Popped in for a drink and the place feels very grand. When we visited it was quiet but can imagine it can get busy. There are lots of different seating area, with outside stepped terrace, which creates lovely garden environment. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Two beers come to £11 something Will make a visit to eat

Overall, this was a very pleasant evening meal. After a long afternoon at the WB studios, this was very welcome for my group of friends. Service was pretty decent and didn't have to wait too long for each of the courses which was good for a Saturday night.

Had a lovely dinner there. We decided very last minute to go and the staff was helpful to find us a table. Once we were there, service was great and food was super tasty. Also want to mention that they have a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks. All together great Thursday night. Thanks, will definitely visit again!

Came here for drinks on a lovely warm-ish summer evening. Lovely terrace and garden for fair weather drinking & dining, plus lots of different spaces indoors. The indoor dining areas are very smart; definitely more gastropub than pub. The staff throughout are very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely return to eat.

This is such a wonderful place. We had some lovely sides and starters and a cocktail. The bar staff are very friendly and extremely helpful there is such a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely recommend this place. Thanks for a great night

Surprisingly nice, as I wasn't sure what to expect. There are a lot of steps in this building and a beautiful banquet room with long table. Had the 2 course set meal. Highly recommend the prawns and feta starter. The steak sandwich was good too; though regrettably it wasn't cokked to medium rare. The white chocolate cheesecake was grainey and we strufgles with the fruit and toffee sauce combination; recommend avoiding! Sat by the open fire. It was very pleasent. Staff were attentive, toilets clean. Would come back.

Lovely building, great food, attentive staff. I can recommend the Mezze platter to share as a starter. The pork belly with scallops was well cooked and presented.

Had an hour to kill in Hemel whilst doing some business so popped in here. Service was good even though we only had a drink. Staff seemed eager to please. Didn't eat here but might go back in future as long as I can avoid that bloody roundabout next time.

We’re able to accommodate our large group on short notice and put together an amazing area which felt like a private space, definitely recommend to other large groups. Service was fantastic from Adam and his team, very attentive and overheard that we were celebrating my partners graduation so quietly offered to a do a celebration plate free of charge. Can’t recommend highly enough :)

Went for a Roast for my birthday meal yesterday and walked away with food poisoning. 1 parsnip, 1 carrot and 2 spuds on the plate, and a dribble of gravy. The texture and taste of the beef was a bit off, and their "bottomless" gravy consisted of what looked like a small measuring cup. Definitely not what you expect for the price you pay, so upset. Birthday ruined, what a gift.

We always come back here with pleasure. Today we had dinner here, we chose assortments from the vegan menu, which we were extremely impressed by. I chose a vegan burger and a super chilli curry. We were served by Zoe, who is a beautiful and extremely kind young woman. She made us feel good, and always made sure that nothing was missing from our table. I warmly recommend this place.

Absolutely brilliant place, I've been here more than a few times and they are always more than welcoming. The staff are awesome, on arrival you are always met with a smile. The food is always absolutely brilliant I'll be honest, it's not a place where you'll be amazed by anything special because that's not what they are about. The food they do is amazing, you actually can't go anywhere else to find proper good food with a special feel about it other than here. If you're looking for a place to go on a first date or a date night with your partner, this is the place! To the staff, keep up the good work. You're doing a great job and such a nice place to go

This is the second time I’ve visited the Marchmont Arms within the last few months and as before it was exceptional. We had a large table to accommodate the full family. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were all friendly. I couldn’t fault the service we received from start to finish! All of the meals served were excellent and as before we had no complaints from anyone who ordered. There’s something for everyone on the menu and it was of the highest quality. They also know how to serve coffee properly and we finished our meals with outstanding coffees. We love visiting the pub and can’t wait to come again, thank you!

We had a lovely time, hired the bar area for a surprise birthday. Lovely place, really friendly and helpful staff. The only thing that's negative is the buffet menu. We paid £17.95 per head, 6 items. There was no way near enough food for that price. 1 slice of pizza, tiny bit of salad and at most a couple of the bites per person. This needs addressing.

Food great, venue great. Staff could look less bored and more happy. More veggies options would be good on mains I think there were around 3. There was no hand soap in the bathroom.

A special thanks to Katie our server who coped with our party of 10 with various child related complications and adult needs with great spirit and efficiency. She went above and beyond. We had a great lunch with no complaints.

Lovely welcoming and tentative staff. Great presentation and delicious food. Good size portion too. Especially Tempura Squid. Nice country pub.

I had the scallops for a starter, and they were cooked to absolute perfection. The salmon main was moist with a lovely crisp skin. Compliments to the chef.

Food was average and they can do better fish n chips I’m sure. What saves the day was the stellar service provided by all the restaurant crew. They were attentive, friendly and professional. The restaurant is nicely decorated and food was reasonably priced too!

Lovely looking venue, food was good, staff were nice but clearly fairly new as they didn't know the menu very well, how to re-lay cutlery or use the card machine so maybe more training with a buddy system would be good rather than trial and error with no support Infront of customers. Would return as the food is tasty and ambiance is nice for a meal with friends or family.

Wow! The best nourish vegan bowl I've ever eaten. The food, value, service & festive decor outstanding. A must & have to try this establishment formal & informal dining. Menus are a superb variety caterers for meat eaters, vegetarian & vegan. As for alfresco dining I've yet to experience. Can't wait to come back. Thank you so much Marchmont Arms.

I was recommended this place by a neighbor of mine who said that the food was great. The food was pretty good once we had sent back 2 of the 6 meals to get them re made as the first versions were a little lackluster. Sadly, for the girl who brought us the drinks, the whole venture started with her spilling a pint of drink all over our table. So it has promise and we will be going back to check the Sunday Lunch out. Staff were friendly, venue was classy

I visited on a Sunday evening and had the sea bass fillets. Simply fantastic. Perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. A great surprise and well worth the trip from Luton where I was forced to spend a night waiting for a flight.
