East Ridge at Cutler Bay

Retirement community Assisted living facility

😠 My mother has lived in independent living at East Ridge for 21 years. For the first 10 years when East Ridge was owned and operated by the Lutheran Church it was a wonderful place to live. The community was five stars and a great neighborhood to call your own. However, since a for-profit corporation... People often mention East, Ridge, care, mother, staff, community, clean, years, good, home,

My mother has lived in independent living at East Ridge for 21 years. For the first 10 years when East Ridge was owned and operated by the Lutheran Church it was a wonderful place to live. The community was five stars and a great neighborhood to call your own. However, since a for-profit corporation, Santa Fe, bought and began to operate East Ridge the community has declined substantially. The cost of living there has risen significantly and the services have decreased substantially. High turnover in staff, limited full time staff, difficult to reach anyone to get anything done, the food is not good and their attention to and care of their residents is not good. Do not consider living here.

Nothing is ever perfect, but this is close. Love my community, my neighbors, my apartment, the staff, the services, the food, the lifestyle and on and on...The lifestyle is especially enjoyable because I still work. This is a wonderful option for the still employed, you come home, get your dinner and kick off your shoes. No worries about cooking, cleaning, or being taken advantage of by repair vendors. As the community continues to grow and evolve, there are issues that crop up, requiring compromise and adjustment, but any inconvenience pales in comparison to my experiences as a homeowner.

Moving to East Ridge 2 1/2 years ago was the best decision we ever made. We fell in love with their 76 acres of peaceful lush landscape with their small villas, but as the days went by, we realized that what made this community in their Independent Living Section special was the diversity and the heart of its residents. We became neighbors and friends of people with incredible backgrounds from all lines of work, pilots, park rangers, executives, doctors, artists, just to name a few. We find East Ridge Independent Living to be a wonderful place to retire.

I had knee replacement surgery on 3/7/2023. I chose to go to the East Ridge In house Rehab Three Palms facility and was there for two weeks. I only have positive things to say. The place is very lovely, clean and I had a private room. The nurses, aids, and all those who work there are friendly, supportive and excellent at what they do. They care . The physical therapist specialists are excellent and got me started right away on my rehabilitation and getting me moving and stronger with the knee replacement. I’m now going to their outpatient physical therapy and very happy with my progress. I’m very thankful for the East Ridge Facility and all those who serve in their capacity to help care for others.❤️

I highly recommend East Ridge at Cutler Bay for your love ones needs! Our journey at East Ridge Rehabilitation Center started with Elizabeth Payne she was the person that I first spoke to while at the Hospital. Elizabeth spoke to the right persons and I assured we had a smooth transition into the center. My mother's name is Grisca Buchillon, she was admitted about three months ago after a double fracture ankle surgery. My mother also has Alzheimer which I know make her a difficult patient to handle. My experience at East Ridge Rehabilitation Center was excellent. Since the first moment we arrived we were greeted by Madi who made us feel very welcome. My eternal gratitude to all of you: Desiree Sebastian Administrator, Delilah Rivas DON, Jennifer Cabezas Dietician, Madeline Diaz Social Worker, Dayami Madrigal Therapy Director and her wonderful team, specially to Ms. “D”. Thank you to all doctors and Nurses. To all CNAs THANK YOU! you guys have a special place in my heart. Activities ladies Joyce and Janet thank you for brightening my mother’s days at the center. Food Service, especially Sondra. Caroline thank you again! You all were prompt, diligent, caring and very professional with my mother and me. Congratulations for a superb service and for your kindness. You guys really made the difference. God Bless you all!

The best decision of my life! A friendly community with all the essentials of life. It’s all about choices. Choose to be as active as you like or sit back and enjoy the ride. Always something to do and a sumptuous meal waiting when you want it. They make life easy so you can enjoy the fun things that make life worthwhile. Come and enjoy life once again.

My wife and I moved to our one-story Villa (2/2+den) in Independent Living at East Ridge just before the pandemic, and found ourselves in a protected, secluded environment, where we could walk and bike around the beautiful 76 acres campus while most of our retired friends in other communities were confined to their condo apartments. That, combined with the friendliness and caring of our new neighbors, makes moving here one of the best decisions we have ever made!

This is a beautiful facility and the nursing staff and aids are excellent. Physical therapy staff was particularly good. I do have one serious issue. My dad was sent from the hospital to East Ridge. The hospital sent his med list and East Ridge received it. East Ridge somehow lost my dad's prescription for Detrol, which he was prescribed for bladder spasms and bladder pain. He went over a week without being administered the drug and was in severe pain for at least a week. Even though was asked daily about when he was getting his meds, they took over a week to have his meds delivered from the pharmacy in Ft. Lauderdale. This was unacceptable. My dad passed the morning after his meds were finally delivered.

The care here is the best! My father is loved and treated so kindly. The facility is clean and beautiful. It feels like a vacation resort rather than a nursing home and even smells like a spa. The staff immediately became family to each of us and involves us in every aspect of my father’s care. They are so personable and attentive. We feel like we are getting the royal treatment! This is truly my dad’s happy place.

I have lived at East Ridge for nearly four years. Friday I got home during a downpour of rain with my trunk filled with groceries. I was surprised to see my housekeepers, Evelyn and Delina, were still at my place. Delina met me and started unloading the groceries, followed by Evelyn making sure I got in the house safely. It turned out they had just finished cleaning, but now we had water all over the floor. Then, they told me to sit down and they proceeded to dry up all the floor. Their positive attitude about the whole thing while knowing they still had a big rainy day schedule ahead was amazing. Many thanks to them! Life is good at East Ridge.

So happy to have found this lovely forever home. I am treated and cared for with so much respect. No worries when travelling for extended periods. My gift to my children to know that I am safe. Beautiful campus with every imaginable amenity.

East Ridge at Cutler Bay has been incredibly exceptional with my grandfathers care. They have been absolutely great people and have been super caring. I come here and I am greeted, they are so nice. My grandfather absolutely loves the care he receives here. They feed him well, always on top of what he needs. Super clean place, nicely modeled. It’s a great place and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for care of an elder. You can trust this place and the employees.

If I could give Three Palms 6 stars I would. My mother spent 11 days until she passed away. I was there with her 2-3 times per day at different times. These are the most caring people. So clean, the place always smelled good mothers care was above and beyond. They were very accommodating in every way. The administration was very helpful in getting my mom placed. East Ridge reminded me of a Disney resort in many ways. Great staff, great place all around. Highly recommend.

I love it here at East Ridge Retirement Village. It's hard to believe this beautiful, quiet, 76+ acres, is located right in Miami-Dade County. I love being near my kids and grandkids, while having peace of mind that my needs are looked after here. Interior spaces, such as the well-appointed dining room also create a feeling of harmony. Speaking of harmony, I enjoy the frequent live music serenades at dinnertime.

My mom was here for about 6 months and I took her out. The staff did not care about the residents and needs more training. I found a better memory care facility that takes wonderful care of my mom.

My father has been here for almost a year now and I have to admit it was hard making the transition for the family. The staff in place, administration and support made this transition as easy as possible. I thank Tricia Fajardo for all the continued support and her effort to making the process a whole lot easier in such a difficult time. Thank you East Ridge.

I moved in three years ago and love it. We have everything but the best part is the community. The people are so welcoming.

I understood this was an organized and friendly little community. I can't say the same anymore since I found several young kids throwing rocks at my car that was parked nearby.

Since Santa Fe took over the ownership of East Ridge, the quality has declined dramatically. My mother lived there for 19 years. Up till about 5 years ago it was a great place to live. Not now. I would not recommend it to anyone. Food quality is dismal, communication to residents is non existent and management of the premises is incompetent.

It is incredible that in a covid19 moment like the one we are living there is nobody answering my phone calls, no nurse nor social worker only the receptionist. I being calling since 8:30am left voicemails and not one call back. How am I supposed to follow up on my fathers conditions? Last time I talked to a social worker was a week ago.

My mom came for rehab in her knee and was there for 1 month and she ended up in ICU. DONT NOT BRING YOU FAMILY HERE!!!!! It’s a death trap. They treat the patient so bad. They over Medicate you and then made my mother sign a DNR. NEVER AGAIN. My mother almost died they did nothing.

My mom (room 2311) was here for 6 weeks for a rehab after a hip replacement surgery, and to our surprise she didn't want to go home, but unfortunately this place is very expensive and we couldn"t afford it. The facility is clean and beautiful. It feels like a vacation resort. The staff is very attentive, a special shout out to KARELIA (CNA) for her care and help, she gave me mom, also to DAYENI (PTA) she is a great therapy and my mom is walking and feeling comfortable on her normal movements. This 2 employees were key in my moms recovery. We definitely recommend this place.

My grandmother stayed here 4 months ago after having hip replacement surgery. She had stayed at a different nursing home the year before for a different injury, where the attention was terrible and she had to share a room. Needless to say, she was dreading having to stay at a nursing home again, but East ridge quelled her anxiety about this. The facility is very clean and modern. It is located inside a retirement community, and affiliated with baptist providers. The food was good, the staff friendly and helpful. My grandmother also had her own room and was happy with the physical therapy and care that was provided. There are not as many patients/rooms as other facilities. Definitely recommend!
