Awful store. Most mornings there are issues for this store. Staff smoke out the front in the morning meaning you have to walk through a cloud of smoke in and out each day. There are not enough staff to help with age verification on the self service. It seems to be just x1 staff covering the kiosk and self service. Thats not enough. Lunch offers seem to not apply at checkout on some items (items were listed on the shelf as in the meal deal) - I've had this happen quite a few times. Staff arent particularly friendly even when i am to them. (I can deal with that) These are issues i encounter with this store on a regular basis. Although its annoying i still go in as i buy odd bits on my way to and from work for convenience. I dont review often but this store needs some serious management / staff overhawl.

1/9/23- I always shop in this Asda and today was no exemption. I went in around 5pm to buy some bananas as is usual. I noted the price on the shelf and took 4 bagged bananas only to go to the till and find they were priced differently. I brought this to the attention of the girl working on the self service till and she said the price was different and right. I therefore queried why the advertised price was different from the scanning one. On my way out, I went and checked the price again and confirmed the original price, and I brought this to the same girl on the check out. She very arrogantly and with no respect, said that the scanned price was right, started shouting out to other tellers to ignore me. Fortunately the other two check out personnel ignored her and attended to me. Thank you to the gentleman who acted mature. I am a regular in this Asda and do not expect such bad and rude customer service, that girl is probably new. Please inform her to learn some manners and stop behaving like a high school child who is spoilt. Customers come to buy goods with hard earned money and a query should be asked if necessary. Consider customer service training for this overgrown kid.

If you don't cook the pizza in-store don't advertise it everywhere! Spent 10 mins standing around waiting for an employee to slowly open up the pizza area only to be told they didn't cook the pizzas despite multiple signs saying otherwise. Waste of time.

Has a good range of products for a smaller local supermarket, and long opening hours compared to nearby shops. Makes it a good place to get a couple of ingredients if needed at short notice. Aisles are reasonably spaced which is handy for getting around with a pushchair. Some fresh baked and hot food is available too, which is great as a quick meal option. Click and collect service for online orders is good too, doesn't take long to collect an order. There is limited parking, though usually you can find a space. Otherwise there is nearby street parking a short walk from the store.

Update 30 Aug.* No shopping baskets once again at or close to the entrance. Piles stacked up behind the checkouts. Annoying having to walk behind the tills where people are leaving just to get a basket * Nice and clean car park. No Baskets were available by the entrance inside on the day of my visit.

A decent Asda. Has the most of it in store; The slehfe might be a bit weird positioned and the social distancing a bit hard to mentain but per total a good shop. The stock is always there and the staff is friendly; I go here at least once a week for my shopping. 4/5 stars as the tills can be awful at times

Probably the worst mini supermarket in the country. Staff are rude, even when you say hello they ignore you. Understaffed at the self service. Only three cash and card self service where the rest are card only which always leads to the debacle at the makeshift queue with people having to tell each other if they're paying with card or not. Making you feel awkward. Why can't they all be cash and card ? The in store music is often far too loud when you're trying to concentrate on shopping. Very badly laid out all round. Especially the kiosk. Baskets are never at the front of the store so you have to walk past the kiosk queue and round to the self serves to pick up one for yourself. I could list many more annoyances with this store and its staff.

Good little shop with a good variety of products, there is often alot of empty space on shelves and things out of stock though unfortunately.

Excellent Staff and Security personnel. Great to do the odd and sods items of shopping. Only problem is the amount of out of area shoppers it has attracted. Car park and volume of traffic is my serious down point. Renault Traffic van today parked in disable parking today with no idea how much of a problem it made for genuine disable drivers. Very selfish and ignorant driver who obviously only cares about himself.

Great prices but some of the staff are not very nice. Male staff member late 30's black hair, very chubby, works behind the till near the front doors, he has no customer service skills what so ever. He needs customer service training. I will get his name next time im in there..

Good for shopping and I don't think that I got followed by any staff or security

Self checkout machines are a problem as they constantly lock without any specific reason. Stock is a problem as mentioned in other reviews even on essential products.

Visit from Rugby town, to help my elderly relative get his large items of shopping about once a month. Difficulty in parking sometimes as the front passenger door needs to be fully open for him to get out, he is in his mid 80s, and slightly disabled; he has never driven and does not have a disabled badge, so can't use disabled parking, as car park monitored by outside contractors. Shop and carpark level, which helps him, fairly easy for him to get around the store with me pushing the trolley. Generally good stock of goods with only occasional missing items. Problem is checkout! Everyone including the elderly have to use quick checkouts, so you have to be quick and sharp, and have the knack to balance each item on the smallish scale, so some things fall off, then a red light, and waiting for staff to clear alarm. There are not enough staff to open the belt, even when I have asked, when we visit, which is generally around 12-00 to 14-00, because of my visiting time which I can't alter. Shame Store Manager cannot give temporary disabled badge for genuine cases like ours. Generally though, an ok experience.

Looks like a warehouse inside with some cheap shelves and ASDA branding. Its also very small, there are so many better options in the imediate area. It felt like everyone inside couldn't wait to leave, including the staff. Given the profits these stores make, you'd think they could spruce the place up a little, maybe give it a ceiling so you don't see all the vents, cables and pipe work.

I went with my boyfriend a couple weeks ago one evening to do a quick shop. I bought some vegan cupcakes and when we got back, I noticed both packs were out of date from the 24th October ( we went shopping the second week into November!). I went back a week later (as I was ill) and explained this at the customer service desk, when the member of staff didn’t even seem phased by it. He had a very monotone voice and didn’t seem bothered at all that he is working in a supermarket, that keeps out of date stock on their shelves. He said we could “exchange” them for another two packs instead and when I went back to that same aisle, there was another pack of the same vegan cakes, out of date! I ended up having to take that pack to the customer service desk as well. This is honestly unacceptable. The member of staff had taken the out of date cupcakes from me before I had remembered to take a picture of them so here is a picture of the pack of cupcakes they had still on the shelf a week later after I went back to do the “exchange”.

Small shop with limited products offered, it can only be treated as a slightly bigger convenient store, cannot be compared to normal Asda supermarket

Great local store and a super friendly team. Sat, Qiaus, Kieran and the new manager Jo are just some of the team who go out of their way to chat and say hello when shopping. A real community store for everyone; this is whats needed in Cheylesmore, not another faceless non caring supermarket.

This is the 4th time of bein in this store and there not be any milk .... absolutely nothing. I don't wanna hear about supply issues because I go to the local shops further up the road and their fridges are full. So clearly the issue is the person doin the ordering , maybe implement some training on how to do an order effectively

The few times I visited they were more interested in dealing with parcels than serving the queues and the supervisor refused to to help

Terrible customer service. I went to buy some fireworks and they didn't explain how to buy them, they didn't explain how to use the ticket after buying the fireworks even after asking them. They reply “you should know how it works”. Well no, we do not know how it works. When we were leaving we try to talk to one of the workers from customer service and they only said “ I have a lot to do so bye”. Very very disappointed and disrespectful.

Feels like a supermarket version of a car boot and they refuse to serve you on a till if you’ve not got a trolley. I only visited because I thought it would be easy. It’s a wonder anyone actually shops here with an independent butcher, grocer, off license and Indian supermarket over the road. I certainly won’t be visiting again based on today’s experience

It's a small shop but not tiny which is self serve only, however if you want to buy anything other than the basics you're better off going elsewhere because there is virtually no variety of products. Not the worst shop in the world but like I say I wish they stocked a bigger range of products as they're our closest shop and we're consistently frustrated that they don't have certain things we need.

Unlike the bigger Asdas I have been to this is like a tesco express version, not much of choices, but you get most of Vegetables oil and groceries, bakery, no toilets, 15 car parks

A smaller Asda but still large enough to be able to do a good shop. Good range and quality of fresh food, cashpoint outside, and never failed to park there when I’ve driven.

Good small Asda, convenient location, car park is small but ok. The flowers do look like they are crammed in the buckets and can look battered or crushed sometimes.

Apart from having only three cash and card self service tills and the rest are card only...during the pandemic it was a life saver, the prices are good and on average the stock is good too.

  • 4/5 Clive P. 2 years ago on Google
The store is managing to keep their shelves mostly stocked...a great effort. Also, the queues at the self checkouts are not too bad 👏😎

  • 1/5 John B. 2 years ago on Google
No staff slow service and that was just self service waited for alcohol authority at checkout seemed like an age Awful. Absolutely useless.
