If you want to experience a 5 star service at 3 star cost this is the place you need to go ,from check in to check out we got a good service and staff is very friendly.Environment is facinatinng with natural beauty and birds.Rooms are clean and tidy.you can have a hot water shower bath in the room.Pool is located in the out side to feel the natural beauty.Foods are good when comparing with 5 star menus 🙂.Thanks for Mr.Ranjith and Hotel owner Mr.Perera for the great service and everything we experienced. Went there based on google reviews and was pleasantly surprised with the entire experience. Hotel is located in serene environment, clean, and is well maintained. The staff was super helpful, welcoming, and looked after us during the 3 night stay. Manager, Ranjith was really helpful from the time of booking to checkout, providing all the assistance you could ever wish for. The food!!! Food was the real highlight of the stay. Breakfasts, lunches were real authentic Sri Lankan cuisines with great taste. And the hotel arranged a nice candlelight dinner without us even asking for one. Will definitely go again when we are back in the country.

Wonderful hotel in the middle of nature, very peaceful and quiet. The staff is very friendly and make you feel right at home. Limited meals to choose from but very well prepared and tasty. The hotel is located near must-see places in Sri Lanka, worth your stay.

We loved our stay at Athena Lake! We had a family room which was huge, especially the bathroom. Everything was spotless clean and the owner and staff were outstanding. We enjoyed the fantastic dinner in the great garden and the pool was very clean, too, so wonderfull for a little swim. My tipp: in the early morning walk through the beautiful garden and just sit on the lake and enjoy nature!

Great place to relax! Pure nature, friendly staff and delicious food :) We had amazing dinner, better than in the city restaurant (Srilankan curry and grilled tuna) People are helpful and friednly :) We were with small child.

We have spent 2 weeks in Sri Lanka in five different hotels, and Athena lake hotel was my favorite! The staff is super nice and polite. A friendly couple manages the hotel whit whom we had some nice conversations. They treat their guests amazing! The hotel is situated in « the middle of nowhere » and has only 10 bedrooms, thus it is really calm. What a pleasure to hear the sounds of nature all day long. It is true that the wifi connection is not great, but it was perfect to reconnect with nature and focus on each other. We can’t complain about the food either, it was delicious! The chef picked up fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden every day. Thank you for this great experience, hopefully we will come back one day!

Calm location. Homely experience. Good value for the price. Limited guest accommodation makes it safe of covid19. Nice pool. A great natural lake view behind the property. Extremely good service by the staff and manager Ranjith.

Lovely place to stay for holidays. The prices are very reasonable. The staff is very friendly and the way they treat the customers is appreciable. I have never seen such a great service from any other hotel in the region. 100% recommend

We stayed overnight at this beautiful place by the lake. The staff was so nice and prepared the meals we wanted. Great service. However, getting there can be tricky. Google maps might take you through a small road. Avoid that route. There's another road which is quick. Follow the hotel sign and you'll get there.

2nd n 3rd October 2021 we were there... Place is good... Nice view... Good location.. But rooms aren't clean n there were no basic requirements like soap... We have to request many times to get water bottles.. Food also not that much tasty..

Great Place to relax and enjoy while you travel. Mr. Thusitha (owner), Mr. Ranjith (Manager) and all the other staff are very friendly and supportive. I went with my family and enjoyed a peaceful stay with great food. Would reccommend Athena as one of the best and peaceful boutique resorts away from the city around Sigiriya and Dambulla.
