As a city guide, I always speak about Kaunas Mosque. It was built by architects Waclaw Michnevič and Alfonsas Netykšas in 1930. The followed mostly the Northern African style, therefore closer to Arab-plan or hypostyle mosques. The Tatar Muslim community was always an important part of Kaunas town, with the first wooden Mosque erected as early as 1860. Tatars controlled the businesses of bread baking, and were rich and integrated community, even there was a street named Totorių (Tatar). In 1930, on the 600th anniversary of death of most famous Lithuanian ruler of all times, the community reminded that Vytautas the Great brought into Lithuania Tatars as devoted and effective fighters. Therefore in the western part of municipal cementary the Mosque was erected. The city mayors like to bring the guests from foreign countries and show them the only stone Mosque in Lithuania. In Soviet times, the cementary was destroyed and Mosque rebuilt into library for children. Today, in Lithuania a new generation of muslims – local families, studets and guests use the refurbished Mosque // Dirbdamas gidu, visada pristatau architektų Michnevičiaus ir Netykšo 1930-aisiais, Vytauto Didžiojo metais čia suprojektuotą ir pastatytą mečetę, vienintelę kol kas mūrinę mečetę Lietuvoje.

Kaunas Mosque (Lithuanian: Kauno Mečetė) is the only mosque in the city and district of Kaunas, one of only four mosques in Lithuania as well as the only brick mosque in Lithuania and the Baltic countries. It is in Centras eldership, Tatars Street 6 (Lithuanian: Totorių g. 6) Kaunas. A well maintained mosque. Masha Allah.

Mosque was built in 2019 with support from Turkey for the Muslim community in Kaunas which has a small number of Tatars. I couldn't visit when it was open but I liked the construction and the location near the park is perfect

Beautiful little mosque tucked away in the corner of a park. Peaceful, surrounded by greeery and nature. The mosque have installed a children’s trampoline on one side of the mosque which was a sweet touch as non-muslims come here with their kids to play. Mashallah a very nice mosque.

It’s the only mosque in the city and district of Kaunas, one of only four mosques in Lithuania as well as the only brick mosque in Lithuania and the Baltic countries. It is in Centras eldership. Nowadays, most believers who visit the mosque are foreign students from throughout the world who study in Kaunas' universities and businessmen from Central Asia. The Friday sermons - Khutbah - are given by different Khateeb in English, Arabic and Lithuanian. The mosque is open for the five daily prayers.

We went there just out of interest and by chance met the Imam, who asked us in for a visit and little chat. Very nice and calm place. The description outside says it's a "compact mosque" ... indeed ... but also very cosy.

(Translated by Google) My new place this week was the mysterious city of Kaunas. Having learned that there is also a mosque, I simply fell in love with this city. I liked the old town more than the old town of Vilnius. Much more spacious and more like the character of Lithuania itself. The atmosphere is secret, cozy and definitely soulful. The city is clean, people are polite :) (Original)

(Translated by Google) I was very surprised to see this mosque by accident. I was sent to her to make Asr prayer, but to my regret, she was locked. But it didn’t stop me from doing the namaz; the benefit around the mosque was very clean, throwing a jacket on the cobblestones I performed namaz. I was very pleased that there is a mosque in Kaunas. May Allah bestow mercy and reward those who were the cause of the construction of this mosque and especially the government of the Republic of Turkey. Türkiye Cumhuriyetinen Rabbim Allahım çok razı olsun. Türkiye Cumhuriyetinen Rabbim Allahım çok razı olsun.

A masterpiece ! This mosque is surrounded with a huge garden, where one can sit and cherish the nature. To add in this, it's a brick and stone mosque which is fully constructed according to modern architecture. Easy access, CCTV surveillance, easy access for females to pray on 2nd floor. Imam of this masjid speaks English too (advantage for muslim international students and other persons). #kaunasmosque

(Translated by Google) Women no longer have a toilet room at the top, no windows at the top and no air conditioning. When the field is +30, women don't have anything at all .. It is a shame that the huge renovation has only focused on making everything look beautiful.

A little mosque on a park. A simple but elegant and beautiful one. It's a pity it's closed when we were there. Maybe it's only open during praying times. I hope we can visit this mosque again. The mosque is not far from Kaunas city centre. We walked here.

Well maintained mosque, plenty of parking around! Friday prayers take place. Water cooler inside. Has wudhu area. Plenty of area for female worshippers inside the mosque on the first level. Plenty of benches outside to sit. As the mosque is in a park, there is kids play area around.

I have to say that I am highly disappointed of how people reacted to us entering the mosque .. I am a muslim and I brought my christian friend to see the mosque and people were looking at us in such disgust .. which is not the best way to represent our religion .. the mosque was decent but needs more work in cleaning and maintaining good smell .. I advise the imam and his followers to be warmer and welcoming to foreigners!
