The home cooked lunch was probably the best feature of the tour. Ok it's probably not a real village tour as you come to realise that most of the things you see are specially constructed for tourists. Having said that this doesn't mean it's wasn't a fun experience. You start by taking a Bullock ride to the river where you are transfered to a small boat that takes you to a village where some local lady cooks for you . You realise that irrespective of whether this is a tourist attraction or not the food ingredients are from their actual garden and this definitely shows in the quality of the food. Everything is so fresh and full of flavor! I generally don't eat papaya cause I thought it was hard and sour but their papaya was as if I was eating a whole different fruit! Rice and curry is made on a wood burning stove (no electricity). Overall I think this is an experience you shouldn't miss . You also realise that there is a much simpler life than the one we are used to in big cities. That alone was worth the visit - the authentic fresh food was just an added bonus!
