with powdered sugar. BF did not see the point in them. Cornbread. I heard it was good but was WAY to fill to taste it. An excellent latte that was lovely and NOT acidic / butter.

I was planning to give this place 4 stars, but my friend and I both had tummy troubles shortly after our meals. Outside of that, the meal was generally pretty tasty. Took about 30 mins from the time we got in line to get our food on a Saturday around 10 am. Things that can be improved was that the biscuit was a bit dry and sandwich was smaller than expected.

Stopped in today after having this place saved for a while and got to speak with the owner/chef David, who was a great guy with fantastic food! My wife is from the New Orleans area, so we're familiar with the food. The beignets I had here were what I expected Cafe Du Monde's to be. These were delicious. She got the muffalata and loved it. I love roast beef, got the Arm Drip sandwich and it was soooo good. Their bread is also delicious. We also got iced coffees, which were good. My friend made his own breakfast biscuit sandwich that he said was really good and he can be quite picky. My wife got a hurricane, which was dangerous. We also tried praline cookies and their take on an Oreo (the Dat O) and they were really good. When the wife's family comes into town we'll be taking them here and stopping in more frequently for sure. Laissez Les bon temps rouler!

Delicious experience at Bayou. We went thinking about biscuits, but seeing that there were shrimp and grits, I went with that and a biscuit on the side. Creamy, cheesy grits, shrimp were just right and the sauce was really good. Biscuit was light and fluffy. My wife had the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, plus got us an order of beignets. Beignets were so good... Just careful with all that powdered sugar.

i came here for a birthday brunch with my partner and best friend after a night of partying. the atmosphere was everything, incredibly cozy and welcoming. we all got different signature meals off the brunch menu and tasted eachothers and everything was amazing. also beignets to share, which ive never seen such large ones haha. it's a bit of a drive from where we live, but id absolutely make the trip again for a nice brunch date. the bathrooms were clean, customer service was good, the system for ordering and putting dirty dishes away was easy and efficient. i guess my only complaint would be that they close so early on a saturday! we could easily have spent another hour there chatting over coffee.

This place is perfect for a more low-key brunch since it's cafeteria-style but has lots of seating and a fun atmosphere. The prices/portions are very reasonable. The avocado Benedict was good (the roasted tomatoes made it). Cafe au lait and croissants were great. The breakfast sandwich was kind of mid (it was bland). I added salt and hot sauce to everything but with those additions it was perfect.

Great place for breakfast or brunch. Had the egg sandwich with a side order of beignets and a latte. Perfect! There is some outside seating which allows you to bring your favorite canine friend along! Have come here a few times so I would definitely recommend a visit.

Staff was cold and disinterested in providing a welcoming experience... almost like they were annoyed that I had an order to put in. Only really good thing about the food was that I didn't have to make it myself... though I could have done better if I had. I like the big windows and feel of the place... minus the disinterested/inattentive staff. Edit: The reply I got from the business likely highlights the underlying issue... it's not the customer's responsibility to ensure a good customer experience. Supervision and training ensure there isn't a need for an in restaurant confrontation over restaurant issues. If you want a good review, provide good service from the start.

Bayou is a wonderful restaurant in the DMV to have a comforting breakfast. The savory grits are so tasty. They have bacon, cheddar, and green onions. The beignets are unique treat for this area. Their coffee is also well executed.

Out of this world biscuits. I should have gotten the pimento bacon egg biscuit because the cheese just melted everywhere and looked delicious but ended up getting the cheddar bacon egg biscuit because of my nightshade allergy. Also got the praline latte that was lip smacking good. Would definitely recommend this place for a delicious breakfast stop before moving on to your day’s fun activities🥳
