The menu is vast but the chef team are actually very good in comparison to some chain pubs. Specials available and tasty. Plenty of seating or allow overspill to the bar where you can still eat. Waiting staff are friendly and bar staff can make a decent cocktail. Only sticking point is that it is quite expensive but not surprising for the area.

We were staying at the pub and holding a wake in The Greene Room, staff, service and food were brilliant and the Greene Room was perfect for the wake, lovely vibe (if you can apply that to a wake, it's a lovely room, let's say that!). The bathroom and shower were great and the bed was fine but really needs a headboard to protect the painted wall. A wardrobe might have been nice but we weren't there long enough to really worry about it.

Kings Arms is a great place to meet friends and colleagues. It is spacious, comfortable and accommodating. You can snack, dine or just drink. The service is excellent, very responsive and considerate. You are never hurried. On my last visit, I had one of their pizzas cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven but the menu is vast and varied. Highly recommended

Arrived for an evening meal shown to an outside table waited … and waited …. was a Monday evening not busy at all two members of staff studying the on line booking system, tables outside filthy if it was busy I would understand completely but no acknowledgment, we went to another very local restaurant who served us immediately, this is the second time this has happened never again!

We had a very enjoyable breakfast here today. It was a spur of the moment decision. Our first time. My only quibble was the pancakes were a little small, but lovely. Good, strong wake me up coffee too.

Went for there for a drink. Just one ale on offer despite a 'cask marque'. Flat pint, no head whatsoever. Then asked for a rum, and was served it with ice when I didn't want any. Complained and was told they serve all spirits with ice whether you ask for it or not. Nice interior.

Great little pub, we stayed a couple of nights due to husbands job, room was lovely, staff very helpful, the lady who deals with the breakfasts was really pleasant and such a lovely person to talk to, a credit to the team I think she said her name was Shelle. My husband has been here before but my first time and really impressed, my only nag was parking, being disabled we had to park quite far away as there was no parking. But a small nag compared to lovely food, staff and room. And good price. They are also dog friendly which is great.

We have paid £106 for the room, which looked great on the pictures. However in reality we were shocked what we walked into. The carpet was stained with who knows what. Bad to a point that we didn't take our shoes off. Walls had leak marks in each conner. The bathroom had mould, dust and dirt in the corners of the floor and build up of lime scale everywhere. When lifting the toilet seat we were "greeted" by urine marks. Cups for hot beverages left in the had stain marks at the bottom. All in all I have never stayed in poorer accommodation. Filft is an understatement. Lady who checked us in could do with course of customer service. Will never be back.

Fabulous place for a drink. Food, as always, was lovely. Gorgeous roaring fire. My only complaint is if you sit near a window, it's absolutely freezing as the front ones don't shut properly. Otherwise, so nice

We went as an 8 person family for lunch on boxing day, friendly welcome, tables ready, and a wonderful roaring fire. Great food arrived with only a short wait, couldn't fault our experience would recommend and certainly would return.

Very disappointed. We’ve been before and had really good food but this evening it was not good. I had prawns to start that were so over cooked. Then main course was cold and my husbands steak was full of gristle and fat. Even when it was sent back I didn’t feel there was any apology. Very disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend the kings arms.

This was a great fallback place to eat. Reasonably priced all round. Could have been more ale selections though.

Decided to have a drink at the Kings Arms as it looks very appealing from the outside. Staff were very pleasant at the bar. I ordered one pint of lager and a white wine spritzer this came to the cost of £20.10p. Which we thought was quite expensive and decided not to eat there.

Lovely cozy pub, dropped in here on a wet and windy Saturday after a walk through Berkhamsted high street for some food. Pub was warm and staff inviting and attentive, we were seated quickly and got in some warm drinks and cooked breakfasts. Drinks and food were all well made and delicious! Only gripes are the price - it was a little on the expensive side, not overly so though, and was good quality so still good value, but not the place if you're on a tight budget. And whilst we were seated quickly the drinks and food did take a little longer to come out than expected, not unreasonably slow but considering it wasn't particularly busy would have expected things a little bit quicker. All round probably a 4.5/5 would definitely go again!

We stayed for a night as part of the Hooray for Sunday deal. Food was good, bedroom was nice, service varies - mostly very good but having been presented desert menus we were promptly ignored for 20 minutes. When we finally spoke to someone they said the kitchen has closed. They also made several mistakes on our final bill but rectified it quickly and professionally. Good, but perhaps not as good as they think they are and need to ensure all staff deliver the high levels of service some of their colleagues do.

Fantastic setting for a meal or drink. Eaten here twice and never fails to impress. Service is pleasant and not over bearing. Food quality is great and nothing better than watching an open kitchen work!

Had a great stay here. James and his team were fantastic and so helpful. Breakfast was great (though I'm not sure garlic on the mushroom worked) but otherwise all great. Will be back. Phillip and Fiona. X

I had a great experience. Originally I only stayed for one night but I've already been back again for Sunday lunch with my mum. Food was delicious, room was clean and had everything I needed. The manager and staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome and I'd definitely recommend it to others as a place to stay, a friendly pint and delicious grub.

In honesty the meal was not that great, the gammon was so salty it was inedible and the sirloin cottage pie had very little meat. We mentioned this to the waiter but he did not seem concerned. We are querying the bill which totalled £185.89 after bluelight discount and including service charge which seems extreme. We had olives, 2 x harissa kebabs and tomato bruscheta followed by small fish and chips, sirloin cottage pie, nduja pizza and gammon, these totalled £97.25. Accompanying this We had a bottle of house red, 2 gin and slimline tonics, an elderflower tonic and a cappuccino. We are sure we were overcharged

Used to love it here but the last few times we have been it hasnt been up to it's old standards. Waited 45 mins for food (when the restaurant was almost empty on a Monday lunch time), and when my food did come my pie was not cooked in the middle and was still cold. Staff didnt do much to remedy it and were a little begrudging . The coffees we had before lunch were great though, and they treated my dog amazingly.

I was here for an event in their upstairs room - a totally enjoyable experience. The bar staff are friendly and helpful, the prices are reasonable and the decor is great. The toilet facilities aren’t the largest but at fortunately are clean. It’s a decent option for an event.

The room we had was pretty basic, with a broken toilet/bathroom door. It also overlooked a Wetherspoons garden, so if you need a nice quiet night this probably won't be it. On the other hand, service was lovely, it was a great place to have a drink in, and food was good.

Went here for Brunch, and totally enjoyed. I had BLT, which was fairly substantial, bacon was gorgeous, and the house fries were first class. Recommended by a friend (which is always a good way of being assured it'll be decent) it was my first time in The Kings Arms for about three years, and I'll definitely be back. And, like our friend who told us about it, I will have no hesitation in recommending TKA to everyone else interested in decent food. Ambience was good, and service staff very polite and unintrusive, but attentive at the same time. Also liked the posh-smelling liquid hand soap in the toilets. 10 out of 10 on today's visit ~ we'll done everyone at The Kings Arms !

Not the "Hilton" BUT.... food - excellent, staff - excellent, and very friendly. Nice comfy room and bed. Eggs benedict for breakfast are worth staying for alone!! Highly recommended for a meal or business trip. 😉

What a fabulous stay we had! We were moved into the most beautiful room with four-poster bed, complete with towel swans and rose petals. Mattress was extremely comfortable, bathroom was nice and big with a bath and shower and clean. Staff were accommodating and super helpful and lovely, breakfast was delicious, drinks in the bar were lovely by an open fire - overall an absolutely delightful time. Would absolutely come and stay again!

Not local to the area and came across The Kings Arms on a Sunday evening. The menu has a great selection including vegan options for my partner. Yummy food, reasonable prices and friendly staff. A special thanks to the Manager on duty Hannah, who went out of her way to make our brief visit so enjoyable,!

Below average. Restaurant service was terrible and food was a bit tasteless. Room did not feel clean, with old hair in the shower and mouldy grout. All this charm was topped of by the fire alarm going off above our bed at 6:45am. 100% do not recommend.

Lovely atmosphere, beautiful al fresco dinning area (although we ate inside) and lovely staff. The food was beautiful and there was plenty of choice on the menu for our 2 vegan party members. It was our first time there but definitely not the last. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Nice pub with friendly and helpful staff. Found us a table as walk-ins with no problem. Good very nice and reasonably priced. Seating outside under trendy marquee with festoon lights. Nice place for just a few drinks or food.

Nice place to go for a few cocktails and has a mix of a busy pub vibe at the front / eatery in the back. Food is fairly decent, though I think there are better places to eat in berko (if anything order pizza as these are really good) Toilets have a few busted locks which could do with being fixed, general facility cleanliness is "okay" - like you won't need to hover but you don't want to spend any longer in there than you have to. The really special thing about this place is the huge fireplace at the front, when lit it's lovely in winter

Another great stay at the Kings Arms Hotel - centrally located in Berkhamsted Town Centre/ 7 mins walk from the Station. This hotel has great facilities (Restaurant & Bar) and run by a fabulous team. Looking forward to our next visit.

My new favourite place for breakfast, it's hard finding a good full English but this place adds the right herbs and spices to really bring out the meal. The lunch/dinner looks good too so will be coming back for more gluttony later this week!

Always such good quality food and service, we can sometimes be a pain too by asking for subs on dishes which I know can be annoying! Never anything short of exceptional, we love it and are so lucky to have it on our doorstep!

Nice venue not enough seating if your just going for a drink as they let people reserve tables in the limited seating areas
