I absolutely love this place as a frequent buyer and seller. I would have given this place a 5 star review but I have to warn people who you talk to. I was in there Saturday August 26 2023 and every time I’ve been there I have been greeted by friendly faces and had awesome customer service. Until Saturday, I was still greeted and when one of the ladies asked if I needed help I showed her what I was trading in and she wasn’t good with coins so I waited for another person to help me. There was a homeless guy behind me and one of the decided to help him first to get him out of the shop which I understood (lots of valuable stuff that could get stolen) and waited patiently. He then walked away back to his desk to talk to someone and didn’t even acknowledge me. Another kind lady saw I hadn’t been helped yet and asked him to help me out. This is where things went south. I’m younger than their average client and probably don’t spend as much as others but I still buy a hearty amount and in fact I hade just made a $2500 purchase in cash 2 days prior. So this short overweight and quite frankly rude salesman that had the homeless guy leave pretty much gave me the look like I was a waste of time. He proceeded to look through my coins and just said there’s nothing hear worth much just melt. Which is a lie because I had just purchased one of the pieces not long ago from them @$60 because it was graded. I also had a silver mint set I just bought from them a week prior and wanted credit towards a different year. So instead of opening up the cabinet where the sets are he just brings a 2003 from the back and says all I can do is trade. Well the set he “traded” I found out later was $35 cheaper then the one I traded in. Next I went to look at their bargain bin silver and he just kind of tosses it in front of me and walked a way for a minute. I picked out 4 5oz bars because they were at a good price just above melt. When I go to cash out he tried charging me full retail on the discount bin. When I questioned it (because I had just purchased on 2 days earlier) he tells me the price is $15 more then it should be. Thank god for the kind lady behind him that interrupted him to correct him on the price. I’ve dealt with just about every salesmen there and keep going back because of how polite and patient they are with me even though I’m not spending $10k like some of the other customers but this guy was rude and smug like he was above helping me. I will never deal with him again. I wish I could remember his name but if he is the only one available I will not make a purchase especially after being ripped off. Looked at the silver I did sell him and realized when I got home there was 1 more missing then I though he had given prices for. So one the silver he paid me 20% under melt value. Not sure I even want to go back simply for the fact he basically robbed me of $80 and could careless. He was more worried about going back to his desk to talk to co workers then helping me. He’s about 5’9-5’10 and overweight with a used car salesman hair cut. I will find his name out and fix this review but if you come across him just wait for the next person they are actually friendly and take care of you.

Loved dealing with the coin experts. I have in the past and they were informative and good pricing . Decided to bring some stamps there and it was Waste of time. I brought a lot of stamps in and he didn't even look at them . He saw collector packs from target and just assumed every thing else was trash. I understand the collector packs but to not even care to look at the rest was a let down . He said the only thing worth anything was the box. How would he know that with out even looking. 😞😞😞😞

Had never done it before so I only took a portion of the whole larger collection I have to be valued and offered for sale. They were quick and efficient. The rep was polite but indifferent. Quickly and efficiently assessed the items I'd presented, picked what he wanted, and made the offer. I had another item valued but I didn't sell it. I left and went to another dealer. They were far more amiable and quoted me a higher price on that item, as well as another common item that I'd sold at Scotsman. It was okay, but I won't be going back to Scotsman with or for anything.

Came in to sell coins inherited from a family member. The transaction was smoothly and they took the time to explain a few things about the coins as he was inspecting them. I was very surprised at the amount of volume they handled just during the time I was there. While the staff is very busy, they are quick to greet you when you come through the door, and get you to the right person to help you out. I have since returned a few times. Sold some old jewelry and have made a few purchases from them, as well as getting a ring re-sized. I was looking for a specific necklace and they were very helpful and diligent to get it from me, and the price was fantastic. It will absolutely be my first (and most likely only!) stop for all my jewelry needs going forward!

Park in the back of the building door is in front of you. Two doors first just walk in second one wait for the red light to unlock the door. People are friendly. Service is quick. They explain what you have and what it's worth. Cash on the spot. Push green button to get out the door.

Not much display/sales room for coins. More jewelry than coins. Hannibal, MO coin shop has more coins for sale actually. Plenty of staff if you want to bring in coins or metals to sell. They buy cheap and sell moderate (pricing).

Offer pawnshop prices for collector silver coins in original US Mint packaging. The guy said he just Google what it was. Was trying to sell the 2022 Marine 2.5 oz silver medal. Was offered a whooping $70.

I have dealt here twice and both experiences have been exceptional. Superb service, Mary is excellent in her position and they took care of my needs in a better than professional manner.

Stacey is excellent to work with. She is very patient and has a lot knowledge. Do not hesitate to stop by Scotsman. If they don’t have what you want in store, they can order it.

If there were more stars I would give Scotsman Coin a higher rating. I have dealt with this shop for more than 15 years. Over that time, I have found the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable. I have bought and sold bullion and coins at the shop. Compared to other stores and dealers I have worked with, Scotsman routinely pays a higher price for coins and bullion. In addition, they sell for a very competitive price - if not the lowest. I have consistently felt that I have been treated fairly in my interactions with them. I currently live in another state, but continue to buy and sell with them. I give them my highest rating! Keep up the good work Scotsman!

I’ve been to Scotsman a number of times to sell coins and jewelry. I found them to be direct, straightforward, and most importantly, honest. I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

This is my new go to for jewelry repair! My husband and I dropped off my ring at Shane Co down the street for a cleaning, and they recommended Scotsman for repairs of other jewelry I brought with me. Pricing is AWESOME! $30 for the following: I had my tiny, tiny stones on my two wedding ring enhancers tightened, not an easy fix but Denny is very experienced and assured me he could. A missing tiny stone reset from where it had fallen. I had my favorite Native American turquoise ring polished and “reantiqued”. I had dropped it into my silver liquid cleaner, and didn’t realize it’s not technically sterling silver so the liquid stripped it off the black antiqued look and dulled the silver tone. I had a nice sterling/turquoise ring I’d bought for my husband polished to a mirror shine (I didn’t realize when I ordered it off Etsy it has a “brushed” silver look/ think kitchen appliance brushed finish). After Denny’s work it was shiny and looked like a completely different ring. The work only took 4 or 5 days and the price blew me away! So fair and affordable. On a side note, we bought a short gold chain for a special heart pendant, to replace my overly long one. Nice quality and pennies compared to other jewelers! AND- since they have lots of estate fine jewelry for sale in their displays. We were not expecting to buy anything, just looked for fun like we had at Shane Co. We found a yellow gold ring with a genuine emerald center stone, surround by tiny diamonds that I tried on and fell in love with! The cost was so affordable, my husband insisted we buy it because it’s one of those really unique, one of a kind pieces you won’t find just anywhere. Easily a $3,000+ ring new at the big jewelry stores, and only a small fraction of that at Scotsman. Staff is friendly and helpful. I will come here for repairs and future purchases from now on!

Went in to buy some silver for my disabled brother that is collecting silver and wanted some of the lesser expensive pieces they keep in a green case. When I asked to see the case the store representative Casimir let out a very loud groan that could be heard throughout the store because my purchase wasn't going to be enough for him to make a very large commission. I'll never go back to this store again.

I’m headed back to this location mostly based on my experience over the Christmas holidays. I knew kind of sort of what kind of ring my wife wanted, but wasn’t sure. I was helped by Julie who was very knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. I also had plenty of questions about coins and the process of buying and selling gold etc.. Even though it was extremely busy for them during that season, they made time for me and answered all of my questions. These folks make Chick-Fil-A employees seem rude. It was truly my pleasure to purchase something from them! Will be back again and again!

We bought my ring at Scotsman in 2015 and have always been very happy with our purchase. Recently we had it sized down and were reminded how everyone there treats us like family. Highly recommend this jeweler for purchasing your engagement ring! We love Scotsman and will never go anywhere else!

Great shop to work with - made a phone order and delivery was super quick. The folks I spoke with on the phone were super friendly, helpful, and willing to talk through some options. It's great that they have product now. And, their premiums are reasonable. I'm a customer for life!

We have used Scotsman for several years and we always feel like they're fair in their estimates. We we'll keep going back with our scrap jewelry and coins.

I brought in a PCGS graded 70 coin that on their website is worth $700 and they tried to offer me without looking it up online or anywhere else $50 and I laughed at them, and they proceeded to tell me one of my coins was fake and and I just recently got the coin back from grading company and needless to say the coin wasn’t fake in the graded it at a 65 so I will never ever take anything there. I have five or anybody else I would not sell them anything and this is the person that did this was the owner Good luck with these crooks.

Thank you to the team at Scotsman! It has been a true pleasure working with the staff -- especially Jay, Andy and Mary -- over the past years. You bring expertise and integrity to all you do.

I called to get a quote on purchasing $10,000 on silver rounds because I was shopping around for the best price for above spot price. Once I arrived they would not honor the price I was quoted even though it was within an hour and the quote and the spot price had not changed. Then a different person said that he must have said "about". What a waste of time. That is why I called to compare pricing and I was given a bogus price they didn't honor and I wasted a trip. I know silver price always changes but I was wanting them to honor the above spot price I was quoted.
