I’ve come to this location many times and it’s my wife’s favorite (happy wife…happy life). They have great food choices from healthy and fresh…to juicy greasy and delicious (the greasy part is a guy thing and I’m a fan). Plus great dessert choices involving ice cream, cookies, waffles, brownies and more! This place is always clean and well maintained…including the bathrooms. The service is always good, even near closing time. The atmosphere is pleasant and the climate is cool. They always get the orders right (well…99% of the time) and they don’t constantly ask “How is everything?” while you’re busy chewing or half-gulping your root beer float (now I’m craving one). Newport Creamery is a great place to go eat alone (you can pig out this way) or with your whole family. The ice creams aren’t too sugary and the whipped cream is made right there daily and it’s not sugary either. So eat up!…and have a strawberry shake, root beer float, cheeseburger and a hotdog for me…oh!…and a waffle with ice cream on it too!!

Very disappointed. Waitress never checked on us, needed a refill of water and she was no where to be found. I asked for my cheeseburger to be medium rare and it was well done. The Bacon Lovers Skillet was absolutely disgusting, the cheese tasted so gross and fake and there was too much of it. That dish was very salty. The only thing from my meal that was good were the fries. For dessert I ordered a Malted Frappe with vanilla ice cream, and omg it tasted like watered down vanilla ice cream. There was no malt in there whatsoever and I could barely taste the vanilla. I’ve been here before to order a different malted drink and it was delicious but for some reason the malt was MIA in my drink I had today. The waitress also messed up our checks. We asked for separate checks and she put the wrong items on them.

Ice cream was very good and was huge for the price. The chicken and waffles however...the waffle was actually very good. Nice and crispy and soft. But the chicken was terrible. It looked like something I got as a kid in grade school for lunch. For the price, I expect REAL chicken with my meal, not some microwave patty. I would come here again but only for ice cream.

I got half sandwich and soup. Not great. I also got some ice cream which was really good actually but super pricey. I gave the food 2/5 but the old man who took my order was nice so I'll give them 3/5. Not as good as Panera but better than McDonald's let's just put it like that. The ice cream is amazing though. So I might go back for that. Depending if I'm feeling crazy and want to spend 8 bucks on ice cream.

Old time memories are great here. 25yrs later still the same great atmosphere and food. The awful awful challenge is still here. Drink 3 get next one free. Dad and I did it back then now he watches from above as I enjoyed a coffee flavored one.

Wonderful little restuarant and creamery! Food was delicious and the ice cream was deadly good. A house favorite ice cream flavor is Crazy Vanilla (rainbow colors, see pics of it in a chocolate chip cookie sandwich). Server was a gem. If you're in the mood for a local version of Friendlys, definitely check this out-- it's tastier!

If you’re going for an awful awful, it’s a fine place to go. I’ve heard claims of thick milkshakes though but this was the thinnest milkshake I’ve ever had personally. If you’re going for actual food? You’re better going elsewhere. The food was fine but didn’t have flavor or anything special. Of course the menu being limited you should not expect much but what they do have you’d expect something better. The service was mid. They were nice and kind but didn’t check in after dropping food off. I guess that is expected at places of similar quality but even chilis they check in more. Due to the thinness of the awful awful, by the time the food came I was half way done with my milkshake and was out of a drink before I was even halfway through the meal. The music kept getting loud uncomfortably then getting quieter which was stressful. If someone sits behind you at a booth seat, expect it to bounce you up as you will feel it. I didn’t expect much either though at Newport creamery so that’s why I rated this place three stars.

It was an impromptu visit. I had a rough day, two medical appointments quite draining. So even though reviews were not too nice, I still went with my daughter's suggestion. I'm super duper glad I did. The cheese burger with bacon, caramelized onions, and fresh lettuce was slamming! Lol. The fries are classic cut, fresh & hot just how I like them lol! My daughter had their newest waffle burger. It was complete with powdered sugar and maple syrup. It was not my thing, but she said it was interesting, not gross or bad. She did say the waffle "bun could have more flavor and was a little messy." However, the fries got five stars, lol! It was a very quiet and calm atmosphere. No wait time except, of course, for the fresh food preparations. Staff was friendly and attentive. So, a pleasant dining experience that I would hope to repeat. Second chances at times are worth it.

Chicken tenders had a odd texture and off flavor. Honey Mustard sauce tasted more like mayonnaise. Server was very pleasant, although after clearing the table we waited nearly 10 minutes for the bill.

Received a Spanish omelet this am with a bundle of stuck to one another, sticky ketchup packets. When I called to mention this as I thought they may not know, the manager Desiree told me they came like that from the company.I asked why would you give them out like that if you knew or why wouldn't you inform the customer? She said that it's not ketchup that's leaking all the packets are sticky. She then told me I was aggravating her which I find quite unprofessional considering she's in a managerial position and supposedly there as a liason between the company and the public. I've gone here for years and was surprised to find someone so ill equipped to deal with the public as Desiree because the staff here is always so friendly.

I got the awful awful today on Smith St. It was like it was milk with a little bit of syrup in it. Couldn’t taste the strawberry awful awful or coffee awful awful. Got 2 both was terrible. Newport Creamery used to be good. Very milky I won’t buy them again.

We showed up pretty late. Not close to close really, but it was quiet. The servers were quite friendly and attentive, despite clearly trying to do their closing stuff. Food was good. Overall a good experience.

I ordered breakfast at 10:50 AM and Newport Creamery rejected my order because they start lunch at 11:00 AM and now I will not receive my refund for 3 to 5 days. I called the Newport Creamery location on Smith St to complain and was told, to stop complaining over food and to make my own food. This female was super disrespectful and rude. She needs to be fired!!!

We had Kiara as a waitress. The restaurant closes at 10pm, but she heard me ask if we cld get something else other than ice cream. We arrived around 9:20pm. She checked and the mgr allowed us to have anything that cld be done in the fryolator. She was not only personable, but very accommodating. If you ever visit this location (Smith Hill, Providence, RI) ask to be seated in her section. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy 😊

Was seated without being advised that there was only one cook. Have been waiting over 45 minutes for eggs… REALLY I don’t advise this as an option. Only 4 tables if guests. UNREAL

I'm allergic to cinnamon and they made it special for me without it. Also, I have a small service dog that helps me with Lupus flare ups and they didn't hassle me at all about bringing her with me. In fact the waitress commented how cute she was. Very nice staff. :)

The wait to be seated or to ask for drinks take so long waiters/waitress service at this location has decreased and also the quality of the food. I remember a few years ago. The great experience I had at this location and Cranston is starting to decreases in their service too. Very sad.

Nice selection of ice cream desserts, many of which are quite good and portions are large. Otherwise food is just average or below average. Service at this location was helpful, fast and friendly. Unfortunately, this has not been our experience at other locations of this chain. Cleanliness was good at this location.

Employees were very friendly but it was probably the worst ice cream I’ve ever had. 2 scoops was around $5.75 and both flavors were very icy. Cashew Caramel Turtle only had 1 cashew in the entire scoop. Cookie Dough scoop only had three pieces of cookie dough, which tasted almost freezer burnt, and the chocolate chips were gritty. It’s right down the street so I was hoping to make it a local favorite but it was incredibly disappointing. Better to get any grocery store brand.

Went Wednesday, the evening before Thanksgiving. Got an awful awful and a sundae with a brownie in it. It was DELICIOUS!, The service was extremely personable and professional. The same gentleman who took my order also made it. Such a nice, guy! Made it exactly as I asked with a smile. I appreciate his proficiency and expertise. Tallish guy w neat braids but, not long braids. Give him a raise, hes a keeper!

They are ALWAYS nice. Quick Service and DELICIOUS Black Raspberry with Chocolate jimmies (or "sprinkles" depending where you're from!). And OMG- the Choco 'Nutter Awful Awful is SO good I feel like it's too good to be true! But it IS true! Go get one! You WON'T be disappointed!!

Me and my family went to the Smith st Location while we were dining I couldn’t help but hear who I believe to be a manager she was white with brown hair screaming at one of her employees, this was very unprofessional as it could be heard from where I was seated had to give my kids a lesson on toxic management and how they shouldn’t allow them selves to be talked to like this ever in a work environment. Definitely will not be returning to this location!

It was a nice meal and great ice cream. It feels like childhood and even though a chain, kind of like a neighborhood place. Out server was fantastic. We had melts, wraps, sundaes and banana splits. They were all very good and reasonably priced. We will all be back. We left happy and satisfied.

We came here around 8 on a Tuesday night so there were just a few people eating but it took a long time for the waitress to take our order. Also took a long time to get our food and the fries were cold. My boyfriend ordered a burger that was supposed to come on toast but it came on a bun and when he asked the waitress about it she said it’s supposed to come on a bun then she left. He also found a hair in his food. I got a burger with bacon and avocado. The lettuce and tomato tasted fresh but the avocado had brown spots and the bacon was way over cooked. He was getting angry and I just wanted to get out of there so I just asked for the check when the waitress came back. She didn’t ask if everything was ok, just gave me the check. I heard her talking to the manager about this but the manager didn’t even come over see if there was a problem. The waitress seemed clueless the whole time and it took about an hour just to eat a couple bites of cold, subpar food.

Bad services. They take forever to have a client item done. And is most people in the kitchen front staff are welcoming client and trying to do the best they can. They should hire more staff definitely.

I ordered the waffle sundae hoping to have a whole waffle with some ice cream on top, but instead I was given a huge bowl of ice cream with a tiny piece of waffle hidden underneath all the ice cream. The ice cream was good, but nothing special. I really was there to have a waffle with a little touch of ice cream on top. I just wanted more waffle gosh darn it. Very disappointed. I threw it out after I finished the tiny bit of waffle they gave me.

I wanted to love this place but unfortunately will never go back. Place was DIRTY!!! There was no sense of pride here. Fellow making my ice cream was pleasant but everything was just so dirty. I would NOT EVERRRRR go back and much less eat normal food. Look behind counter next time you stop by YUCK! I worked at restaurants and all I did was clean because of the place is dirty the food is unsanitary.

Sat for 15minutes inside and no one came up to us to take our order. The place had 4 employees and the dining room empty with 1 costumer at the ice cream window. When we went to the counter to order they said yeah we will right over. Again Sat for 10 additional minutes. Jus walked out. Do not recommend at all!

Came out for lunch with staff and clients .service was great we had 3 different bills to pay one was with company credit card the other was for a co worker who had sent me the money and the third was to pay for mine and the other staffs Ice cream..we paid one of our bill on the company credit card didn’t leave a tip because it’s a company credit card paid the second bill that was my co workers with my cash app card she sent me exact amount the third was for ice cream which was cash I also left the change for the waitress.we were stopped by a worker that wasn’t even our waitress asking us if the receipt with the company credit card was right after we said yes she then said oh because we don’t get paid hourly I asked to talk to the manger because thought it was rude for her to come up to us to make it known that there wasn’t a tip as if we didn’t know that.we understand they don't get hourly pay but it’s not under our control when it’s a company card.
