Second time this year we’ve eaten here. We’ve eaten many times here over the years and the food and service had always been excellent which is why we kept coming back. This is the worst experience we’ve had here. We waited quite a long time for our order even though the restaurant was not busy. Our order must have been sitting, waiting to be brought to the table as it was only warm when we received it. My wife had to ask to have hers reheated. We thought it would only take a minute to warm up but when it came, almost 7-8 minutes later, it was still not very warm probably because it was sitting for all that time to be picked up and brought back to our table. The coleslaw in the past was always fresh and crisp. What we received tasted worse than one of those expired bags in the grocery store that are sold for 50% off. The waitress never came back to see if we needed anything. In fact, the only time she lingered at our table was when we were trying to pay the bill. When we paid the bill with cash, she asked if we needed change, to which I said it was all there. She cleared the table without so much as a “thank you”or “come again”. The entire restaurant was very dirty and the floor needed a good sweeping and the washroom smelled of urine. We will definitely stay away and won’t go back. Terrible experience.

Service/food is going downhill. Was refused to eat inside, upon pickup we decided to order cake and a drink and have a quick sit down , we were not allowed to eat in, as it was for future paying customers. Forced to eat outside with a 2 yr old. We were trying to avoid the heat for the 2 yr old. They threw our cake in a take out container without asking, and force us to leave.. We said we are a paying customer, they said eat outside lots of tables. A very tall lady was bold, and she was bold the last time we were there as she got upset when we asked for condiments forks. She forgot our 2 gravy after we got home. Beware always check your bags before leaving, kids are to eat outside weather you order cake or drink to eat inside. Always 2 sides to every story, this is our side and the truth 4 people were there and heard. We had to go into the heat with the little one. Shame on jacks. Oh ya, paid $27 got a quarter box of uncooked fries, cold too. Disgusting.

This is a restaurant that doesn't appear to WANT your business. Apparently closed for a function until 3. That's not an issue, really, except you don't know this until you reach the door and see the tiny sign as you enter. The waitress at the door was rude and snippy. Who wants to put up with that? We won't be back and I'll be sure to let everyone know about the terrific service!👎🤣

A Lynchian diner reminiscent of Blue Velvet or Twin Peaks. The food is reasonably priced, and delicious. The staff are friendly and pleasant.

Not up to their standard. I’ve eaten here before and not been disappointed. Yesterday the potatoes and sausages were luke warm…almost cold…the poached eggs were hard after I ordered soft. Hopefully just a bad day for the chef. Service was great, as usual.

Lovely family diner. We had the all day breakfast. The eggs were doen just right, the ham was good quality and the home fries were fresh and well done. Coffee was good too. Overall the food was really good and the service even better.

Today the team at Jack’s went above and beyond for me and my family. You see, I’m sitting here in Las Vegas where I now live. My parents were heading to Jack’s to celebrate my Father’s 82nd birthday. I called the restaurant and asked for a simple favor - “Could I at least pay for my parents lunch”. The team at Jack’s made sure my parents had dessert, my Dad had pie with a candle and they all sang for him. On top of it all, they send me the video of the moments. Thank you so much!! I can’t wait until I return home to Peterborough in the near future and can go and experience this hospitality myself. Living in a city like Las Vegas my wife and I get treated very special each time we go out - but this simple act of kindness on a Son’s request - tops it all. Thank you all - God Bless!!

Went there last minute with about 10 of us for breakfast. Seated us right away and great friendly service. Food was tasty and plentiful.

A very nice location for a great meal of Fish & Chips. Friendly service and proper process for in-doors dining amidst COVID. Guests were distanced to tables which are well apart. They also have plexi-glass dividers setup between tables. There is also an option of sitting in the patio. We ordered the Captain's special - portion size was definitely good for two people. We really loved the Chowder! Simply a delightful bowl to enjoy on a chilly day! The Calamari was also a nice start to the meal. Overall enjoyed our meal there! Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

Attentive and friendly staff. A lot of menu variety and everything is fabulous! Highly recommend the fish & chips, liver & onions, and breakfast 🥞🥓
