I booked this hotel for me and my family of 4 (2 kids ages 9 and 4) and it was a really great experience for us. It was not a five-star for reasons that I will get into later. 1) The Hotel The hotel itself is over 50 years old, it is built directly on the coast right atop the beautiful coral reef. The property is very well maintained, and in spite of its age, one can tell that it has recently been renovated. The facilities everywhere were very clean, and it is clear that a lot of thought and expense has gone into ensuring it is well maintained which is great. There are a few balconies on the main building that have some mold on the side, so it needs some fresh paint, but aside from that, the building is impressive. 2) The Rooms We stayed in a room that had direct access to the beach from our back door, I highly recommend you book one of these suites, it is super convenient to get in and out of and to use your own bathroom. The room itself was one of the most spacious I've ever stayed at in a Mexican resort. The bathroom was well separated from the sleeping quarters, and the bathroom itself had an amazing private outdoor shower and indoor shower. The room was very clean as well. 3) The Restaurants There are 4 restaurants, 2 of the require reservations (Italian and Seafood) and 2 do not. There is no dress code. The Italian was the best, and by far, the seafood ranked second, Mediterranean (Le Cap) ranked third and the fourth I'd say was the Mexican (Caribeno). The ranks above are the same for both the food and service. Generally speaking, the restaurants were overpriced. 4) The Beach There is a small beach as you can see from my pics, it is very convenient as the water is quite shallow, and the kids were very comfortable there, and so were we. From any point on the beach, from any chair or umbrella you could see the kids in the water. This is not the case on the main coast, which is a HUGE advantage for parents of smaller aged children. The other nice thing is that this beach is private. Nobody is there except the hotel guests and since the main activity in Cozumel is Scuba, there are even less people on the beach! We never had to fight for an umbrella, or bump into people in the water. Oh and the water was amazing, clearest I've ever seen in Mexico. Conclusion: I would recommend this hotel. The only knocks are the prices of the food and the service at the larger restaurants, they appeared to be short staffed, like the rest of the planet now because of the pandemic. The staff were friendly, no knock on them, there just weren't enough of them. If you do decide to book this hotel I recommend 3 things: 1) Book the Cabanas that are over the water, they are amazing. 2) Book the room with access to the beach 3) Since it is not all-inclusive, head out for some dinners and lunches outside the hotel for a different experience.

Great resort. You could stay and never leave to see the rest of the island (but DO see the rest). Boats leave there for scuba and snorkeling (need 4 or more in a party). 4 restaurants there. They serve you on the beach. They have a nice little private beach/ cove. They have entry on either side of that cove for snorkeling and swimming. They rent wave runners. The staff is great! Secluded entry - they control who comes in. Certainly planning on coming back! Only negative i could think of - not cheap (but a great deal for what you're getting) and you may encounter a few entitled American tourists. That's trying to think of negatives.

Not a single complaint. Great location, great reef, great food, excellent staff, gorgeous property, impressive gym and spa, I just could not have been more pleased. Coming back next year for sure! We watched from our beach deck as our son worked on his scuba certification, we were snorkeling over a sunken barge covered in fish and sea life within 20 minutes of arriving n the property. Everything you need is on-site. Great beds, the outdoor shower was amazing, plenty of places to set-up on the beach and spend the day drinking, snorkeling, and munching. Super positive vibe all around.

Though aging, this resort is still an amazing place to visit. The beach and snorkeling areas are as good as most places on Cozumel, which is saying a lot! It's close to town, but not too close to the crazy! The staff is very friendly and do great work. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. We rented a car but could have saved money by just taking a taxi when we wanted to go somewhere. I would love to come back.

This is my second time staying here at the Presidente and I love it here. The property is beautiful and offers everything. I come down here to scuba dive, read and write solo. The dive shop, Scuba Du, is the best. The team they have working there is incredible and it’s a pleasure to go out on the boat with them daily. They make my life so easy, really all I have to do is show up. But first I have the amazing complimentary breakfast at El Caribeño, which is the best I’ve ever encountered. The hotel staff is fantastic, super accommodating, friendly and very helpful. I get to watch the sunset from a choice of 4 restaurants, but I like listening to Antonio the guitar player when he is at El Caribeño. The spa is beautiful as well. I love taking full advantage of the gym, which has a lovely garden view. I enjoy my stays here, not only because of all this, but also because it is a relatively quiet property. It is the perfect place to enjoy Cozumel. I have been very happy with everything here, especially the safety protocols. Treat yourself, enjoy world class diving and service It’s worth it.

I stayed at this hotel with my mother in April 2023. Unfortunately, our vacation was ruined by the food poisoning both me and my mother got within hours after eating a mushroom soup at the Italian restaurant at the property. We got extremely sick with severe diarrhea and vomiting and could barely leave the room for the following 2 days. And we came to spend only 6 days at the resort. I let the property manager know about the situation the next morning after the fateful dinner. The staff was instructed to help us with recovery and brought food/water to the room free of charge, although we couldn't eat anything. Charges for the dinner which poisoned us were removed. However, beyond that the hotel management did not think much needed to be done. We lost 2 full days of vacation in a very expensive resort that we paid for, could not do things that we planned and I had to spend extra money on medicine/food/cabs etc. to get me and my mom what we needed. Since my mother is an elderly person, given how badly the food poisoning affected her, I had to upgrade her flight to business class on the way back to give her some comfort, as she was still not in a good condition to fly even after 4 days passed since food poisoning. Before checking out I let the hotel management know that I think they should at least refund the room charges for the two lost days of vacation. In my mind that's the least the hotel could have done given the horrendous health scare we went through due to improperly prepared food at the property. In the end they took an addition $100 off the bill (for a total of $200), which is nothing, considering our vacation was ruined and I spent more on medicine, flight upgrade and food that we needed after poisoning. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience. After travelling around the world for the last 15 years, I never had such an experience anywhere, let alone a 5-star resort where you expect a certain standard in all service areas. The hotel itself is a beautiful property, set on a beautiful beach, but the food at the hotel is mediocre and I would urge people to be very careful about what they order as well as check how the food is prepared. 5/23/2023: I am making an update to my review and changing the rating to 1 star as I cannot believe the response I received from the hotel representative. Apparently, getting food poisoning at the hotel is not the hotel's fault and ending up with severe vomiting and diarrhea all night after eating at one of hotel's restaurants is part of the 'service' provided. Outrageous and complete lack of accountability on the hotel's part! I hope lots of prospective travelers will read this review and make travel arrangements elsewhere. I am certainly never going to return to this property since providing quality and safe food services at the resort is not part of their priorities. It's also quite unbelievable that they have the nerve to charge the kind of money they charge for the rooms given the attitude. Except for the beach and location, this place surely seems like a scam and money grab for unsuspecting tourists! What a shame!

I came here last month (March2023) and I absolutely LOVED my experience! My boyfriend took me here for the first time and it definitely did not disappoint! The hotel itself was beautiful. It was updated but still had natural touches with, natural wood, stone, and lush plants, which I love! The beach was a lovely 30 second walk from the room we had, and the water was CRYSTAL CLEAR! Snorkeling was amazing because you can literally see everything! The beach was also very clean, which I really appreciated. The staff there were amazing, so kind and helpful! I personally want to name Fernando , Paola, and Luis as their customer service exceeded my expectations. They were friendly and accommodating! This trip was for my boyfriend’s birthday, so I was put in contact with Luis who helped me plan a surprise for him in our room for when we arrived, with beautiful balloon arrangements and a delicious cake. On the last day of our trip he also sent us a yummy plate of chocolate covered strawberries and truffles! I highly recommend visiting Cozumel and I highly recommend staying at this amazing hotel!

We had reef view room - you open the door to your terrace, walk from it 10 meters and go snorkeling. We were thinking also to get beach front room (cheaper) and couldn’t understand the difference… So they are nice as well but snorkel there is hard - current is very strong (maybe just that day), even it’s also 10m to the water. If you get that one, I’d advice to walk a bit to the beach and start there. Food is great! Staff very helpful! Highly recommend 💫

Very clean hotel. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Restaurants were great and a ton of food selections. The beach area and pools were just wonderful and a great way to relax. On the other side of the beach and pools there is a nice place to scuba and snorkel where there was a lot of different fish to see along with a crab and a sting ray.

This hotel is a nice relaxing oasis in Cozumel. I upgraded to a room with a pool and loved every minute of it. The location is great right on the shore with a small sandy beach and plenty of entry points for snorkeling. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the heart of the town and about 20 minutes from the airport. The bellman can call a taxi whenever you need one and you rarely wait more than a few minutes. Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly and seemed truly proud to be working at this hotel. The staff can make or break a hotel stay and the staff really made it memorable. The only con of the hotel is the all day restaurant El Caribeño. It isn't bad by any means but it isn't 5 star resort quality casual dining. This is the only restaurant on the property that has extensive Mexican items but most items felt very whitewashed and meant for Americans. I had much more authentic food outside the resort. All the other restaurants on the property were great.

There are two reasons I am giving the hotel 3 stars instead or 5. The first reason is because of the food. We ate at 2 out of the 4 restaurants here and the food was not good. It lacked flavor and it was very pricy. So for the rest of our trip we just ate out. The second reason is because I felt they were misleading with their information at the time of booking. We were a large group which is why I made sure to ask before booking if they charged a fee per person. They assured me they didn't, that you pay for your room only. At time of check in they charged $60 per person per night. I mentioned to them that they had assured me they did not charge a person fee but they said I could book another room if I'd like and they quoted it at $379 a night. Besides those two inconveniences this was an amazing stay. The beach was amazing and clean. The location is probably the best hotel in all of Cozumel. The restocked the fridge daily and cleaned the room too! The service was also amazing.

Gorgeous location maybe the nicest spot on Cozumel should have been 5stars. 3 stars because despite 5 star prices the customer experience was poor. Upon arrival they couldn’t “confirm our reservation” with trip advisor despite me forwarding them confirmation email and confirmation number directly from my trip advisor booking. Their response: treat us like maybe we were lying and tell us to wait awkwardly while they investigated for for several hours. They didn’t proactively offer us updates while waiting I kept coming back to the desk and asking what the status was to be told “keep waiting” I called trip advisor on my cell phone put them on speaker phone and they finally agreed to put us in a room around 7pm, with a bit of an attitude of doing us a favor. When a customer has a confirmation email from a reputable online agency…you should assume it will get sorted out and give them a room! Props to one of the nice ladies at the front desk for sending chocolate strawberries to the room for our anniversary but no apology from management and no consideration given for wasting 1/2 a day of a 3 day vacation waiting. Besides this the place is paradise photo is from our breakfast each morning.

Make sure to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your resort. This site will compare hundreds of booking web sites and typically will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is one of the best in the area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure will love it I'm sure! Great resort. Not all inclusive. Laid back, beautiful private beach, nice pool and jacuzzi. My room has ocean view from the main room and from the large jacuzzi tub. Ernesto at check in was great. Restaurants are good. The hotel has a Scandinavian relax vibe.

The entire staff was courteous and accommodating. All of the staff offered a greeting and a smile when encountered. Cristal at the front desk was very helpful. If you have down time the snorkeling right off the resort is excellent. The food was very good. They even prepared lion fish ceviche for us when we brought a few back. The over-the-water cabanas are very nice. Room service was very timely. The views are great. The dive boats pick up and drop off right at the dock.

The cleanest, friendliest hotel we’ve stayed at. The view from our room was beautiful. I miss waking up to it everyday and even looking into booking to come back soon. The resort is just beautiful in general and secluded and serene. I definitely have some post-vacation blues and loved our stay here. There’s nothing bad I can say here other than one of the restaurants charged me double for a meal and called to have it refunded and have not gotten any results from that. Otherwise, will go back in the future.

I didn’t give this resort a 5 star review just because of a few staff members that were rather rude. The resort is amazing. We had direct access to the beach. And the snorkeling was fantastic. This resort is shown as all inclusive on many websites. THIS IS NOT AN ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT. But many travel sites claim it is. Nice place.

We recently returned from a short stay at Presidente Cozumel and we had a wonderful time. The setup of the property is really great. The main pool right next to the beach swimming area was neat and we enjoyed having the ocean view right from the pool. We had no trouble finding chairs with shade at the beach or the pool any day during our stay. We booked the "Romantic Getaway" couples massage and although somewhat pricey, it was a really good experience. The massage itself was great but the private hot tub after really made the experience. We also enjoyed the pools at the spa all to ourselves as no one else was using them at the time. I highly recommend booking a snorkeling trip through the dive shop at the resort. It was inexpensive and an overall really cool experience. There were only 4 of us on the boat so it felt like a private charter. Starfish alley was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen! Also it was interesting to get a view of the other resorts and hotels during the boat ride. It is very evident that Presidente is one of the best properties on the island. The only hiccup during our stay was being assigned a double bed room even though we booked a King bed room. The front desk did call us back around dinner time our first day and offered to show us another King room that was available if we wanted to move. Ultimately we decided to stay in our double room because we had a beautiful ocean view which the King room did not have. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. I can definitely see us returning to stay at Presidente again in the future.

Great hotel. I stayed for 7 days. You don’t need to leave the hotel unless you really want to explore Cozumel Island. Great staff, food, and service. Snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skis, and 3 restaurants all at the hotel. If you have a car rental, you can park it in the guest parking lot. They have a great spa. We did the Temazcal experience, it was pricey, (400$ usd) but it was a great experience. Room service is available as well, great food and service. The pool is very nice and has a great view to watch the sunset. The gym definitely needs some new equipment. Some of the equipment didn’t work and the smith machine was flimsy, but the view outside the gym is great. If you need a taxi or any kind of transportation, they will call one for you. They have two areas you can snorkel/ swim on the beach. The area next to the lifeguard stand is very deep and has many beautiful views of fish and reef. The other area is more kid friendly, but does get deeper once you go past the Le Cap. Overall I would rate 4.5/5. It’s a very beautiful hotel with many things to do. It’s very peaceful, quiet, and many options of food/ drinks. It is pricey, but very well worth it. I will definitely will be back.

Cozy and private resort for when you want to have a peaceful vacation. Not all inclusive but that's a good thing in my opinion if you are not a drinker. The resort is clean and nice. House keeping is the best. Location is greater and long snorkeling shore

We had a great stay here. The beach is beautiful, calm, and crystal clear. The staff is lovely and attentive. It seems that everytime you leave your room, room service would come in and service the room for anything that needs to be done. The food was surprisingly good for a resort but on the expensive side, as expected. My only complaint is the rooms are not 100% as pictured. The cushions on the bottom of the bed and chairs need to be cleaned. Overall, we would stay here again!

While the entire resort is truly a safe and beautiful oasis, I was more than disappointed how the staff handled my case of severe food poisoning. We spent almost $ 2,000.00 on food during our stay, ate nowhere else but only in one of their four restaurants and when it came to checking out, we had to haggle about the meal that caused the food poisoning. While the manager of the restaurant was informed right away, the front desk would only take the food off the bill that caused it - not the entire bill of that night and nothing for the fact that I spent 30 hours in agony. It seems that food poisoning has happened here a few times (look for other reviews mentioning food poisoning) - something that shouldn't happen at a resort of that standing.

Gorgeous resort with great amenities. Any time people found out we were staying at the presidente they would say it is known that it's the only 5 star resort on the island. There are four restaurants on site which are great, but costly. Much cheaper (and comparably as yummy) to get food in the city area. The staff are friendly and always say hello. Our view of the ocean and private beach area is amazing! If we come back the the island, we will stay here because it is so safe, clean, and private.

My girlfriend had gone to lay down as she wasn’t feeling well in the room and a housekeeper came in and literally SPIT on the dresser to try and remove a spot and then used the bottom part of her dress to clean it. Saw her laying on the bed and ONLY THEN went back and cleaned it with cleaner and apologized. NEVER in my life would have thought this from a 5-star resort! DISGUSTING!! Moreover was really upset to see her cleaning rooms the very next morning!! 5 Star? I’d say absolutely not!!
