Oh dear, this store is in need of an urgent facelift, the floors down most isles were soaking wet, when i asked one of the staff why i was told it's always like this, a definite accident waiting to happen. No tills open, not all of us like the self service tills. Staff were pleasant and helpfully though.

Long wait to checkout. Staff at checkout are too slow. Be aware of the veg weight machine, they may weigh your product more than the actual weight. Security guys are too rude even if you are a good customer. I believe people will go to other shops given there is an option.

(please look at the locations when taking into consideration the 5 star reviews Most of them aren't even in the country indicating paid reviews.) Let's play a game of never have I ever. Never have I ever received more than 30% of the product I have ordered from Uber from this store, Opting to keep stock for potential sales rather then the sale that has already been made. Never have I ever had my order received within 2 hours. Never have I ever got the correct size milk I've ordered. Never have I ever walked into this store and not received a dirty look from at least one of the workers here. Cant fit this one in the format; but these guys charge far too much on uber, for products, this also includes the Uber surcharge, which I understand as it'd be a loss for the company but these guys make atleast 50% more profit on uber products. Oh and the store layout is horribly confusing. never have I ever walked into this store and not thought; this place needs a clean. if this was a drinking game, i'd be absolutely smashed right now. I've previously worked in retail, and although there are certain places in town which are far worst; this place really needs to have a full redo. New managers, new employees, the works. use to love this place when I was around the age of 16, relaxing in town with friends after school and collage, but now the standard has dropped drastically. ADVICE: Just go to the one on Fargosford. The standards are so much better. Just Try to have this review removed, As next time i'll show google my uber receipts and location updates.

I have been shopping from sainsburys years in different cities in the UK this absolutely the worst branch I have ever seen always short staff and hygiene level is low compared to other sainsburys branches The fridges unclean and smells bad a lot of times I see damaged products and they are still on the shelves and because there are short staff the staff who works there are unprofessional sometimes you see really long queues that you have to wait as a customer I don’t expect to see that happens in a large company like this so I highly recommend go to a better place like Tesco or Morrisons in Coventry but this sainsburys not good enough for the prices the head management of sainsburys company need to give this branch a visit not because only the biggest place in coventry city center there are good places near city center after all the branch managers need to fix this matters.

Very convenient store. I alway go there to collect my online orders. Staff is so good and helpful also very soft spoken which is rare these days. Beside that I do most of my basic shopping from here.

Supermarket featuring a wide selection of products. The staff always look very busy but are nice enough if you ask for any help. The store itself is also aways busy however the queues are never unbearably long. The security guards are nice and respectful, and most importantly do not follow you around. Some frequently bought items can be difficult to get, especially in such a student area. Eg pesto, kitchen knives are often running low. But overall it is a decent shop with an accessible location. It would be nice it was open a bit earlier and later.

Always low on stocks, most of the times shelves empty, no customer support, huge queues, only advantage is more range of products to choose from. A little improvisation could help a lot for the general public and the image of the brand Sainsbury's.

The staff is not kind. It is very hard to return a product. They keep generating new obstacles for not accepting a return. Better not to shop there.

This Sainsbury's is one of the biggest super market near to Coventry city centre. I will prefer to go this since I will get all vegetables, meat and all other home related stuff. Every weekend I will visit Sainsbury's to buy all my stuff for the coming week. Highly suggest to visit who are near to Coventry city centre

You can't go wrong with these ones! Affordable...check! Product displays...check! Product assortment...check! Space to browse displays...check! Just be careful of the pigeons outside, Lol.

Dreadful queues! Nobody on manned tills, only automated . A feeling that you are being rushed through as quickly as possible. A security guard that called a customer,: 'stupid' because she couldn't work the automated till and he is so stressed An air of menace about the place. A dreadful and stressful experience. Alway short of staff : that I feel sorry for. Avoid.

It is not a supermarket I go to but I was pleased to find staff who were helpful and polite the shop was bigger than I remembered it was clean and I found it easy to find what I needed

  • 1/5 JDM 1 year ago on Google
Possibly the worst-run supermarket I have been to. The layout of the store is abysmal with very poor accessibility, the queue to self-checkouts often extending the whole length of the store which gets in the way of customers. Selection of food is very limited, little to no re-stocking, and fruit and veg quickly disappear making it a highly unreliable place to go. Boxes and other items are left lying on the floor which is a result of the shop's desperate understaffing, the management here is awful. It doesn't help that the place operates on the most rigid one way system with only one possible exit and entrance, compounding the stupid layout and design. As one of the only supermarkets in Coventry city centre, it's easily the worst option. You might find what you want but it's going to be a pretty unpleasant experience

Sainsbury's location is ideal in the city centre just across from my bus stop so I can pick up last bits. They no longer have manned tills which is frustrating because the self-serve means I can't pack my shopping away as I go because it needs to weigh it all. Time-consuming. Variety and quality of fresh produce isn't great. Good for picking up bits but not fresh stuff.

Lots to explore. Even has packaged Indian food items for ready to eat items. And contains items from almost everywhere.

All Alcohol very time discount price Only Excellent customer service, great variety of items from vegetables . I particularly love the dairy section. You get fresh milk, yoghurt and eggs. If you are buying a large quantity of items carry a strong shopping bag with you. Overall excellent 👌 very time discount price.

It's great to hear you had a positive experience at Sainsbury's Coventry , appreciating the overall arrangement. However, it seems the prices are a bit higher compared to other shops. This observation can be valuable for others looking to balance quality and cost when shopping. It's always helpful to have such insights when making decisions about where to shop.

Good for only a small amount of shopping as they don't do trolleys & as a disabled man l have to carry the basket round the shop making it very difficult for me to pick my shopping off the shelves as l walk with a cane & only have 1 hand available to use.....My best advice to anyone including people with disabilities is to stick to the other supermarkets out there who DO provide shopping 🛒 trolleys for the public & people with disabilities....Sainsburys should know this but choose to ignore it.

"Sainsbury's in Coventry holds a special place in my memories. Nestled right in the heart of the city, it exudes a warmth and charm that is both inviting and comforting. When I first landed in the UK on 11th January '23, amidst the overwhelming newness of a foreign land, it was to this store that I turned for my initial grocery needs. The store's layout is intuitive, making it easy for newcomers like me to navigate. The aisles are well-stocked, showcasing a diverse range of products that cater to both local and international tastes. What truly stood out to me, however, was the staff. Each member was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly and helpful. Their genuine smiles and willingness to assist made my shopping experience feel less like a chore and more like a delightful exploration. Moreover, the freshness of the produce section deserves a special mention. The fruits and vegetables looked as if they had been picked just that morning, bursting with vibrant colors and promising utmost nutrition. But it's not just the tangible aspects of Sainsbury's in Coventry that left an impression. It's the feeling of community, the sense of belonging, and the assurance that even in a new city, there are familiar places where one can feel at home. In conclusion, Sainsbury's in Coventry is not just a grocery store; it's a wholesome experience that resonates deeply with those seeking comfort in a new environment."

Just had a terrible experience at this store. It’s usually extremely overcrowded but today it was even worse. The store stank of marijuana and when walking past the meat aisle the smell was so bad I almost gagged (clearly something was rotten). I couldn’t find an item so asked a colleague for help, she heard me however walked off and another colleague I asked was rude and extremely unhelpful. There was hardly any staff on the shop floor, one was even taking a call on her mobile phone. Have never been so happy to exit a shop before.

Good place to shop but gets out of shock easily. So if you want to buy something just grab it

  • 2/5 Reon M. 4 months ago on Google
Unfortunately there is only manned till left in the store so it’s not really good for elderly and disabled customers

Well... It's a Sainsbury's. There's not really much to say except that. Selection is your standard Sainsbury's stuff, lighting is a bit dingy making the entire store feel like a dungeon, but selection is good. Prices are also pretty standard for Sainsbury. I.e "I don't need to sell a kidney for this, but it's still more than I'd like to be paying". Not great for your weekly shop, but it'll work in a pinch or if convenience is worth more than money to you.

If someone asks me why you love Coventry. I would say firstly: it is the City of Culture and Secondly due to Sainsbury's. I have been shopping since I moved to Coventry and never disappointed by quality. The staff is really kind and helping. I have compared prices with other stores but no doubt Sainsbury's is providing with un-matched quality. Luckily, they cut down prices on few items like olive oil, oats, honey and sometimes chicken and sauces that helps a lot, especially when you are a student and got limited to spend. Keep up the good work.

had everything I needed, queues not too long. i would suggest having more check outs to make things move abit quicker and a wider selection of cheese but lets be honest it gets the job done, so im happy and 5 stars

Accepted my order through Uber eats 50mins later, just before their closing time and decided that they don't have half of the items from the order, because it was more convenient for them. UPDATE: Apparently, I even had missing and damaged items. The pictures show how bad your picked peelers look and the fact that the pack was opened just proves how little care you took for this order. Honestly, not shopping with you again.

It's not a big store and the self serve checkouts can play.up,but the price is ok for most things. The fact it's in town means you.might see a few weirdos about tho.

  • 3/5 Robert C. 2 years ago on Google
Ok. Stores in the city should have the same items as the outer city stores. That way you could encourage more people to come to the city and not use their cars. Of course larger stores would be required

Delivering to store. Something always goes wrong when delivering here. Today's debacle , was the lack of medium length bars for securing load in the medium width compartment, making g it impossible for me to collect empty roll cages. Not a store issue, more an issue with our depot.

Very good store. Here you can buy grocery, fruits, veggies, frozen food, households etc... For Sainsbury's you should install Nectar App. You can earn Nectar points everytime you purchase anything, for that you have to scan Nectar Id. There is another App name Smart Shop. Through this app you can buy items and directly can pay through Gpay. Through this app you can get discounts...

Everything you need from a local shop. Although looked like a whirlwind had it due to rush hour custom... Staff are great and always happy to help, although the fridge by the main door keeps breaking down.. #needs a new one

This Sainsbury's is in a fantastic location in the city centre, a nice historic building, the staff here absolutely amazing but.....I have a few issues here at this branch - I've noticed there's hardly anything out on the shelves - narrow aisles, always busy - some people constantly bashing into you whilst your shopping - always long queues for the self service tills also, people crowded into the queue for the self service tills especially at peak times. Especially after today's shopping experience, unfortunately I'm not setting foot in the branch again ☹️.

  • 5/5 Petr K. 1 year ago on Google
Easy, quick and simple to get some basic grocery shopping. Always having some irresistible offer on alcohol - nice whisky, rum, gin, bourbon...

  • 4/5 Greg S. 1 year ago on Google
It's not a massive Sainsbury's it has a good selection of items, though choice can be a bit limited. Can be quite busy as it's in the city centre but, staff are friendly and its in a good location.
