I
feel
compelled
to
share
my
honest
and
unfiltered
experience
during
my
time
at
Gateway
Student
Village,
and
I
must
admit
that
it
was
nothing
short
of
a
nightmare.
From
the
very
beginning,
the
admission
process
left
me
feeling
incredibly
pressured.
I
was
given
an
absurdly
tight
3-hour
window
to
respond
to
secure
my
place,
or
else
risk
losing
it
altogether.
This
tactic
was
manipulative
and
added
unnecessary
stress
to
an
already
tense
situation.
To
add
insult
to
injury,
the
management
insisted
on
receiving
a
non-refundable
400
euros
deposit
upfront
as
a
so-called
"cautionary
measure"
before
confirming
my
reservation.
This
policy
struck
me
as
highly
questionable,
as
I
had
not
even
secured
my
spot
yet.
It
felt
like
a
blatant
attempt
to
take
advantage
of
eager
students
seeking
accommodation
in
this
challenging
housing
market.
Upon
moving
in,
my
excitement
quickly
turned
to
disappointment.
The
state
of
the
apartment
was
appalling.
There
were
visible
patches
of
mold
on
the
windows,
walls,
and
ceilings,
creating
an
unpleasant
and
unhealthy
living
environment.
Furthermore,
several
essential
pieces
of
furniture
were
missing,
leaving
me
with
a
disproportionately
sparse
and
uncomfortable
living
space.
One
of
the
most
distressing
issues
was
the
malfunctioning
blinds.
As
my
apartment
was
situated
on
the
ground
floor,
the
lack
of
functional
blinds
meant
that
my
privacy
was
compromised,
and
I
constantly
felt
exposed
to
passersby.
Despite
numerous
complaints,
the
maintenance
team
seemed
to
dismiss
the
matter
as
trivial,
refusing
to
address
it
promptly.
The
overall
quality
of
the
accommodation
did
not
justify
the
exorbitant
rent
I
was
paying.
I
understand
that
Dublin's
housing
crisis
has
driven
prices
up,
but
that
should
not
excuse
the
management
from
providing
subpar
services
and
amenities.
The
utilities
were
incredibly
expensive,
and
the
heating
system
was
woefully
inadequate
for
a
building
with
such
poor
insulation.
This
resulted
in
high
energy
bills
and
discomfort
throughout
my
stay.
Adding
to
my
grievances,
the
laundry
facilities
were
in
a
perpetual
state
of
disrepair,
making
it
almost
impossible
to
keep
my
clothes
clean.
Additionally,
there
were
persistent
leaks
in
the
apartment,
which,
combined
with
the
humid
climate,
resulted
in
an
unhealthily
damp
living
space.
The
mold
infestation
only
worsened
over
time,
negatively
impacting
my
health
and
well-being.
To
top
it
all
off,
an
incessant
alarm
buzzer
plagued
the
common
areas
for
four
long
months,
disrupting
our
sleep
and
forcing
us
to
intervene
manually
several
times
a
day.
The
intrusion
into
our
privacy
by
the
maintenance
staff,
who
entered
without
warning
or
permission,
further
added
to
the
sense
of
violation
and
discomfort.
Throughout
my
stay,
I
encountered
a
consistently
unhelpful
and
dismissive
staff.
Their
attitude
towards
the
numerous
issues
was
callous,
and
their
response
to
our
complaints
left
much
to
be
desired.
I
was
shocked
to
hear
them
suggest
that
if
I
wasn't
satisfied
with
the
conditions,
I
should
consider
staying
at
a
5-star
hotel
instead.
In
conclusion,
I
cannot,
in
good
conscience,
recommend
Gateway
Student
Village
to
anyone
seeking
accommodation
in
Dublin.
My
experience
was
filled
with
disappointment,
frustration,
and
discomfort.
The
management's
disregard
for
the
well-being
of
their
tenants
and
their
apparent
lack
of
concern
for
the
living
conditions
made
this
one
of
the
worst
housing
experiences
I've
ever
had.
I
strongly
advise
looking
elsewhere
for
a
more
suitable
and
respectful
place
to
call
home.
I
never
put
bad
review
on
google
but
this
residence
was
so
bad
I
prefer
warning
everyone.
