Impossible not to visit, while in or near Unhais da Serra. Great food, and differentiated ambiance. A must.

Love the outfits of the staff, the little touches in the restaurant, like the weight mechanism to lock the toilet doors etc. There was also a really interesting talk about the legendary figure out Viriato in the middle. Must importantly, the food was terrific. Some of the best examples of game and other mountain dishes I've had, served alongside an extensive wine list, much of which is from the region. Friendly, efficient service was also appreciated.

My family and I visited the restaurant on the 26th of august. All was good until one of the waiter did not allow me and my son decided to go upstairs just to see what is there, because the interior of the cafe was really nice. Then, when we were served the dishes, the waiter asked me to turn the sound of the cartoons down. Which was already really low in order not to disturb other visitors. Such an appropriate experience happened with me and my family for the first time. Just for other guests to know — kids are not welcome there.

I tried deer with red fruits... Very good! The staff is 5*. Very nice and attentive to customers needs. During the dinner we also had the pleasure of seeing a theatrical performance recounting the legend of Viriato, the 1st Portuguese hero, who gave the restaurant it's name. For price range please see the menu. We were a big group and I do not recall the precise price/ person.

What a unique experience. Four of us went and all had different dishes, and they were all great. Wild boar, deer, veal and side dishes were well cooked and tasty. We had chocolate cake and pumpkin pie for desert. Lovely building, great atmosphere and a historical tale included. Highly reccomend. 👍

Very good food and extremely friendly staff. The restaurant is themed of a local hero Viriato... Almost everything has a touch of that theme. Nevertheless, the food is the main attraction. Traditional, well made and in generous portions. Fairly priced... We paid 76eur for 5 persons (drinks were water and one beer) and we were struggling to eat all that we ordered. Recommended; but try and check if they have seating available before you go.

Great and attentive service and definitely an experience to recommend. The meat that my boyfriend had was great, the wine was perfect, and the desserts also good. I was only a bit disappointed with my fish dish, but the rest was worth 5 stars! Great team working there!

It's not often that I write restaurant reviews, but Lenda Viriato was an outstanding experience from start to finish ! It was difficult to make a choice for our main courses as they all looked interesting. Although the restaurant was busy, the service was excellent, as was the food and we thought the price was very good given the excellent quality ! Definitely to be recommended.

Great restaurant with fantastic set-up and decoration, nice owners and service. We tried the tournedos and bife and it was generous and delicious.

Great experience at Lenda Viriato. We had the wild boar with chestnuts and the venison with forest fruits and both were simply excellent. Combined with a fine selection of local and national wines, this place is absolutely worth it for the food and drink alone. But the great ambience (no TV! Viriato!) and super attentive staff really made this a special occasion. Most highly recommended.
