Food is generally good, but I’ve had better macaroni out a tin. However Service is a bit disjointed. I.E - Starter arrives, the drinks arrive 5 minutes later. Big wait between starters and mains. You then have to redeem a ticket for kids ice cream which at dinner time is another queue. Also… if you go with a child they seat you in the kids area, right next to a chaotic and noisy kids play area. We’re parents… we don’t mind taking our child for dinner, we don’t mind kids either. It just feels a bit like ur eating dinner with every child and stressed out adult in the restaurant. It’s loud and chaotic You come out for dinner but it feels like you have come to a cafe in a soft play

My fiance and myself were served by two people. Neither of them seemed like they wanted to be there. Both of them had an attitude. The place itself looked quite nice when we first went in, but the more I looked I thought it could've done with a good clean. The cake I had was ok. My fiance's was very dry. I don't think we'll be back.

What’s happened to the usual high standard carvery ? Always use this place with the family when up in Edinburgh. Usually spot on , but mediocre at best last week. Food just warm (left entirely by my unimpressed mother in law 👎) I ate mine but it wasn’t the usual standard. The cold dried out roast tatties hit zero in my view.Unlikely to revisit…sadly ☹️

First time visiting this restaurant. I wasn't too happy being seated at a dirty table then having to collect my own drinks. I wasn't expecting too much from the Carvery but I was happily surprised. The food was AMAZING I clean my plate. Will definitely be back.

My partner and I went in for a carvery. It was relatively quiet inside but the table we were seated at was below a speaker after just explaining to the waitress that my partner has sensory processing issues and we need somewhere quiet. Rather than move us across the restaurant, they turned down the music to a much more manageable level. The food was hot and fresh, meat was very well cooked. Cake was a little dry. Overall a very pleasant experience

Unfortunately my brother and I had an awful experience here this evening.. We turned up to collect our grandparents roast dinners where we then got told to head over to the carvery section to collect, which we did. When we arrived at the section where they carve the meats, the man with the long hair was extremely rude, seemed to have no customer service skills at all, didn’t smile once and deemed it acceptable to speak down on me and my brother as if we were children. He proceeded to cut the thinnest most pathetic slithers of meat I have ever seen in my life, I have seen more meat on a Tesco meal deal chicken sandwich which is telling you something.. he asked if we would like any Yorkshire puddings, I said yes. He then dropped one of the Yorkshire pudding on the dirty counter next to where all the meat was being cut and where the juices were flowing but thought it was completely ok to proceed to put this into the tray and give me it anyway. His tone was absolutely pathetic, didn’t seem to care about customer nor service. Prior to leaving I proceeded to tell him not to be a sour face little runt his whole life. Absolutely shocking service, would not recommend and will not be back. It would suit the pathetic little man to get off his high horse and be more respectful to customers.

Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate a 70th birthday. It was noisy, with screaming unattended kids everywhere, dirty tables, unbelievably slow service, no cutlery, and surly staff at the bar. My food was nice when it arrived, but if you are unfortunate enough to be seated anywhere near the play area you'll be quite honestly desperate to leave. My first and last time visiting unfortunately.

Good Carvery, nice selection, all being freshly made. Service was really good, very attentive and helpful. Excellent for kids - has a play area with some paid for machines and other free things for them to use. Noisy in that area but you are used to that if you have kids with you!

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Elginhaugh Farm Carvery. We had the Roast Lunch and the Vegetarian Burger. Both very tasty. Finished of with a carrot cake and a couple of excellent coffees. Mention must go to the waiting staff, who were all quite calm and friendly despite it being a busy Sunday afternoon. And a special shout out to the young male waiter (sorry, forgot to note his name) who was very helpful and genuinely seemed to care about providing great customer service.

Went here for a carvery a couple of weeks ago and it was hands down one of the best we've had. We got a large which was so much food and all cooked to perfection only issue was we couldn't finish it! Ordered on the app so can't really comment on service but the guy serving the carvery was lovely! Will definitely be back

This place is amazing value for money! Huge menu, even though their speciality is their carvery, there is something for everyone. What a choice from the carvery, meat, vegetables, choice of potatos, gravy wow! Full bar and plenty of choice Reason i didn't give it 5 stars, staff were a little slow, I think they were short staffed, and the overall restaurant/bar was a little dirty (tables, the bar, the carpet) but again could be due to the staffing issue Definitely worth a visit!

The food was good, we had a problem with the bill/menu, but the manager sorted it out efficiently. She was very friendly and polite. The atmosphere was cosy and not too loud - I would go back again. 😊 Ice cream and cake display was amazing!

We have been coming here for several years now for a festive family lunch. The food was delicious, as always. The Christmas carvery was excellent!! Superb value, lots of choice and very tasty. Service was great. So easy to book online and order in advance. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. As an NHS staff member, I get 20% off the food bill with the Blue Light Card discount which is an added bonus. The staff even helped me get my discount code sorted which was very kind. Highly recommend for a family meal. The kids play area is great for young children, the restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of parking too.

Lovely carvery. Friendly helpful staff. Four full happy tummies. Had breakfast the next day, and it was a great buffet with loads to choose from. Also the children loved the Halloween evening they had on with loads of fun activities, face painting and (stick the witch's nose on the picture). Keep up the great work from front of house and especially the kitchen and servers. Thanks all.

Bog standard chain where you know what you're getting, my boys had a double cheeseburger, and chicken skewers. The skewers apparantly were really nice. Having said that it is a bog standard chain, the carvery was outstanding, the guy even cut the fat off the gammon before carving it. The selection of veg was great, only thing missing was peas, but seriously, the selection that was there, you didn't need peas. Sprouts, parsnips, carrots, new potatoes minted and plain, mash, cabbage - red and green and cauliflower cheese, roasties, and Yorkshire pudding. If we're up this way again we will definitely return. No photos of the mains, but the cheesecake my son had was massive with cream and ice cream!!

It was absolutely amazing night. We organised Hen party for our friend last night. Food was fab, service was spot on. Thank you so much to all at Elginhaugh Farm - Dining & Carvery that made it a night to remember. We would like to thank especially to Sophie J and Alister and other staff members who served us yesterday. Looking forward to coming back.

The food was great and enjoyable, however, the table were not cleaned properly and thus sticky and difficult to sit at without getting one’s jumper dirty.

Had carvery, good value for money. Suffers from the usual carvery problem of food not being very hot. Still very tasty though. Pudding serving was enormous! Cant fault it, very nice. We will be back!!

Met family members for a catch-up and meal. Excellent choice on the menu and extremely generous portions. All dishes were cooked perfectly and very professional service from the staff we met. We will definitely be back and would recommend to others. Only minor quibble which is common nowadays with all eating out experiences is the price of soft drinks which seem disproportionate to alcoholic drinks.

Lovely atmosphere and staff very welcoming. Christmas decorations up so very festive. Had the roast beef small carvery served by a very amusing chef!!😏 Beef could have been a little more tender but the trimmings were fabulous. Would go back 🎄🎉👌

Fantastic usual Sunday breakfast. We like to come in before 9 and the two girls every Sunday always give superb service. Food was tasty and very hot. Will continue to come. Good price for all you can eat as well

Four stars for kids corner ( reallynice), service ( staff was doinghard job)- kids loved their meals 😋 but soup was regular nothing special. Price really reasonable. WHAT IS IMPORTANT- CAKES are massive and fantastic flavours I like to order them by takeaway.

Carvery was excellent. As we're the other meals ordered by our party. There was a excellent selection of mains and deserts, though not many starters. Food and drinks prices were very reasonable.

Second time I've been, food is OK but it seems a bit tired and needing a deep clean. Having a kids play place is great but not when you can't kneel on the floor because it needs vacuumed. Went for Sunday breakfast, food was hot and plentiful but the haggis was pasty and the bacon with the pancakes was soggy and fatty while the bacon with the full breakfast was nice, thick and tasty. Lovely fried eggs and lorne sausage.

Was here for breakfast with a friend, we opted for the buffet breakfast. The food was okay, only warm thoug not hot. There was plenty choice and the staff were friendly but I'm not sure I'd go back for breakfast.

Had the Carvery, potatoes were cold, vegetables were all soggy and rubbery, my Wife had the Lasagne which was obviously a frozen version with grizzle in the mince. Staff looked as though they were only there under difference 😡😡

Every time we have a good experience there, with or without the kids there's loads of different options for every taste. Service is great, sometimes just okay, but food quality is always excellent Thanks for being here for us! We'll keep supporting locals 👍

Lovely food and lovely staff. Small point, letting adult customers near the carvery without a face covering, and wandering about the restaurant also, despite notices saying face coverings must be worn.
