Handmade pasta, house made ice cream, and freshly baked bread are some of the reasons why Bestia was an excellent dining experience. The flavors were exquisite but not over the top. The Bone Marrow was definitely one of my favorite dishes. For 5 people, we ordered 6 Antipasti dishes, 2 pizzas (spicy lamb sausage and burrata), and 3 pasta dishes along with 3 desserts. Definitely recommend!

Very delicious. Great place for those who value quality ingredients and exceptional service. Enjoyed their attention to detail and delicacy. Chicken gizzard are a must try, very dense and rich flavor. House made ricotta was an experience, soft and creamy with the rustic bread. The pastas were delicious. I enjoyed the shredded truffle, good portions. Great place to share plates. We went for a birthday and desert was good.

The servers and all the staff are super friendly, attentive, and courteous. Can't miss the bone marrow pasta appetizer. That is the most consistent staple on the menu. Everything else is new. The scallops reminded me of the excellent ceviche I had in Lima years ago. The spicy mussels are great and sauce is great for dipping pretty much everything in. Pizza is always outstanding. The chiffon cake was excellent with various stone fruits. The food is phenomenal. We stopped here on our cross-country trip. I'm just loving it, I would love to come again.

Most outstanding service I've been to in LA. When you literally walk to the restroom and come back, your napkin is folded. They fold... your napkin! They quickly replace drinks without us asking. A+ service. Now the food: DELICIOUS! The gnocchi was very soft and paired with the ricotta was perfect, and the bone marrow with the pasta was tasty (honestly thought they were green beans by accident). There are so many other dishes I tried and honestly, all are great. For the price they charge its worth it. Definitely come here for a casual get together or even events. You won't be disappointed.

If you're looking for a trendy spot in DTLA, this restaurant is worth a visit. The food was tasty, but nothing exceptional. The service was welcoming and accommodating, even without a reservation. However, I was disappointed when the bartender poured sparkling bottled water over ice without asking, as I prefer not to drink tap water. (water/ice quality in LA is extremely terribly dangerous) Overall, it's a decent option for a night out, but not necessarily a standout experience.

Fantastic! Deliciousio!! Italian eats of the highest order in LA. Everything we tried was delicious. Stand outs include the bone marrow (which our very awesome server Melanie showed how to do sherry luge shots from once we'd devoured the appetizer), and the lobster & squid ink pasta. Standouts aside, everything dish tasted amazing. Being from New York, I have a high bar for Italian food, Bestia is worth your time.

Heard great things about this place and was not disappointed. The quality of the food and service are top quality, and there's a reason why there's a months long reservation to normally get in. We came in and they followed every COVID-19 regulation - temperature check, making sure masks are on except when eating, and getting you in and out within 90 minutes. As for the food, we enjoyed everything, with the exception of the squid ink pasta. Everything that came out was impressive. Staff was also quite friendly and worked fast, which is why they were able to get every customer in and out within 90 minutes. Although expensive, definitely try to find a reason to make a reservation and come in.

My favorite restaurant in town. Always recommend it to friends who are visiting. Bestia just never disappoints. Bone marrow is a must try. We always order 2 servings. Branzino is my personal favorite. The flavor is really unique with a hint of spice. Pizza is crispy and flavorful. I like thin crust so this is just perfect for me. Steak is not the best I’ve had though.

From start to finish my meal at Bestia was one of the best and most enjoyable that I can recall. Our server, Christian was an absolute delight. The entirety of the staff were accommodating and welcoming. The atmosphere was fun and happy. So even without the stunning food it was already a win. We ordered several dishes including the scallops, gnocchi, sourdough lamb ragu, Gorgonzola pizza, and pork loin. Nothing was less than amazing. My personal favorite was the gnocchi. But it’s so difficult to decide. The cheesecake was also ridiculous. My wife and I will be dining here at least once a month. It is incredible.

I am a tourist from Canada and had been eagerly anticipating my visit to Bestia restaurant for a long time. However, upon arriving, I was disappointed with the initial seating arrangement. Despite booking a table two months in advance, we were given a table outside the restaurant, next to the waiting area where people were constantly standing next to us. As a family with a baby, this was not acceptable and we had to ask for an alternative location. Throughout the night, I noticed that this table was consistently given to Asian families. While I appreciate that seating arrangements may be limited, it was disappointing to see a pattern of segregation. As a tourist who had planned this visit for a long time, it was a letdown to experience such an issue. Despite this initial setback, the restaurant staff were accommodating and provided us with a better spot. The food was fantastic, but the seating arrangement issue left a sour taste in our mouths.

Great atmosphere! This is the second time I have had dinner, and I want to give it 5 stars, but I just can't. The scallop appetizer was delicious, and the melding of flavors was on point. I was disappointed in the pasta, which was very small and sweet. It literally tasted like Thanksgiving dinner rolled up in a tiny pillow. This might sound good, but it was not what I was expecting, and it just felt a bit off. The donut and ice cream dessert was delicious. Service was very slow, but she was lovely whenever she did drop by the table.

It's one of the best places to visit I LA hands down. Service was quick and gave excellent recommendations. Kid friendly menu and everything was delicious. The drink choices were unlimited, and everything was cooked for perfection. Our favorite course was the bone marrow. It was a great start to a wonderful dining experience. The pork was well seasoned and piping hot. The pizza was seasoned just right with a great amount of sauce. They also had refillable drink options, but not many.

foods were very nice and great quality, and their wine list was great as well. Their staffs are hard workers and they tried to help you rapidly. It was for our anniversary for 2 people, and dining atmosphere was not really great. It was very very noisy, and dining tables are very compact. They gave us very tiny table looks like squeezed on the corner of aisles. Don’t go with small group, otherwise you’ll get very tiny space. Don’t ever expect social distance there as well, it’s literally a feet distance between next dining team. Maybe okay to hang out with friends, but not for nicer purpose. Even though they get too much guests, it’s still very difficult to book the table there. There are a lot more nicer mood restaurants around art district area with lower price. However, food was very great again, we’d like to go there one day.

This place is such a banger. It’s so hard to get a reservation but you’ll be glad you did. The scallop and the bone marrow pasta and the truffle pasta and the branzino were home runs. Service is good, not fine dining level but it’s still good. The venue is crazy loud, full of people talking and the echo effect is too much. They also blast old school hip hop music so you’ll have to shout to your date. Two single washroom only. Do not drink too much alcohol or do not come if your stomach isn’t well. There is always a 6-8 people queue waiting for 15 minutes to go washroom. Trust me, I warned you.

Wow. This is one of the best restaurants in La and guaranteed to have one of the best meals out here. Great vibes, I love the fact that from the outside looking in, you'd have no clue it's an amazing restaurant... no sign out side makes it feel kinda like your about to enter a Brooklyn warehouse party or a speak easy... I definitely got warehouse vibes inside too.. and I dug every second of it, not the comfiest of chairs when sitting on the high top... granted I'm 6'3. The food was lights out amazing, the pizza was unreal, light and airy crust, explosion of flavors with every bite. Best pork chop, I've ever had in my life.. and wow that scallop crudo was a bite that u wish to have again. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, get lots of it and share it all!

Bestia is a perfection. It was a perfection on ALL LEVELS when it just opened and years later got even better. Everything is superb here, from food to a wonderful staff that is extremely attentive and beyond welcoming. All the dishes that we ordered were delicious and full of unique flavors. We can't wait to go back to this fabulous establishment. Keep doing what you are doing, you are GREAT !

Bestia is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. The food is amazing! Simple, but delicious recipes. It’s great if you go with 4+ people so that you can try more items on the menu. A couple of items that we hands down always order are: the bone marrow gnocchi (drool worthy, you’ll need one order for every two people) and the delicious grilled whole Branzino. It’s sometimes difficult getting a reservation, although I’ve gotten lucky with some great last minute reservations using Amex Platinum Concierge.

Great meal, every dish was full of flavors and nicely presented. Music was loud, but I quite liked what they were playing. The service was excellent, quite friendly and helpful, and they paid good attention to covid precautions.

Came here for a birthday and had a fantastic dinner experience here. I ate so many things, but the dish that stood out me the most was definitely the housemade buttermilk ricotta. Each bite of that on the garlic butter toast was absolutely phenomenal. I think you can’t go wrong with anything you order here, you just have to make sure to start with that ricotta. The service was great. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner. My only complaint about the place is that they’re BLASTING the music there. We sat outside in the back corner and it was still super loud. Other than that, my dinner experience was great here. Highly recommend

One of the most incredible meals I’ve ever had. Definitely a must-go if it’s your first time or new to LA. Place is electric! Don’t miss the ricotta. Prawns, scallops, and Caesar salad were incredible appetizers. Can’t miss the bone marrow dish too! Ask for a bone marrow shot and they’ll pour a drink down through the bone lol 🤣 pastas all perfect and tasty. Olive oil cake dessert was memorable as well. Couldn’t recommend this place more.

5 stars for the bone marrow and spinach gnocchetti! It was delicious and buttery. You can do a bone marrow shot after they scooped out the marrow. Tartar and olives were both good. Saffron pici, flavorful, a little bit salty. Squid ink spaghetti, love the lemon, it was spicy and a little salty. Bar seats are fun, you get to see all the action. Only thing is I wished the server would ask if we would like to keep the bread and olives before taking them away, there was still a good amount left and we wanted to take it to-go but it got thrown out instead.

Hands down with best meal we had in LA. The ambiance, service, food and wine were all flawless. Honestly as someone who eat out a lot and likes to splurge on meals, this was the best dinning experience of 2023 (better than any Michelin starred or James Beard restaurant). Make a reservation and check it out ASAP and take friends so you can check out lots of items!

My wife and I had this place come highly recommended and it didn’t disappoint! Free valet parking was a great start. We sat at the bar near the prep station for appetizers and watching the chefs make apps was an incredible experience! The food was totally worth it and amazing, don’t skip the desert is awesome too.

is it one of those places that you visit and you just know you’re gonna have a damn good time. It’s like your taste buds dancing in the dark naked on a Saturday night playoff life enjoying the music that is your beating heart. It’s magical. Let your heart and stomach guide your decisions on placing your orders and I guarantee, you’ll never fail. Keep it simple follow the gut, and I promise you you won’t be in a rut.

Bestia in LA elevates dining to an art form. The pizza with basil is a flavor revelation, while the mozzarella dish with olive oil and bread is a delightful fusion of simplicity and sophistication. The fish dish, mysterious yet exquisite, showcases culinary mastery. The ambiance is chic, and the attentive service enhances the overall experience. Bestia is a culinary haven in Los Angeles, where each bite is a testament to the chef's expertise, leaving patrons with a satisfying and unforgettable taste journey.

Sat at the chefs table and had a fantastic meal. The best meal I’ve had in LA at this price point. The service and attention to detail were fantastic. We ordered the Caesar salad, and we watched the staff hand rub each lettuce leaf with dressing, and individually arrange each leaf in the bowl (and it wasn’t a small salad). The pizza was fantastic and the branzino was our favorite. It was incredibly flavorful without overpowering the fish. Parking is $12 for valet. I would not recommend parking on the street. We saw cars on the street being vandalized not too far away.

Went on a Sunday night gals date night dinner at Bestia. Has been in my to go list before the pandemic, finally able to get a reservation a month advance. Overall everything are good and definitely will be back. Pasta dishes got a little bit in the salty side. Great food, great service. Appetizers: Ricotta Cheese, chicken gizzards & mussel *the breads with the appetizer are so good! We asked for extra but it cost $4 for 2 slices, FYI Pizza: burrata pizza (very fresh pizza and love the bread crust, *Came out at the end and got comped by the house) Pasta: (again a bit over salted) Squid link chitarra (I wish the lobster piece is bigger, they chopped way too small, lost the texture of the lobster meat) Cavatelli alla Norcina (love the texture of the cavatelli)

Highly suggest making reservation. When the food is this good there’s no question why there’s always a line of people waiting. Sat at the bar by the pizza oven for the first time to try it (I’ve been to bestia before, just not sat in this section). The waitress fair warned us it gets a little Smokey and sure did. It’s best to sit at the bar right when you walk in or one of the other tables. The food was incredibly delicious as always. The server was friendly and the food came out quickly. Some things were not available as they sold out (our fault for making a 10pm reservation) but I prefer that knowing the food is always high quality and super fresh.

Food was awesome with vibrant flavors!!! Great atmosphere and hip vibes at the restaurant. However, tables were very close proximity and noise level is high- not a great place to chat/ relax for group (more than 2 people). However it would be great place for date night. For 4 people, we ordered 3 appetizers, 2 pasta, 1 pizza. I would definitely order more pizza next time than appetizers.

It's worth it to go in bigger parties, since most dishes are for sharing. Reservations are a must. Menu changes from time to time. Service was attentive and very fast (maybe too fast, even). Great wine list. Most importantly, the food itself is worth the detour!

Perfect! This place blew me away. Best Ceaser salad I've ever had. Los Angeles traffic sucks, but don't let that stop you from spending $100 on a round trip for a 15-mile 2 hour UBER just to experience this place. Out of the 60 restaurants I visited in 2023, Bestia was my favorite experience.

  • 5/5 Chase N. 2 years ago on Google
This is some of the best food I've had in LA. I'd put it up against any Michelin starred restaurant in the city. I tried a few things and loved the flavors of what I sampled. If you haven't been here you should go.

So much fun with food that was over-the-top delicious!!!! Service, impeccable!!!! The Caesar salad was the best I ever had. .. the mushroom pasta was sinful.... And the apple cider donuts melted in our mouths! Can't wait to return.

Birthday dinner here. 4 out of 5 dishes were spectacular. One was just really good. The wait can be a pain, but that happens when a restaurant is this high in demand. Once you're seated and your server comes by though, you're golden. The servers and all the staff are super friendly, attentive, and courteous. Can't miss the bone marrow pasta appetizer. That is the most consistent staple on the menu. Everything else is new. The scallops reminded me of the excellent ceviche I had in Lima years ago. An LA cult classic that actually lives up to the hype. Anticipate making your reservation far in advance, as it can be quite booked out. I’m surprised this place doesn’t have some sort of Michelin recognition, as it is definitely at that level, in my humble opinion! Everything from the salad to the pizza and pasta was insanely delicious. We sat at the counter, which was extra fun because we got to watch the chefs prepping everything with such care and attention. My absolute favorite that I still dream about is the Chestnut Agnolotti. It is easily one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had, including everything I’ve had in Italy!!

The food was so fresh and tasty! Amazing! The drinks were flavorful and yet still had a healthy vibe to it. The atmosphere was date night friendly or even just a perfect hangout spot. You can dress up or dress down either would be perfect.

Really enjoyed coming here last Monday night. We came to celebrate me graduating my Master's degree! The atmosphere was up-beat and they were busy, especially for a Monday. The food and drinks were delicious. We loved the ricotta appetizer. I also got wine pairing with each course and it was perfect. I really enjoyed our evening and hope to return some day!

  • 4/5 Syd C. 2 years ago on Google
I made a reservation a couple weeks to a month prior before coming to bestia. We had a reservation at 5:15 PM, and were seated right when the doors opened at 5 PM. We got to sit outside on the side patio which was a very nice experience. We started off with the Housemade buttermilk ricotta which was $16 and absolutely delicious. The ricotta literally melts in your mouth!! I also got the roasted Marrowbone for $22. The spinach gnocchetti was delightful and the crispy breadcrumbs added a great texture to the dish. The Spicy lamb sausage pizza ($21) was probably the highlight of my night. I have literally been dreaming about the next time I’ll be eating this pizza again.. We ended with the Cavatelli alla Norcina pasta ($35) which was pretty good! The pictures of this pasta definitely looks much better than the actual dish. It was pretty underwhelming for the price point, but it was well seasoned and the black truffle was a nice touch. Overall, I’m definitely planning to come back and try some more pizzas and other dishes. However, because it was so busy, our server kept changing and we were never sure who we would be speaking.

  • 2/5 Christine S. 2 years ago on Google
I’ve been here several times over the years and need to stop allowing myself to be dragged here. There are just so many better options in terms of price, food, and ambiance. My biggest gripe with Bestia is that it is SO loud. At our last visit, we sat at the farthest side of the restaurant (close to the pizza oven). The only way to hold a conversation is to shout the entire time. Despite being situated right next to where the servers would input orders, it was still quite difficult to flag down our server. Their pasta dishes and roasted bone marrow appetizer were good, but other dishes (namely the lamb neck) were largely uninspired.

When we made a reservation, we thought it would have been indoor seating, but when we arrived, they sat us outside (+ it was quite cold that night). So keep in mind there is a possibility you won't be seated indoors and bring a jacket. But other than that, I really have no complaints. The food is delicious, and probably one of the best restaurants I've been to in the city. The service is quick, despite it being super packed and busy. Our waiter was also very friendly and open to answering any questions we might have. We got the beef tartare crostino, prawns, spicy lamb sausage pizze, saffron pici + ricotta tortelli paste. The dishes that stuck out to me was definitely the pizza and the pasta, especially the lamb ragu in the Saffron Pici. The texture of the pasta was al dente, just the way pasta should be. There is no doubt, I will definitely be back.

Wow! This place is absolutely incredible, one of the best in LA! We got there right when they opened at 5:30 and luckily managed to get in without a reservation; a few minutes later would have been too late. The service was outstanding, but let me tell you, the food was out of this world. The burrata pizza was phenomenal, and the ricotta tortelli was simply delicious. The portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side, so sharing with a family of four wasn't ideal, but next time, we'll definitely be ordering more. And I can't forget to mention the peaches and cream dessert—it was a true delight! We felt so fortunate to snag last-minute seats at one of the hottest restaurants in LA!

  • 5/5 Matt C. 2 years ago on Google
Really great. Seemed like each dish had that one ingredient that really stood out and put the dish over the top. For the scallops, it was the dried olive. For the branzino, it was the chili oil. For the gnocchi, it was the fresh ricotta. Highly recommend the scallops and the bone marrow. Will have to try a pizza next time. The only thing that I might even think about criticizing is the cocktails. Lacking a bit of punch for my taste. But still, really tasty cocktails. For the record, we spent $100+ per person, but we ordered an unusually large amount of food, as well as several cocktails.

Beautiful location, wonderful valet, but it's so loud you can hardly hear the person next to you. We sat at the counter and the couple next to us was practically in our lap. More room would have been great. The food and service were fantastic!

After two months of waiting for a reservation I have to unfortunately say the hype for bestia is not warranted. I am by no means saying the food isn’t good. It is good food, but it is not great and it not nearly worth the wait or the price of ~$142 a head with tip assuming one glass of moderately priced wine a person. I think it speaks volumes of the food served when the server asks what our favorite #1 and #2 dishes were it and they were the appetizers (btw the Peruvian scallops are delicious!). There are much better Italian options in LA and we would not return or recommend bestia.

Buzzing kitchen with full house of guests, food was amazing and we had a great time at Bestia. Highlight of the night was the roasted bone marrow pasta, so incredibly flavorful and every bite is a good mix of texture (chewy, crunchy). Other pasta/pizzas were good, classic dishes but so well done. Highly recommend this restaurant, do book in advance as they are full most days.

Do you remember that scene from Ratatouille's movie where the food critic is transported back to his childhood? Well, that's exactly how I felt when I tried Ricotta Gnocchi at Bestia. It was so sincere and genuine, it brought back memories I didn't even know I had. It's definitely one of the best dining experiences I've had in LA. We didn't take great pictures because we were too excited to eat everything, so trust me and just go!

My friend and I went here for dinner after seeing a play in the area. The wait was very short even though the restaurant was very busy. There is outdoor seating here as well. The servers were all very friendly and helped navigate the menu for my allergies , which was really nice! The food was delicious 😋. We got a salad, gnocchi, pizza and the scallops.I'm looking forward to going again and delving into the wine list!

This place gets a ton of hype. But unlikely many places in LA that get it undeserved, this place is truly quite good. I went here only once but still think about how good it was to this day. Will definitely be making a return trip soon as it’s a place you don’t easily forget. Highly recommend. Make a reservation.

All the food lived up to the hype. The whipped ricotta (arguably my fave), bone marrow (close second), broccolini pizza, branzino, and ragu were delicious. It was crowded and loud which is impressive given it was a Monday and has been popular for so long! Would go back for apps and wine over full meal

Great atmosphere. Lovely staff and the food was amazing. The Caesar salad was amazing. The buttermilk Ricotta was delicious. The mussels were yum but the Pork chop was to die for. A must! And the chocolate budino tart was the perfect ending.

Wow - what a terrific meal. Hip spot - beautiful people and food was OMG good!!! Casual but always hot spot deep in the depths of town - anyone who’s anyone finds their way. Our server was nice and all the staff attentive (our server could had been a tad more attentive w wine and check ins, but that’s ok - she was great enough and nice and helpful - just could have used a few more glasses of wine). The Caesar - might have been the best we’ve had! Scallop app - so fresh and great prep and taste! The pizza - marg, and up there w the best in earth (we took a 2nd one home), the Sugo pasta - delish and very unique in flavor. The Budino - very good, we prefer more traditional style pudding vs cocoa crust - but we ate every ounce! Aperol delish and perfect and I did a Sicilian red to start and then a Sangiovese - both perfect wines by the glass. Bestia, as I am sure is the case with many LA diners, is one of my all time favorites. The food, the wine, and the ambiance are second to none. This time, we ordered the crudo, burrata pizza, and pork loin with sauerkraut. While crudo and burrata pizza were terrific, the pork loin was a pleasant surprise with its crunchy sauerkraut that gave it a hint of acidity. The wine director was nice enough to also show me some of the wine that he thought I might be interested in and gave me an intro of the story behind wine producers they work with. No idea why this place does not have a Michelin star, but I suppose that is good news for us locals who want to keep this place a secret.

I was told this was one of the best restaurants in LA and it truly lived up to the hype. Gorgeous, vibey atmosphere, fantastic service and delicious food. Every dish was a “wow” dish. Incredible, explosive flavors. Such good service with the dishes timed perfectly. A must-go-to place!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bestia Restaurant, and I can confidently say that it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted warmly and experienced impeccable hospitality that set the tone for a remarkable evening. The ambiance at Bestia is enchanting, with its combination of industrial-chic decor, soft lighting, and a lively atmosphere. It's clear that every detail has been carefully considered, creating an inviting and sophisticated setting that captivated me throughout my visit. Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Bestia is a masterpiece, offering a delightful selection of Italian-inspired dishes with a modern twist. Each plate that arrived at our table was a true work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavors that delighted my taste buds. The attention to detail in the presentation and the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients were evident in every single bite. One particular dish that left a lasting impression was the house-made charcuterie board. It featured an exquisite variety of cured meats, artisanal cheeses, and perfectly paired accompaniments. The combination of flavors and textures was a harmonious delight, clearly demonstrating the thought and care put into each element. The handmade pasta at Bestia showcased the chefs' exceptional skills. Cooked to perfection, the pasta was wonderfully al dente and velvety, while the sauces and accompanying ingredients elevated each dish to new heights. Whether it was the luxurious cacio e pepe or the indulgent ragu, every mouthful transported me to the heart of Italy. The service at Bestia deserves special recognition. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their craft. They took the time to explain each dish, offered excellent wine pairings, and made us feel like esteemed guests throughout the entire evening. It was evident that the entire team at Bestia takes great pride in delivering a memorable dining experience. Lastly, I must mention the exceptional beverage program at Bestia. The carefully curated wine list and innovative cocktail selection perfectly complemented the menu. The sommelier's recommendations were spot-on, enhancing the flavors of the dishes and contributing to a well-rounded experience. In conclusion, my experience at Bestia Restaurant was truly remarkable. The impeccable service, exquisite food, and captivating ambiance set it apart from the rest. Bestia has mastered the art of creating a dining experience that is both refined and welcoming, making it an absolute must-visit for any discerning food enthusiast. I eagerly anticipate my next visit to indulge in the culinary delights that await at Bestia once again.

Bastilla does not disappoint. The relaxed yet energetic vibes and the unique combinations and flavors of the food are delicious. I’m Italian, and I know good Italian food. This is not your typical Italian food. Bestia is unique by challenging what you’d typically expect form an a Italian restaurant.

This experience was great and recommend. Made a reservation well ahead of time. Place was packed and people were waiting outside before opening. tried a few dishes and drinks. Everything came out to order. Staff is helpful and attentive. The price is the price, the high standards shine through. Staff recommends a a number of dishes per person. Consider the advice, you’ll still have some awesome leftovers. Parking is valet or there are garages nearby. Busy area so keep that in mind too.

I came here for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend, and everything I ate here blew me away from beginning to the end. First off, the Herb Caesar Salad is NOTHING like your typical caesar salad. This one was from heaven or something. The blend of herbs and spices on it tasted so unique but pleasantly complementary. They also top it off with squid ink breadcrumbs and lemon zest. I’d say that was my favorite dish because it just blew me away. The next thing we had was the Squid Ink Chitarra. Most italian restaurants overyhype their squid ink dishes so I thought this would just taste average, but Bestia exceeded my expectations. Next, we had was the Roasted Marrow Bone. Holy smokes. The umami flavor was very powerful and so good. The gnocchi is made from spinach but it tastes very good and doesn’t taste like grass. Last pasta dish we had was the Cavatelli alla Norcina. This truffle pasta was so delicious. The flavor was light and savory at the same time. Lastly, the dessert was AWESOME. Most expensive restaurants disappoint me at times because their dessert is so average but Bestia has THE BEST desserts. We got the (1) Strawberry Buttermilk Ice Cream and Coconut Gelato Frozen Tarte and (2) Coconut Macadamia Caramel Tart. THIS WAS HEAVEN. THE BEST. So light and sweet and refreshing at the same time. All the food here tastes light yet savory. Portion size runs small but I prefer that because I don’t like eating huge portions in general. The restaurant itself is a little too loud for my liking. The food also does come out slowly and it can be hard to get the waiter’s attention. You also have to pay for parking, but where do you not in downtown LA?
