A quiet place to walk which although short different wildflowers can be seen with a lovely display of Yellow Flag Iris rapidly approaching. A mature managed small woodland. Worth visiting.

One of our favourite local spots for a short walk, this place has matured nicely since it was opened a few years ago. At this time of year (June) it's at its best, full of flowering wild flowers, meadow grass, flag irises beginning to rise from the ponds, insects and birds happily doing their thing. There's a variety of habitats in this small area: a wiggly stream, a hay meadow, a woodland area, and picnic tables so that you can sit and just admire the view.

A small nature reserve with a few parking spots. Nice for a walk if you’re local but I wouldn’t travel far to visit.

Small reserve with 2-3 parking places and no facilities. Recently (2022-23) re-wilded - stream reinstated and ponds added on the woodland, so will be interesting to see it develop. Handy for the beach, and the Roman milefortlet 21, and easily accessible by a cycle path from Maryport.

Quiet place for a quick walk, a bit run down as a nature reserve unfortunately but in a short time there will be a lot of yellow flag Iris's to see and English Bluebells, a short walk from the lovely DOG friendly beach on the Solway Coast.

It's only small and there is not much to see. It is sheltered from the onshore winds. There is a picnic table. No toilets there anymore. There were some issues with antisocial behavior.

Can be tricky finding a parking space, if you don't time it right. Otherwise, what's not to like!!!!
