There are 2 or 3 other Mexican restaurants in Craig. This one had received high marks so we thought we would try it. Sadly, it did not live up to expectations. The place is roomy, plenty of seating, has a full bar, an attentive wait staff, and the ambiance is typical for a Mexican restaurant. The food even has good flavor. So what is the problem? Well it seems like whoever was in charge of the kitchen that night, love the bottle of cooking oil a bit too much. I ordered the fajitas, and my wife, ordered a simple quesadilla with sauteed mushrooms. As you can see from the images, both meals were drenched in oil. So much so you could not even tell the quesadilla started out as a flour tortilla. I brought this to the attention of our server and his response, translated from Spanish, was "that's just the way it is." No apologies, no offer to remake the meals, or other concession. Next time we are in Craig, we will be dining elsewhere.

Excellent restaurant with great food. I have a plate here that has never been seen by me before and I've eaten a lot of dishes. There's well worth The Visit if you're through Craig. There is some limited truck parking to the West side of restaurant..

My wife ordered a beef burrito and got chicken. I told them, and they gave her another one, still chicken! They gave her a 3rd one, and it was beef, but it h had red chili instead of green chili. We have been there before and we will go back again. We wrote it off to possibly new employees. The food is good and so is the service. We'll see how it goes next time.

Service was great the Mexican food is your general fare. Some plating was very well done . Others like my wife's looked like Gerber baby food was dumped on a platter.

A customer recommended this location. I tried his favorite dish (The Molcajete). I wasn't disappointed one bit. This dish ended up being two meals. Great customer service and overall a great experience. I'll definitely be going back if I'm ever in Craig.

If you ever find yourself in Craig Colorado and you want a really good restaurant in your craving Mexican I would recommend this place

My experience at this restaurant was very nice. The did was incredible and the service was terrific. The atmosphere was welcoming and warm. I enjoyed my stay very much and I appreciated it.

The great place in Craig Colorado to stop for some Mexican food. The beer is ice cold and comes with frozen mugs. The waitress was amazing and the food came quickly. I will be back

Ordered a take out, asked the hostess about what I wanted, I didn't know the name of what I wanted I asked her and described what was in it. She said it was one thing. I got home and it wasn't even close and it was terrible, I had an upset stomach all night. She should have asked for help. I paid for it and then she asked if I wanted change back. To me not a proper way to get a tip. I eat there very often. I won't be doing any take out orders from now on.

Had a tremendous plate of Mexican food here with a workmate. Not bad for Colorado. More use to the Tex-Mex cuisine I’ve experienced in Texas. Food was hot but not spicy compared to what I’m used to. But I would suggest it if hungry for Mexican food.

We were traveling through Craig and staying at the KOA. We asked a friend who travels there frequently for work for a restaurant recommendation and Vallarta's is what we got. I think it might be the Best Mexican food I've ever had and we eat Mexican food a lot. The green chili is out of this world. We ended up having both lunch and dinner there.

This place is fantastic. The service was amazing, friendly, and fast. It was the best Mexican food I've ever had, hands down. The salsa was perfect. 10/10 definitely recommend

It was Truelly amazing. I went expecting your typical Mexican restaurant and left promising myself I will visit every time I'm in the neighborhood. The food was outstanding, the service is next to perfect and the atmosphere is totally relaxed. If you're in the area, I say skip everything else and make it a point to try Vallarta's out. You won't be disappointed.

This was sadly disappointing. The art was spectacular however the food was bland as well as the presentation. Portion size was small at best. Everyone was friendly but sadly this is not enough for us to go back.

We came ftom California to bring my son to college. We stopped here to eat, figuring it was good because the parking lot was full. Boy were we right! The food was amazing. Authentic and so tasty. A must to eat at if in Craig or driving through. They even make their own flan dessert.

Big portion sizes. Friendly staff and good prices. A bit slow of service even when not busy but not a bad place to stop for lunch or dinner

The dining room was full, so we decidedly to sit at the bar and have a couple of beers with our chimichanga and quesadilla that we ordered. They served us complimentary chips and fresh Salsa while we waited for our food....which was served quickly. And delicious.

Service was pretty bad, had to request a server/waiter even though there were more than enough staff around. Food was pretty good and enjoyed the tamale and refried beans but the carna asada/chicken was not great.

Easily the best Mexican food in town. Expansive menu. Cleanliness of the restaurant leaves something to be desired and service can be very uneven depending on who is waiting your table. Often see staff standing around but not your person.

Pleasantly surprised by the flavorful Mexican food! Restaurants in small towns can really be hit or miss... Our entire party thoroughly enjoyed their dishes and margaritas. I would have given one more star had it not been for the slow service, they weren't even busy...

Ate here 2X in 2 days. First server was good, margarita was great. Second server was more interested in the outdoor tables. She neglected those of us inside, forcing me to get my own drink refill, and 3 other people to attend to my table. Food is Good, Drinks are great. Would recommend if you don’t get the same server who had bar/outdoors on 6/28.
