This is a place that has been permanently recorded in the history of the US. The library and this spot of grassy hillock. The original fence from behind which the shot was fired at the passing JFK is still preserved. You can go in there and stand there and judge for yourself ......

Spooky to think about, and conspiracies galore, but it's here, and history will never change that it was roughly at this spot that somebody got their "top" pulled way back. Rather than running from the past, kudos for the city of Dallas to designate this as a landmark. There isn't any special security or lines you need to go through, it is walkable, but parking may be an issue so best to get dropped off. Cross traffic is periodic but you can sometimes see people standing in the traffic.

One of the most famous spots in Texas. Well worth a visit just to wander and soak up the history. I parked in the museum car park but the museum had sold out for the day. Despite this though the car park is well located to walk all of downtown Dallas' attractions, it was fairly empty too so good for anybody with large vehicles not wanting to squeeze into a compact space in a tiny garage.

It's one thing to read about JFK's assassination and another to actual stand there at the site where it actually happened in 1963. Something about this place has an aura of sadness, tragedy & at some extent mystery. You can visit the book repository building musem if you'd like to learn more, it contains some rich information & history.

This is a place you go. You make the time. You go and stand where it all happened. I imagine it is very crowded when there isnโ€™t a pandemic, but now, during the pandemic it was perfect. Not many people and room to take time to reflect. The museum requires tickets and they do sell out fast. Gift shop cannot be accessed without a museum ticket.

Made my annual pilgrimage to the site of JFKโ€™s assassination, made more poignant by it now being 60 years since it happened. Well worth visit to ponder, reflect, and photograph.

Worth checking out if you're in the area and doing some sightseeing. It'll take you maybe 5 minutes to see the whole thing. Parking isn't free though, especially if you park in the public garage (expect costs between $4 - $10). Otherwise, it is very accessible and has good, brief descriptions of the what's and where's.

Walking around the area is much more interesting and informative than going up to the book depository. Lots JFK tour guides in the area make this a great day adventure.

Not exactly what I expected..mainly because I didnt have a good understanding of the layout of the area based on old pictures. They have a very pretty archway over looking Commerce street and where JFK was shot. There are 2 X's on the street marking where the car was when he was hit by 2 bullets. There are numerous tours around the area as well as tour guides. Please be careful about standing on the X's to have your picture taken...Commerce is a very busy street and people dont slow down!! The entire area is very well kept and depending on who you talk to, you may get some new insight as to who really did kill JFK...

Very sad condition. My 3rd visit here, although in better shape then the last 2 times Iโ€™ve visited (1994, 2010), I was disappointed to see it was still not in great shape. It seems to me, that this monument documenting one of the most tragic events in our countryโ€™s history, would be better maintained by the city of Dallas and/or the society that oversees it.

Sad place to be because of the history behind it. God rest your soul JFK. You can see the the memorial set up, pound, pictures and marked location where it all happened. The building where the shot was fired is clearly visible with a cracked window. ๐Ÿ™

It was surreal to see this spot, and yet it seems so normal as a part of the city. A traumatic day in American history that is a must see. Itโ€™s very simple. The museum is a lot more in depth, but if youโ€™re simply wanting to see where it happened without paying entrance fees - this is the place to come.

Super cool. 10 hour layover at greyhound, so we walked around town. Never thought I'd sit here. I am. Cool place to visit.

An historic site in Dallas, no point going to the museum but definitely stop by the memorial. Walk around and read the signs detailing the events of JFKโ€™s death. Right in downtown Dallas.

Being able to view the spot where one of our most beloved Presidents was assassinated is a somber experience. Such a sad day in our nationโ€™s history. The road still has traffic flying by so you have to be careful when trying to capture your photo of the memorial and the X on the road where he was shot.

Dealey Plaza. Lives on in infamy, just as the day the assassination happened. For me the visit raises even more questions. I do not believe that Oswald acted alone, perhaps didn't even pull a trigger. Why would he wait for the parade to turn and move down elm where his target is smaller. Logic dictates that he would have shot at the President as the car moved toward him on Houston. I do think it is very well worth the visit to spend a couple of hours here. I am glad I did so. It all seems very much the same as I am sure it did on Nov 22nd, 1963. This is a spot where evil was able to prevail.

It was kinda surreal to see the area it happened. The homeless people there are wild and there was a pretty aggressive "tour guide" that tried to almost guilt trip us into taking a tour that wasn't really needed. I recommend seeing it if you are there.

Thereโ€™s not much to see here but the historical significance of this area is well worth the visit especially with a knowledgeable tour guide.

There are quite a few memorials to JFK in Dallas. This area has quite a few signs with a lot of information. Be aware there are one or two hawkers around with their own newspapers, journals who will let you read but then ask for $5 I would recommend an official guided tour of Dallas

The street where JFK was assassinated I believe uses white paint to mark where he was killed. My sister made a good point to mark the area with the presidential seal or something more special to signify the spot of an important historical figure that was lost there.

Shockingly sad and fascinating. I think I saw somebody lurking in the shadows. If you were 10 years old or more in 1963, or love history, the museum and location in Dallas is an absolute must. Reasonably priced @ $16 for senors. Wow!... and worth every bit of the price. $10 to park. Go see this.

It was interesting to see the place for historical perspective. But that's about all the draw to it. It's a pleasant grassy triangle where an America president was unfortunately assassinated decades ago.

I went around 1030 at night because I was driving through. Not as hot, and very few cars, if you're wanting pictures in the x's. Very somber experience. Easy to make jokes and take it lightly, but just remember someone was murdered here, give that the respect it is due.

It is not a huge memorial or anything but just being there is strange.

Dealey Plaza is a site of multiple historic occurrences, most notably JFK's assassination. It's great that they include plaques with information regarding the historical significant events, as well as in-depth explanation surrounding the events of JFK. It even has a plaque of one of JFK's quotes. It's kept clean, well-maintained; definitely a place to see because of the historical significance and education from the area.
