Hands down best gluten free pizza I’ve had. And it’s fire roasted? 😍 got a half pizza, but wishing I got a whole one! also got the tiramisu. Shed a happy tear. 10/10 will be back to try the other pizzas!

Got it delivered to our hotel, took 2 hours to get here. Only positive I can say is that it was gluten free. Chicken strips were very dry and burnt on the edges, ordered 3 separate orders and they just put it all in one pizza box, plus they gave us all the same sauce instead of ones we ordered. The cheese bread was also dry with the wrong sauce ordered. Caesar salad was fine it’s pretty hard to mess up a 2 ingredient salad. For 120$ to feed 3 people I am very disappointed. Will not be eating here again.

The MOST amazing pizza and desserts I’ve ever had. The chef was amazing (thanks Shawn, TX loves Avatara) Brilliant!!! So happy there is a GF Celiac restaurant where absolutely everything tastes incredible. We’ll be back… again and again. If you live in Calgary you need to try this place.

The Crusty Cowboy may be the greatest vegan pizza I've ever had. Friendly, quick service, and absolutely delicious. Thank you for the greatest meal I've had in Calgary, I will definitely be back 🙏

Quite literally some of the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had, let alone best in the city. The crust is crunchy and doesn’t have the obnoxiously chewy texture of a lot of gluten free crusts, and the flavour combinations they make are incredible. The best part, though, is that you’re getting an actual whole gluten free pizza (at LEAST 12”, not some lame 8” sadness), often with 7+ delicious toppings, for the same price as you’d pay for a full-gluten pizza elsewhere. I will absolutely be back!

Best dedicated GLUTEN FREE place! I have gluten sensitivity, and they have deep knowledge about gluten free and celiac. All menus are gluten-free, so there is no risk of cross contamination. The owner ishan was super friendly and helpful, he recommended us Crusty Cowboy pizza and Mac&Cheese, it was awesome. We are going to try every menu they have for sure. Thank you ishan! Been here more than a dozen times. Best gluten free pizza place in the city. Lots of dairy free options and you don’t have to worry about cross contamination. They have more than just pizza too and loads of desserts. I left the Calgary Flames game late the other night, I called in and Dee answered. He stayed open late for me to make some pizza and chicken fingers. Great service, great food, good prices and awesome environment. Not to mention they are at the stampede!! 10/10 recommend this joint.

This is a great flatbread style pizza. And it’s gluten free. We had the T-Rex and cheese sticks. Both were very good. Friendly ambiance, nice place to dine in. We also ordered a Maui as a take and bake.

This was an epic find while passing through Calgary! Very tasty vegan and meat options, on-time delivery, and food was hot on arrival. We ordered gluten-free pizza with vegan cheese - the best we’ve had! - and some ribs and turkey. Website order was quick and easy.

Avatara pizza is amazing! Their gluten free pizza was so tasty, not dry at all and the crust was so tasty when fired in their oven! Their gluten free chicken fingers were amazing, so crispy! The service here was just outstanding, I will definitely be back :)

Update: The GM called me to discuss this issue. He left a really great message and took accountability for his employee's mistake. He said he went over safety protocol with him and stressed the importance of using different cutters. I appreciate that he took this issue seriously, and therefore I have adjusted my rating accordingly. My star rating is based on how this restaurant is not careful with cross contamination. I ordered 2 half vegetarian pizzas and one full pizza with meat. When I got home, I saw my vegetarian pizza had a couple pieces of pepperoni on mine. I called the restaurant and he denied that it happened. It clearly looked accidental but now I can't eat that pizza since I am vegetarian. I offered to send in pics but the person there became defensive and didn't want to listen to me. He did agree to refund the amount on the half pizza that had meat but his attitude toward me was unacceptable. My husband said it looked like he cut the meat pizza first and then used the same cutter on mine. This is worrisome for any person that is vegetarian or has a nut allergy. BE CAREFUL. I attached a pic, you can see there are sundried tomatoes but also pepperoni.

A celiacs dream come true!!! Came across this gem looking for a gluten free bite to eat during a quick day trip to Calgary. Excellent pizza with great topping choices. 5/5 stars .

Pizza was delicious! Did not taste like a gluten-free crust - it was light and crispy. House-made pizza sauce was great! Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly- but not too friendly, ya know? Minus one star for very limited choice of wines by the glass - one white, one red.

The best gluten free pizza we have ever had. My wife is celiac so nor easy to find good pizza, but it was one of my favorite pizzas and I don't need to eat GF! Service and food was amazing.

Had a great experience at the location in the NW. This establishment is 100% gluten free so as a Celiac I felt safe eating there. I ordered the Maui and the Champagne Cheesecake and they were excellent. My husband had the T-rex and he also enjoyed his. He has a nut allergy and I let them know when I ordered. Of their own volition they took extra precaution for him to make sure there was no cross contact. It was really nice for once to be able to order anything off of the menu with no special explanations (I did still ask the questions). I will be going back here before I leave Calgary! Avatara NW was so good I made a point to come back before my visit to Calgary was done. I had the Aristotle with the addition of Chicken and the Champagne Cheesecake. It was excellent! My husband who is not celiac but does have a nut allergy had the Trex and Tiramisu. They took his allergy seriously and made sure there was no cross contact. He thoroughly enjoyed his food and couldn't remember the last time he had pizza that good. All of the food in the restaurant is gluten free so it is nice to have unlimiited options! Because I am asymptomatic celiac I cannot say whether I was glutened or not but I feel very comfortable and confident with the food preparation and meal I was served. The service was above and beyond. I will be back next time I'm in Calgary :)

Wow! Delicious discovery near the river (and Lic's ice cream shop). Small area to sit but nice local art available for purchase on the walls. It was so wonderful to have gf chicken fingers, cheese toast and awesome pizza varieties as well as other options to try next time. We had Aristotle and taco fiesta pizza. Both really flavourful and loved the crispy crust too. Appreciate the option to get half orders too. There was no tip option on the machine when we paid either. (We gave cash but there's no mention of it which is kind of nice these days.) Wish we had something like this in Ottawa. We'll be back!! 👍🏼👍🏼

We had mixed thoughts. The two of us who ordered the T-Rex pizza didn’t enjoy it at all. Had no flavour, dry, and was salty. Could have used more tomato sauce. The two that ordered the taco fiesta really enjoyed it. They said it was flavourful and had a good amount of spice, and a good crust. Price is fairly high comparing to other places that offer gluten free pizzas. The pizza shop we normally go to offers two 10in gluten free for ~$30 (Foothills Pizza).

Gluten Free Pizza!!! Plus vegan options makes me so happy!!! I am now a regular here and gave up my other pizza places. It's that good! I love pizza and finding a crust that tastes and bites like regular dough is unfounded in Calgary but Avatara made it happen and it doesn't get tough and chewy as it cools down or after reheating which says a lot!

What a delight to enjoy a fully gluten free dining experience! There were lots of options and all were excellent! We tried the chicken tenders, the Popeye salad, and the crusty cowboy pizza. We also had to try the tiramisu and strawberry cheesecake. Great portion sizes. So many options for vegetarian and vegan as well. We will definitely be back!

It was ok. Very small portions. $15 for four slices. Kinda tastes like a frozen pizza from the grocery store. But if you’re needing gf and haven’t had pizza in a while, go for it. Super sweet lady working.

Great food and amazing service! Employees were very welcoming and friendly. The food was great and was so nice to eat somewhere that I wasn't scared of having my meal cross contaminated with gluten. I 100% recommend this place! Can't say enough good things!

Excellent gluten free pizza. Very similar tasting to Bow Tie pizza but without any risk of cross contamination. This is my new go-to.

Best pizza ever!! Completely Celiac friendly. 100% dedicated gluten free. We were driving through Calgary and it was such a fantastic place to stop. I’ll be making the trip back again soon. You wouldn’t know it’s gluten free unless someone told you! 10/10!!

I got the Sheikh pizza, I'm not one to usually go for the vegetarian options first but I have to say if you can convert a meat eater into loving a vegetarian option then you've surpassed my level of gratitude for your food quality, def the best pizza I've ever had hands down

Tonight we had such a pleasant experience with Avatara Pizza that we wanted to share. We had an order accidentally delivered to our door, once we received it I called the restaurant to let them know an error had been made, due to covid he informed us that we could keep the order and enjoy it ourselves. Although we offered to pay they said it was on them (which was very kind). It was our first time trying the food and it was very delicious. We had the pizza and some salads and it was super tasty and well prepared. We will certainly be ordering again soon.

Best gluten free pizza I have tried and it's not even close. The crust actually tasted like 'regular' pizza crust, they're very generous with the cheese and toppings.

What a great find! Out on my daily walk, I decided to try Avatara. These days I'm big into supporting local business, so I decided to grab a slice. I was greeted by a very friendly guy behind the counter (the owner? I'm not sure) and we chatted a bit. The pizza was delicious -- I don't think I can eat chain pizzas anymore after this --, and I loved the pop selection. They are one of those joints that carry "indie" soft drinks, let's call them -- lesser known, more artisan brands, I guess one could say? I don't see those in chain pizza restaurants, so I had to give it a try. Went for a grape one. Delicious! Anyway, great taste. That's where I'm ordering all my pizzas from now. The funny thing is, I decided to leave this review because I wanted to call and order another, but then I saw on Google they were closed. But since I was already here, why not leave them a nice review?

BEST pizza, and utterly incredible customer service!! So, I am a celiac from Vancouver, and it's so hard to get delicious pizza from a fully gluten free facility. In September I had a layover at the Calgary airport. I was craving this pizza SO much, I tried ordering one from an online app. However, it's a distance to the airport for delivery - so the owner himself called me to figure out a solution. I said it would mean the world if he could get it to me, so we agreed on a slightly higher delivery fee. But he couldn't find a driver willing to go all that way - so he delivered it HIMSELF. It seriously made my whole month, and the pizza was THE BEST. A million thanks. Please always get your pizza from here!

This is the first (not frozen) pizza I’ve had since I was diagnosed with celiac and it was ah-may-zing. The service was fast and friendly and the pizza was delicious. I had the “Picasso” and tiramisu for dessert and both were so tasty. Everything on the menu is gluten free which gives so many options and com please peace of mind in ordering. Love this place!

I'm so happy that I found this place! We are vegan, gluten free, and we eat organic whenever possible. This restaurants meets all those restrictions (with several options), and the pizzas are great! My partner had the Beyond Meat pizza and I had the Aristotle. The crust was thin and crispy, just the way I like it. They used tons of toppings, which I love (and justifies the price). It was delicious. We will definitely order from here again (and again, and again).

As a person with celiac this place is honestly amazing!! Its great to have a pieve of mind when eating out. The food here is just delicious. We came to calgary for our honeymoon and found this spot as soon as we landed. We came back again before we left because the food is that good! Even if you dont have a gluten allery I would try them out!

Yummy! All the crusts there are gluten free but do not ve deterred. Crusts are light and slightly crunchy. Ingredients are organic and the menu is original. The staff are friendly! The space is small so you can make a reservation there. Highly recommend the smoked Turkey leg! A fraction of the price and much better than what I had at the Stampede.

Avatara is hands down my favorite pizza in the city! Every pizza is made to perfection. The pizza crust is amazing (and I don’t even eat GF), the toppings are incredibly fresh, and it feels like I’m curbing my craving but still enjoying a healthier option! Thank you!

I am so thankful for this place! As a newly diagnosed celiac, I am so happy I can order in from here when I don't feel like cooking (which has been lots lately!) I've tried the Mac and cheese, butter chicken pizza, Maui, New Yorker and Crusty Cowboy. All have been so flavourful! Love the fact you can order 1/2 pizzas to try more than one at a time. Presentation has been 10/10. This is certainly my go-to place for takeout!

Such amazing food! My girlfriend is a celiac and it’s too expensive to order separate meals all the time so we often share gluten free food. This was the first place I didn’t feel like I was compromising at all. We tried the lasagna and the garlic cheese bread on the first day, and then came back today and had a half margarita pizza and the Mac and cheese. Generous portions, reasonable prices, and local enough that the owner was in here chatting to us with his beautiful young family. Check it out even if you do not have dietary restrictions.
