Every year ,Baliyatra takes place after Kartik Purnima on the bank of Mahanadi River. Its duration is 7-8 days. It is spread over two grounds, one near the river bank and another on the opposite side of it. Various types of amusements like large dolis, multiple dishes & fastfood are available here. Also Pallishree Mela is organised here showcasing the handmade products of various SHG from all over Odisha. There are two such melas ,one showing products from various corners of Cuttack and the other from different districts of Odisha. Music and Dance program are organised every evening on 3 different stages. Laser show can be enjoyed from 6 pm to 10 pm. This time, sea aquarium is showcased which costs 150 rupees per person. All in one place solution. Entertainment with family, children will have fun, street food and lots more. Police and volunteers do their work to the best to avoid any problem. Be prepared in mind to walk a lot as parking areas are far away and thats good for a reason. Try to come in day time so that all things will be easier. Coming to this fair since childhood but in last some years many things have improved like more organised and cleanliness.

Baliyatra is one of the country’s largest open-air fairs, which is organised every year. It's celebrated to pay tribute to the maritime history of ancient Kalinga. It begins on Kartik Purnima can be traced back more than 1,000 years. Lakhs of people from different parts of the state and from Cuttack come to relish a range of foods, cultural events, buy goods, enjoy RamaDoli etc . After covid pandemic massive arrangements were made by govt this year. Around 1500 stalls were allotted through auction.. This year balijatra was held in a area of 85acres. Daytime is the preferable time to visit . In the evening it's really tough to cover everything because of crowd. Awesome experience.

One of the biggest festivals for the year in the month of November for cuttack city. Avoid evenings as large no people turn up and it’s difficult to walk and see. Best time to visit is between 12 noon to 3 as you can drive or ride all the way to the stalls. Post 3 PM the crowd starts entering and 2/3/4 wheelers are not allowed.

Baliyatra is going to be bigger and better from this year on. The oldest cultural and business trade fair of Odisha that celebrates the state’s rich maritime legacy will be observed as a state-level festival from this year. That definitely is good news given that the fair attracts huge footfall not only from the different parts of the state but also from other parts of the world.

Immensely big and crowded .. covering huge area and options for food, shopping , rides , functions and other games activities…. It is situated near the riverbank . Parking is bit far from the fair and advisable to book cab to reach there …. Handlooms to handicrafts of Govt shops and Famous brands are available there. So enjoy 😊

Bali yatra is the largest fair in the state of odisha. It's conducted in the month of Kartik according to the oriya calendar. It's held every year in Cuttack for 6-7 days starting from the day of Kartik Purnima. Yesterday I have visited Bali yatra and my experience was too good. The Bali yatra ground was too big it's impossible to cover every area of the fair. That's why I will recommend to visit the fair in the morning time. In the fair you will get every thing such as crockery , different kinds of clothes and food , foot wear etc as there were 1400 vendors coming from different states. If you are in Cuttack and bbsr just visit once . It's a MUST MUST visit.

Really you will enjoy a lot as u will lots of rides, stalls & if u r a foodie than the best thing u will get is variety of street foods.. Don't have much pics but have some of Aqua kindom which was this years special event of attraction..

This event makes every Cuttack's citizen proud. Crores of revenue generated for the workers and crafters of a diverse genre. Joyrides, sand arts, and sculptures adds to it's shine. Suggestion - We need to stop using animals such as camels/mules for our pleasure.

It's a ground which was used for a mela call baliyatra. It happens once a year for 7 days. In this 7days lots of shops food stalls are there for enjoyment lots of events are there. It's a historical festival of odisha before 1000 years the odia business person are travels to bali sumitra Indonesia Malaysia for business with river way to sea though boat called boita. After they returned they sell there items in this river side and it's since know as baliyatra and the ground balayatrapadia.

If you feel stressed then go there to empty your head in the morning or evening. It really helps. This is the ground for Baliyatra fair. Though I never liked going to the fair because of overcrowding but had visited once.
