In a neighborhood full of pricey cocktails and serious dives, this is your go-to old school spot, with affordable drinks, comfortable atmosphere, and hot bar food. Irish curry fries with cheddar? Good. Buffalo wings? Good. Irish nachos with pork? Yums. Really wanted to try the Mexican salad but alas. Guinness, Mexican lager, and Victory Pilsner fresh on tap. Friendly service and easy-going ambiance.

So I must say, I came during the beginning of happy hour after searching everywhere for a good vibe. Everywhere was empty. I came here... No difference. Could be because of the pandemic. Anyways, I settled and I regret nothing. The selection of beer, the food choices, and the staff was good. Eventually the place became lively. Maybe I came early. But regardless, I'm glad I stopped in. The tacos were a bit over price but the we're REALLY good. Below are the fish tacos. I recommend this place for any beer enthusiast but after 7. 5 stars easily.

Great beer selection and good neighborhood casual vibe. Two thumbs up for the duck poutine. Exceeded expectations! Docked a star because the service is pretty bad. Bartender didn’t really know the beer, wasn’t helpful, and it felt like we were bothering him even asking questions. It will stay on my go to places but wish the staff was better.

Deep craft selection. The menu was listed on Untappd, but not up-to-date (eg I went because the Untappd menu said they had Alchemist-Focal Banger, but they didn't have it).

Fun trivia nights on Tuesdays and good food. They have the best beer list in nyc with over 25 options (enjoy reading the captions)

staff was fine. ordered food and it was possibly the worst food i’ve ever had in my life. fries were good. mac n cheese came out ice cold with cheese not melted on the top. pretzel was harder than a rock and to use a steak knife to cut into it. i wouldn’t go back to this place ever again. also— it smells like a wet mop in there. tread with caution.

This was my first time going here and I absolutely loved it. So many beers and ciders on tap to try. The food was really good. The curry sauce for the Irish fries was amazing. The bartender was Lindsey and she was very attentive. Will definitely go back!!

This place is amazing for whiskey and beer lovers. Their whiskey selection is expansive and surprisingly well-priced even for the expensive options. Great ambiance, I'll definitely be coming back.

Good vibes, good beers, good food, what more do you really need? Had a great time stopping by with Kills Boro for the collaboration event for their "I Got Answers," beer with Other Half Domino, but they have a good 20-30 different beers available here and if you're into craft beer you can't go wrong. The french fries are also slammmmmin.

Stopped by on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Great tap list and solid service. Will return next time I’m in the neighborhood.

Fools Gold exceeded the extremely high expectations set by my son. I had a fantastic pilsner. Espresso Martini was great. Ross behind the bar couldn't have been better. The curry fries. Jerky 'chips' dipped in beer cheese. Dang. 10 out of 5 stars.

Fun place. Low key, not too obnoxious and eclectic crowd. Makes partying post covid mighty simple - recommend.

Fool's Gold NYC is a total winner! The buffalo wings are a flavor explosion, and the staff is beyond incredible – super friendly and on point. The vibes are just what you need for a great time. Five stars all the way! Can't wait to go back!

Cosy bar with a great range of beers with sports on the TVs. Friendly, good natured staff and good service. Nice to sit at the bar and escape the crowds. Good happy hour prices too.

This place has great food! The wings were huge and very tasty. The fries were dynamite too! Staff we encountered were very friendly as well. The bathroom could use a little polish, but wheteves 😂

We just randomly walked past this place and decided we would go in. Great decision. Cocktails were amazing and the garlic fries are the best in NYC.

A girl gave us her drinks that she hadn’t touched right before she left. I was drinking mine and one of the bartenders literally—without saying a word or acknowledging me in any way—took the drink right out from under my nose. I just looked at him the wondering what he thought he was doing and after that told him the girl gave me this drink. He let me keep it without hesitation but also didn’t apologize for rudely and awkwardly doing what he did. I didn’t know want to be around those weird vibes so me and my boyfriend ordered one drink, chugged it, and left.

Great bar with an amazing bartending staff. The space is always lit on the weekends and provides for a nice chill ambiance for a conversation over the weekday. Outdoor seating space is perfect for conversations or watching a game.

Ace bar before you hit the LES - we lucked open it in the pouring rain. Truly world class line up of IPAs, sour and rare beers with great service from a busy barman. My partner had a great margarita too. Will try the food menu next time in. Despite the name and the artwork outside, no Stone Roses songs were played which is slightly disappointing but the 90s hip hop & RnB booming from the kitchen was decent! Bathroom also clean as anything, a rare find in the LES.

Bartender Rodger was awesome!! We are traveling from Salt Lake City Utah and our experience here was fun! Decent priced drinks, safe environment and good service!

This hole in the wall is great....huge variety of taps that have clearly been carefully curated and delicious cocktails to boot. Friendly service, and a local vibe....what more could you want?

Last night in New York and we wanted something easy. A short walk from the hotel, great choice of beers, good cocktails, great food (Irish Nachos and fried chicken burger). Great to find a barman (Jack) with plenty of character, who knew his stuff and gave great service. Also good banter. Next time we make it from NZ to NY we will be back.

Came here for a college reunion event and had a good time! The bar went so far as to draw our mascot on a chalkboard and I thought that was so cool. We were seated toward the back and had catered food (wraps and pretzels) and used our drink tickets to get some drinks at the front. Whether you were part of the event or not, most folks in there were just drinking and chatting away. A nice vibe and atmosphere, I'd definitely come back in for a drink and a nice chat with a friend. Staff was so good at keeping up with finished food and drinks! Great staff here. On Site: 1 accessible Bathroom 2 small bathrooms Board Games Only gave 4 stars cause I want to come back and experience a regular day, not a college event!

Nice atmosphere, not too crowded and not too loud. Spotted some boardgames although I didn't try any. Bartenders and servers were all very kind. Large selection of beer on tap.

Great beer selection at this bar. If you like 'good beers', you won't be disappointed. At least 30 taps, plus good can selections to add to that. The bartenders are cool and easily approachable (...what's up Wayne & Sean, LoL). As far as food goes, I haven't tried most of the things on the menu, BUT, they DO have above average wings. Usually, 'wings are wings', but these wings are fantastic. I dare you to try them. Additional amenities include... TVs Board Games Dartboard Dog-friendly

Fantastic crew doing the most during these unprecedented times... Hope to visit more often once the vaccinations are in full swing.

One of the best spots for beer in the city, and a great destination bar that still feels the right amount neighborhood-y. If you’re a self-proclaimed beer snob or a first timer, Fools has dozens of really interesting choices that go way beyond the usual suspects and really elevates local breweries. Great whiskey selection and food too— Great bar if you’re a singleton that’s just passing by, it’s a fun date spot, a perfect choice to watch a game with your buddies, or if you’re planning a party— The staff will really look after you.

The employees are rude, racist, abusive, and pushy. They pushed, removed our drinks while we still drank, and only allowed white people to enter without IDS while people of color were harassed to show id. They were extremely rude, I emphasize this point, as their security guard and staff are extremely unprofessional and makes one wonder if they should be allowed to work with the public. They were screaming at us since the moment we entered. We will never ever ever go back nor tell people to go. What a horrible and traumatic experience. We spent a big bill, and still we were harassed. Why have a business if your employees are this bad? The bartenders were extremely good, but that was it. So sad, the food was so good, but what is the point of eating good food and people pushing you off a chair? If you don’t have a reservation, rethink it. Do better

One of my favorite NYC spots. The local crowd and the staff are amazing. Very easy to get to know everybody! Food, beer, and whiskey selection is fantastic, and they’re always changing it up to keep things fresh. Highly recommend for locals and those in town visiting. There’s also different nightly events through out the week (game nights Mondays, trivia Tuesdays, etc) … I recommend the trivia night! Host does a great job.
