Our first time here and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The service, environment, facilities and food were first class. No problem parking. Got busy towards the end of our meal but apart from a very loud talker on the next table it did not detract from our positivity. We will certainly be back!

This Toby has recently had a really nice makeover and is now a much brighter more welcoming environment. Food has always been good here and happy to report that the standards are still excellent.

Good food, smiling staff. They also phoned a taxi for me , very helpful. The pub itself looked a bit dated !

Food was nice and plentiful, and represented good value. We have actually returned with other visiting family members after having a great first experience a couple of weeks ago. However today, our experience was not so good solely down to the awful attitude of our server who lacked the most basic of manners, let alone customer service. We had not long sat down when she practically demanded our order within milliseconds of being handed the menu (we had to ask for one and hadn't chance to even look at it) She visibly expressed her displeasure that we didn't have our order quickly enough for her, giving off a hostile vibe that was remarked upon by all of our party. We were also left second guessing whether the server had heard us when we requested menu items or the bill because she didn't even acknowledge or look at us. Very rude.

The staff were very friendly on arrival and someone showed us to our table. She asked if we would like a drink and we chose the bottomless drinks. She gave us glasses and took our starter order. Found her very friendly and nothing was too much to attend to. Cant really have any fault as our visit was perfect

Luke helped us with a large party of 23. He worked very hard to make sure we had a good experience. The food was all excellent except the beef, it was fatty and not good. Overall, it was worthwhile and we will return. Thanks Luke!

Always enjoy going there. Unfortunately the table for 2 that we were placed at was a little too close to the next table so felt like we were dining with strangers and sharing conversations. We went for the roast carvery but this time round the portion of meat was very small. I would say about half a chicken breast equivalent. Other than that staff are very polite and the food was tasty. Would have given 5 stars all round if it wasn't for the above.

Tasted alright. Was the best food was the worst. Had to pay a adult price for a young teen. Which I think is abit pricey. Should be 15 years old for a adult portion price. The breakfast cheap for the all you can eat. But you had to pay extra for drinks. When normally you pay for the drinks with the breakfast.

Comfortable and the food, as usual, was good and the service was great. My only negative remarks are that there didn’t appear to be any lamb available and also no pork crackling. Finally, the vegetables were rather sparse and that section needed cleaning

Been a long time since I was last here and it's looking great. Nice open areas with just enough tables you can move around easily. The carvery was good with 4 meats, if a little on the cool side. But not stingy with the portions. Loads of veg and hot. Poor waitress was run off her feet ! But very pleasant. Will be going again.

Food was great! The chef at the carvery stand was on point and very fair with his carving! Everything was fine food and drink wise, the only small issue for me was the toilets, they had definitively not been checked for a while, the floor was like a urine ice rink!

Great location to eat before picking my family up from Gatwick north terminal as only 9 minutes away. Food and service was good. No complaints from me

Really nice place after refurbishment. Special thanks to the manager Luke, he went above and beyond to ensure our evening was pleasant. Also big thank you to chef Chris - very polite, happy and kind to customers. You have both made our evening more enjoyable. Well done

I always enjoy the carvery. I came with a friend and used the £5 deal. It was fantastic barring the fact there was only peas, no greens at all. I don’t eat peas . Other than that this is marvellous value for money. I am a pensioner and will take advantage of this offer by attending at Toby Carvery many times while this promotion is on. Thank you

First visit since lock down & their revamp. Very impressed with the overall ambience, easy for a wheelchair users. Food was excellent. Warm welcome from Luke & the team were all super friendly. Will definitely go back.

Food was really nice and good size portions (of which unlimited veg allowed as well). There was a modest range of drinks on tap as well. Staff were friendly and helpful and gave the usual expected levels of service. Whether or not I just arrived on a quiet night, but there were not many people here and the atmosphere was very low as there was a global silence in the whole place (except for my family and friends). That said, food was great, staff nice and a pub almost to ourselves. They do roast dinners here really well and overall do recommend a visit to this carvery pub.

The food was pretty nice, there was a good range of meats. However, the mac and cheese was super dry and the bubble and squeak was basically butter and potatoes. The roast potatoes are always good. The service was really good, can't fault them at all. Staff were on it and kind the whole time. There were a few customers in there which ruined it for us due to their obnoxious and rude conversations however we cannot blame the Toby for that. The toilet were pretty nasty, falling off doors and carved out walls with obscene language which you'd have hoped would be covered. Again, unfortunately most of that would be down to customers.

We got served by Darina who was incredibly sweet and provided an excellent service! The food was also great, the cuts of meat were fresh and great. Plus lest lest we forget that during the week its a bargain! Huge roast under a tenner. But the service is a definite highlight. Will come back once back in Crawley!

Absolutely Stunning place, love the beams and old style chandeliers. Waitress was very professional, food was stunning...just a shame they had run out of Ciders on tap...but very impressed overall and would happily go again. 100% Recommend

The issue with Toby Carvery is that you pay for your roast, walk up to the counter, and are served with three or four thin, very thin slices of meat... everything else is just veg. I for one like to have lots of meat, skin and bone, and the staff only provides you you A4 paper thickness meats. Is it value for money? Aside from the above the waitress are lovely, and this particular place had a nice makeover in the last few months.

Served today by Karen great service friendly banter she was amazing in her role. Food was lovely my only grumble that there was no Yorkshire pudding wrap which is my all time favourite. Chefs on the service today were also so friendly and doing an amazing job. I highly recommend coming here

The standard has gone up, £15 for the ultimate and it was pretty good. Roast Potatoes are good but still room for improvement (could be fluffier inside). Carrots were very good. Lots of parking, great online table booking via the website. Pretty good on the whole. We will be going back regularly.

Great meal here, hadn’t been before so was pleasantly surprised - it was even better than our more local Toby. Good service & staff, a nice atmosphere in the old barn end of the pub; all meats looked good. We both had the beef, not over cooked or dry and all the veg and Yorkies were nicely cooked and at a very fair price too…we’d be back if ever in the area 👍🏻

We have been many times before and not had a problem as it is local to where we live, but when we arrived , I had made two bookings online as there was 6 adults, one 7yr old and 3 babies under two, and your policy says they have to be counted on the booking although the 3 babies do not need a seat. I had put in the special remarks box online that the two bookings were family and we were together, when we arrived we taken down to two tables completely separate although one of the adjoining table were finished and were leaving and when I asked could we go there the lady on front desk said no as it was two six tables and were were a 6 and four, there were other tables available for other guests. We were then offered to some area near bar, but not told how it works and that we had to go and get drinks etc,. When going to carvery area to choose my food, there was limited food to choose from and had to ask a member of staff for some more items. I myself work in a customer focused environment and didn’t see this as satisfactory, the young lady was very apologetic but if she had been that sorry we could have been able to use the available tables that I had mentioned in the first place. Also there was two other customers that came in after us that were a group of four but given a table for six, hmm not sure why, these would have been adequate for our group. Please can I have a reply to these points.

Went today for lunch and was totally disappointed. The roast potatoes had definitely been reheated as they were absolutely vile and also the Yorkshire pudding was like cardboard and the cabbage looked dry and tasted awful. If I’m paying for a meal I don’t expect yesterday’s veg heated up for today . Always had a good meal here . The waitress kindly brought us some fresh potatoes and Yorkshire puddings when I complained. This was at 12.15 today . Has certainly put me off going again

Saturday lunchtime visit with my son and grandson. Poor waitress was rushed off her feet. Only 2 on duty ... Great food offering ... fabulous meat and veg and great variety on offer. Toby Carvery MUST ensure they have more staff on duty as it gives a very bad impression when staff are under such pressure!! Great Chef ... lovely attitude ... Would have had 5* if more staff on duty!

Had a good time. Sat in the bar since it was a little quieter, they were absolutely happy to accommodate my needs. The ribs are a little tough but still delicious and the meat dishes are great. Definitely recommend if you've just gone swimming and need that dinner

Lovely food and friendly staff. Would definitely come back here again. Chef gave us a bit extra meat which was good of him. Thank you

Food and decor as expected, pleasant enough. Pretty disappointed with the service, however. Seemed very short of staff or just not interested? I had to wait about 4 or 5 minutes for someone to come to the front desk and show us our table. It was then a game of spotting our waitress to try and get drinks, again later when the last of our party of 5 arrived. Twice my son got fed up and just went to the bar and ordered a drink himself. The place was more than half empty so where was our waitress? She arrived with our bill OK but I didn't think to check it and have since realised we were charged for a 6th meal off the menu which never happened. I left a £5 tip (more than was deserved but I had no change) because I thought perhaps the girl was rushed but she was standing at the bar wiping cutlery and showed no interest when I told her I'd left the money on the table. Part of me hoped someone would just walk past and pinch it then.

Very disappointed, they had no mashed or whole potatoes, flat Yorkshire puds, vegetables were dry and overcooked and no variety. Meat rationed. My sticky toffee pudding was cold when arrived and very dry and hard very much like a malt loaf. Then I ordered a medium white wine, which tasted watered down which we exchanged. We travelled from Tyne and wear on holiday, and decided to call into your carvery, no-one came to ask us if we enjoyed our meal. £60 it cost us. Would definitely not go back there again. And certainly would recommend it. We often go to Toby where we live and have no problem with the meal.

Mostly OK. The roasts were fine. The dessert of seasonal sponge and custard appeared to be plain sponge with an amount of jam added on top. The flavoured soft drinks didn't taste much of anything. For example vanilla or strawberry Tango didn't taste of vanilla or strawberry.

Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Sunday Breakfast was very good and reasonably priced, definitely better than all the rest. Plenty of choice and piping hot. Unlimited tea/coffee or bottomless soda and extra price. We will be returning very soon

I ordered for well done eggs but instead received half done eggs, cold hash browns, greasy bacon. The restaurant note clearly mentioned well done eggs Expectant mother. On call with restaurant staff explaining this situation. The staff clearly says “WE DON’T READ CUSTOMER NOTES” and no apology from staff for for the inconvenience, very disappointed with the food quality and the customer service.
