This new addition to McKinney and Olive serves a wide variety of Mexican (not Tex-Mex) tacos, enchiladas and main dishes. The space is vast, spanning two floors with tons of outdoor space, and is beautifully designed. The service here is excellent all-around. Everyone is friendly, attentive and extremely well-trained. Unfortunately, based on my two visits, the food is a bit of a let down. It’s just so-so, which is disappointing given how great all of the other elements are. The quality of the ingredients are great, and the plating is on point, but the flavor of the end product just lacks that “wow” factor that keeps you wanting to come back. This place may very well be one of the coolest vibes around, but I’d stop in for a cocktail and eat at one of the many fantastic options nearby.

Understandably this is a new establishment. Very beautiful space, decor and seating is nice but it was warm in the building. For The crowd they draw it at least should have been cool. Food was great drinks were great. Our server Abraham (I think) was great! We were sat immediately because we made reservations. The outside seating area is really nice as well. I didn't go up to the rooftop sadly. But great experience I will come back after the crowd dies down some.

LOVE the New Mexican Sugar in Uptown! First, the place is GORGEOUS - and HUGE. Service was really great at both the bar and table. Table all shared - favorites were the Whole Fried Snapper, Prime Short Rib Fajitas. We also love the Shishito cocktail as well as the Margarita Flight!

What an Awesome and Amazing time we had here on Our 10 th Anniversary! We Decided to go with the Chefs suggestions (Totally the way to go) You don’t have to say anything just let them know what your preferences are. Ours were vegetarian and seafood, and we just let them keep bringing it out as we sat and enjoyed every moment and every dish. We had some delicious tequila and some extraordinary margaritas. Honestly, there was nothing about this place we didn’t like it was beautiful and the service was incredible attention to detail. If you haven’t been here you gotta go. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you again Mexican Sugar this was exactly what we had in Mine to Celebrate our Special Day !! You did Not Disappoint

The drinks are amazing! So many good ones! I always like getting the Hibiscus Margarita or the flight if I want all 3 ☺️ I had a great server as well! His name was alberto! The only thing I wished they had was the paella like the other locations.

A must experience in Uptown Dallas. Every dish was uniquely presented and tasted even better than its presentation. Thank you, Leann Berry, for the delightful brunch - it was a pleasure seeing you yesterday and meeting David! We will be back regularly! Xavier was very attentive and look forward to having him as our sever again soon.

Beautiful restaurant with great drinks and food. I loved the agave library! Carlos was friendly and knowledgeable, he told us about the history of some of the tequilas you have. Great service and great recommendations! He recommended the Machete and Hibiscus which I loved! I had a great first impression and will definitely come back.

New location and it is worth the visit!!!!! The atmosphere was super cool and offers plenty of space. It was our monthly ladies brunch and we had a blast!!!! Now be warned the margarita flights are NO joke...whoever was bartending was pulling ALL liquor in those dranks!!!! Meanwhile the food was absolutely delicious!!!!!! Plenty of flavor and good serving sizes. I will be going back!

My first time coming in and it was amazing, I will most definitely be revisiting…Our server Brandon was extremely welcoming he recommended the Hamburgesa which was indeed “The best burger ever.” the overall setting, was very elegant and cozy.

Stopped in here tonight with my wife for a s Southwest Airlines party to honor employees with perfect attendance! We’ve been to Mexican Sugar before, but not to this location. It is a really beautiful facility. The upstairs is particularly excellent with its own bar, outdoor elevated patio, and a cool tequila room that you can reserve ahead of time. The service was excellent, chips and salsa were brought quickly, waters were always filled, drinks were flowing. On point! The food was great. My wife had the lobster enchiladas, I had the beef fajita plate. Most of the members of our group had the steak. It was all fantastic. Unfortunately, I ate it all before we got a picture! For dessert, we had the coconut Tres leches, which was fantastic. All in all highly recommended!

This was our first time coming here and we had the best experience. We made a reservation for 8 people and at the last min had an extra person show up. The hosts quickly accommodated us, definitely appreciated that. They also brought us a baby chair from the second floor. It’s the little things. Our drinks and food arrived quickly, everything was delicious. It was my moms birthday so they had a cake with a candle for us to sing to her. Want to give a special shout out to our waiter Carlos for superb service. Will definitely be coming back to check out the second floor rooftop bar.

Nice go-to dinner spot! Prices are premium and worth it. Drinks have a variety and the food as wel. Upon arrival, was greeted and sat immediately. The staff was very kind and attentive. Our server, Lizbeth did a great job bringing out our food and drinks. Big thanks to her.

I came on a Monday afternoon to have a working lunch and IT GOT BUSY QUICK. But I equally was served with ease. I got the fresh lemonade 10/10, I literally order 2… it was so refreshing and the chicken tortilla soup 8/10, presentation was phenomenal and the right about of spice but had an interesting after taste. Over all I enjoyed and would definitely return. They offer valet parking for free for the first 3 hours. Definitely will be returning!

Kiera was our server, she was super sweet. She gave us suggestions and explained different menu items… Our drinks came quick, as well as our food.. The food was very flavorful and the drink I ordered was delicious. Presentation of everything was amazing…. We were here for my birthday and the atmosphere really made me feel special. It was close to closing time so my BIRTHDAY CAKE from the restaurant was boxed up for me to take home! We definitely plan on coming back just for date night! Location is on point along with all the vibes you get being here!!

Our large group was very well accommodated at this restaurant. Special shout out to our server, Tracy, who took such good care of us. I had the bone in pork chop which was absolutely delicious, and I would totally recommend it. We spent a few minutes at the bar after dinner and had great interactions with the bartenders. Self parking and valet were both available.

Revised Review: Tasty food and original Mexican inspired recipes. Gave Mexican Sugar a second and third chance after an invite from David and their talented Chef, Gustavo. Gustavo took the time to make suggestions and make sure my mom, my friend, and I loved every bite. We tried dishes we had not tried before, the spice, the flavor palate, and the quality in the ingredients of each plate reflected the intention and attention to detail. I recommend listening to their staff for suggestions, they know best. I will be back to visit my favorite server, Grey, and to try more of their dishes and beautiful cocktails. Walking into Mexican Sugar immediately puts you in a vibe of a modern Tulum feel with warm tones to set the mood. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed views of the city lights. Our server, Corina really made our experience so special. She explained the menu very well and steered us in our choices that did not disappoint. We will definitely come back!

I reserved a table here for my daughter's birthday. It's a nice vibe, however the food was bland and I was not a fan of the flights. The host for our table was very entertaining and down to earth and made our experience so much better.
