It is a rectangular square, very striking, when you cross the arches, where the Cuenca City Hall is located, when you enter the explosion of color of the houses and restaurants and the magnificent portal of the cathedral, they delight your eyes and enjoy the entire environment. The streets that go down towards the sides of the rivers are super inclined and take you down to incredible views.

With multiple colorful buildings, it is the heart of the city: city hall, cathedral, restaurants and shops.

Very lively place with plenty of eateries If you are traveling to Cuenca by train or bus ... from bus / train station, there is public transportation available to plaza mayor From here you can do following 1. Take a ride on toy train - 1 hour ride cost 6€ including audio guide and makes a full circle of Cuenca 2. Visit the cathedrals, it’s at plaza mayor itself 3. Walk up the slope to Castillo , that offers wonderful view of hanging houses 4. Explore the narrow lane of medieval town 5. Just sit relax in any restaurant/ cafe and enjoy your food and drink 6. There are often some live cultural performances there
