Free entrance to the site which is amazing. The exhibitions are interesting, lower floor wws about the history of coventry and theres a big diplodocus fossil on display. The second floor most interesting exhibition was about godiva and her story. Very suitable for bringing children as there’s a lot of interactive things for them to do here and the staff are friendly.

Seriously the best place in Coventry! Every time I visit with my elderly father, we come away feeling inspired , refreshed, and more positive! I even bought some vinyl by The Selecter in the gift shop- how cool is that?!

Fab access point, disabled spaces out side. SEND bag to loan full of sensory toys. A lift, a great little shop selling wooden toys, clay and other cook items on deal. A wonderful art expedition which caused many discussions and thought provoking conversations.

I went on a Friday afternoon to visit with my partner whom I've been with for a few years. We originally went to this museum 8 years ago early on in our relationship and had a wonderful time so decided to go again on a round trip of visiting places we'd been to before on dates. What can I say, the staff are lovely and very helpful to everyone (at least those on shift). I witnessed a gentleman that approached a woman who looked confused to guide her where she wanted to be, took her there and opened the doors for her. The front staff were lovely too, from the bag checker to the front desk staff and the personnel dotted around the museum. All of them were polite, helpful and with big smiles on their faces. It's free to enter with the option of donation. I believe from my terrible memory from when I lived in cov 7 years ago, that there may be chargeable exhibits on occasion and they were all very reasonable. With the sheer amount of history and local knowledge here it is more than worth a visit! 5 stars well deserved!

It's pretty decent, but it is a one-time visit. We saw the photographs of the Wild photography award winners. It is one of a kind I'd say where you get to see art and history, but history doesn't mean purely art. Exploring the captivating narratives behind the images enhanced our appreciation for the intersection of nature, culture, and creativity.

Good selection of historic artefacts focusing on the local area. Small art collection. Cafe was fine. The area where Dippy is displayed is a little bit too small to get good views and photos from the side, but nice to see this cultural icon being exhibited outside London. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

A must-visit art gallery in Coventry. There is no entrance fee, donations are welcome. A very cool place for kids (adults as well) to learn. Not far from Coventry Cathedral.

The art collections featuring both local and internationally renowned artists. Learning about Coventry's industrial past and its resilience during challenging times was both enlightening and humbling. The attention given to showcasing the city's history, from its medieval origins to its modern-day significance, was commendable. It also offers a delightful encounter with Dippy, the life-sized cast of a Diplodocus dinosaur, serves as a captivating centerpiece in the museum's collection. The museum's dedication to community engagement was evident through its inclusive programming and interactive activities. From workshops to educational events, the Museum actively encourages creativity and fosters a deep appreciation for the arts. The welcoming and knowledgeable staff further enriched my visit. Their passion for the museum and its collections was contagious, and they readily answered questions, providing valuable insights into the exhibits.

Popped in to see Dippy the Diplodocus, no booking required as it was a quiet mid week day. Free entry although you can donate via cashless (£3) well worth it. Dippy didn't disappoint, but the Herbert offers far more. We strolled through a potted history of Coventry and the surrounding area with plenty of interactive stuff to look at, from Medieval to Modern day, Industry, Schools, Life style and Music all on display. Very good art collection albeit much smaller than it was when I was a lad and some interesting modern stuff too. There is a nice cafe, which we didn't use as we were only on a fleeting visit but it was packed. All the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. If you visit the Cathedral then pop into the Herbert across the road, you will not be disappointed.

Free to enter. Some exhibitions recommend booking. Took my niece (10) and nephew (12) to see Dippy the Dinosaur. They'd been to the Herbert before but specifically wanted to see Dippy. There was a bit of a queue as we hadn't booked, but we only waited about 5 minutes or so. There was a fossil and folklore trail, which we all enjoyed, and some activities (niece made a dog - it started out as a dinosaur - and nephew had a go but gave up quickly). We enjoyed looking around the galleries and displays, finding the answers to the trail questions. Accessibility - plenty of space, lifts available, plenty of toilets and changing areas.

I went there to see the exhibition of Daniel Lismore creations. Exhibition was very well prepared and visitors flow well organized. Also I have visited other sections of the museum and found it interesting. It is really worth visiting when you will be in Coventry. It is easy to find because it is located next to the Cathedral ruins.

A beautiful wildlife photography exhibition by famous photographers and people of different ages groups who'd won competitions. It's there until April, so go and enjoy and learn something new. It's £7.50 for an adult but we'll worth it. It has also got Dippy the dinosaur (skeleton) downstairs which is interesting and kids will love it.

Amazing to see Dippy again - really well presented in a wonderful new exhibition room and the main highlight of the museum. Excellent exhibition about Lady Godiva. Lots of other interesting exhibitions. A good cafe for coffee and snacks.

Some interactive things were missing. Also some of the lighting wasn't on. So couldn't see some of the exhibits. Overall though it was a good visit and if you are visiting allow yourself a good 2 hours to see everything.

Different areas provide different kinds of exhibits from time to time. If you are fond of arts, it would be nice to have a walk. 🏃💃 Don't miss a visit to the Coventry Cathedral closeby. 🙏

The Herbert art gallery has been an interesting gallery since day 1. Now it really aims to tell the story of Coventry in history and today. They currently have a number of modern exhibitions covering street art which are truly creative and experimental Plus they have Dippy the diplodocus who everyone seems to love

Our 16-month-old loved seeing Dippy the Dinosaur at the Herbert! There was space upstairs for some colouring activities too which he enjoyed. He's too young to appreciate the other exhibitions, but we'll be bringing him back when he's older. We visited during half term but it wasn't over-crowded and he got to see Dippy up close.

Short stop here, which I wish had been longer, the two tone exhibition is inspiring and have me insights that I hadn't realised, the art displays are thought provoking and engaging.

One of the few cultural places left that offer free entry. Always has something interesting to look at and easy to get around even for someone physically challenged. Had a nice sensory room for kids which my youngest enjoyed whilst the others looked at some of the galleries. It had something for all generations and the current Dippy the Dinosaur exhibition was interesting enough. It's there for a couple more years and families with younger kids should go whilst they can as mine enjoyed posing with Dippy. Had to book in advance but free tickets and ended up buying a 'VIP' ticket for the youngest which included a voucher for the cafe, a soft dinosaur toy and a book about Dippy which brought some happiness. Please use and leave a little spare change or smaller places like this may die out.

This medium sized museum has everything you would need in a museum. Old art, New art, facts on Coventry and Lady Godiva. Regular special exhibitions. Cafe and shop too. Handy for the Cathedral, worth a visit for it's stained glass windows alone.

Interesting galleries. Knowledgeable and polite staff. Free entry. Some interactive exhibits to keep smaller children occupied. A lift for those with mobility issues. Clean toilets. Entrance opposite the cathedral. Recommended.

Was here for the Dippy the Dinosaur. (My count of the tail bone was 70 ) lovely display. Also have historical collections and arts around. Really lovely place to be.

Fascinating museum, good collections, pity the lighting is so poor, display cases make you feel you should bring a torch. In this age of technology there must be better solutions, to little or no lighting!
