Horrible experience. Management is not co-operative at all. Worst service ever. Buffet was a total chaos. Not a good selection of food options available. Saw a foreign family eating raw bananas for dessert at the dinner. Checked in by 2pm, had to wait until 3pm to get rooms. Rooms were not what we were shown with the photos so we had to wait until around 5pm but with no positive outcome. Check-in day was totally wasted by the hotel. Do not get fooled by the beautiful photos uploaded by the hotel. This is not the place to have a good vacation. We paid Rs. 48,000 for 6 people & it was not that cheap considering the options which are wayy better. Stay was ruined, food was inacceptable. Pool was with too much chlorine. Only good thing was the beds & the minor staff that were friendly. Owner did not answer the phone after we paid in whole. Yes you have to pay in full when you check in! Who does that? We stayed back for 1 night in the property , Our experience was really bad Rooms are dirty , hand shower was broken, small rooms , food was bad We were told there are only 1 option for vegetarian but an other couple who we spoke to told us them cooked rice and dal for them. One of the person served us a chilly sauce we asked me 3 times to make sure there is no fish or prawns or any meat in it he said it’s just chilly nothing else I took a small bite and I was sure it was not just chilly on rechecking again with the main guy who were handling orders he said there was prawns in it!!!! HORRIBLE SERVICE !!! Expect for the location there is nothing good in the hotel. Completely not worth the money!!!

First of all, we would like to say we booked the hotel based on the reviews and after the first discussion with the hotel. Later we realized there was a significant gap between what we experienced and what was on the internet. Be careful about the reviews, seems not real. Simply we would give the following ratings for the hotel. Value for money – 2 out of 5 (Rate is fine if they provide value for what we pay, but the benefit was low.) Food – 1 out of 5 (They arranged a buffet for dinner and breakfast, but the varieties are very limited and we had no choice other than to eat. And most of the food items are not tasty that much. Breakfast was somewhat ok compared to the dinner) Room condition – 4 out of 5 (We booked a family room on the top floor. The room condition was good. In the family room, there were connecting rooms. The square feet amount was not adequate in one of the connecting rooms. There was no wifi in the property. Once we requested only they arrange the wifi) Room amenities – 2 out of 5 (They did not arrange adequate water as per the number of guests. And we faced difficulties when we make the morning tea since there were 3 cups for 7 guests. Once we requested only they arranged water bottles, but no cups) Service and staff – 4 out of 5 (The staff was friendly and ready to serve you well. They apologized for what we experienced during our visit even) Hope the hotel will improve those things.

Situated at a convenient location and is surrounded by a good natural environment. Facilities are decent and clean. The food is very appetizing as well. My only complaint is that the changing area of the pool is somewhat rundown. However the pool itself is really good and well maintained.

This hotel was absolutely perfect for our stay. The bedrooms, dining area, balcony and swimming pool were so beautiful and clean. The pool was at the best temperature and so lovely to swim in. The hotel staff went above and beyond for anything you asked and gave us advice and recommendations, and arranged transportation for us. The double bed was big and comfortable. We had half board and the set menu had good options to choose from. It is walking distance to the golden temple and a short ride to the famous rock. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating of our dietary restrictions. We had to leave early at 8 so they even packed our lunch for us. The morning breakfast buffet was really good too. They can add some lights to the swimming pool to help with the darkness but overall, we felt very welcomed and happy with our stay. Excellent!

It was a nice experience to stay here. The rooms were spacious and bathroom too. We had a nice view of poolside. The pool area also quite and nice. The rifel shooting session was a nice experience to us. The staff was helpful but we had to carry luggages halfway as the staff was quite slow. The welcome drink was tasty. The food was tasty and had quite a few items. The sea food fried rice and pasta in dinner was delicious. The breakfast also tasty. The only issue is the desserts were limited. Only fruits and ice cream or curd. Could improve the dessert table with some delicious puddings. Overall it was a nice experience and the hotel also was a nice place.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sigiriya Kingdom Gate Hotel. Very nice Hotel with warm hospitality. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. staff was so helpful, kind, and supportive. The room was comfortable & clean. the Food was very delicious! In specially I want to say that Mr. Priyantha who is the Resident Manager of the Hotel did a great job. very supportive. Always has a smile on his face :) Very humble & kind person. Literally, He is a good manager. We had a memorable stay! Thank you for everything!

Awesome place to stay! Rooms are really tidy and spotless. The hotel's garden area is beautiful and peaceful. It's such a calm and relaxing spot. The staff is incredibly friendly and provided excellent service from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious. Definitely a worthwhile expense

Hotel pool was great and rooms spacious with lovely view. The negative was food is not palatable. Hosts are great but can improve the quality of food. Thanks to the huge icecream jug that filled our empty tummies.

It was a a great location and stay all in all. If not for Rane (Restaurant Manager) our stay would have been not livley and enjoyable as it was. He made us feel like it was a second home and attended to all our needs and required even though it was not in his scope and job role. Hats off to him and the team that supports him in the day to day operations of the hotel. All the best for the further development of the hotel and it's staff and hope to see you soon.

I recently stayed at here and had an outstanding experience! The staff, everyone were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable even my travel plans got cancelled due to bad weather while the stay. The room was spacious, clean, and tastefully arranged. The hotel's balcony giving breathtaking view, making it a perfect spot for relaxation. The Sri Lankan breakfast buffet had a taste like home, catering to various preferences for lunch & dinner. Overall, Sigiriya Kingdom Gate Hotel providing a warm service and a memorable stay. Positives - Location, pool Negatives - Restaurant staff are unprofessional. There is no buffet as shown in the pictures (at least during the time we stayed). Food options are limited, unorganised staff. The bathroom commode was shaking, hot water was turned on after asking. Basically there is a lot of scope for improvement. Average place to stay for someone who is looking for a comfortable vacation.

Every one of the staffs were so nice and welcoming. Felt at home. Kausalya, the front desk staff was so helpful and everready to assist. Wasantha brought me my pants to which I forgot upon check out. Restaurant staffs were very nice. Excellent!! Keep up the good work.

The manager and other employees are very friendly people. I highly appreciate their hospitality. We participated in the national independence celebration from here. It was very well prepared by them. Dinner and breakfast were very good.

I thoroughly enjoyed my three nights at the Sigiriya Kingdom Gate hotel. Every member of staff was cheerful and helpful. It was very good value and I would definitely recommend it. Within walking distance of the amazing Dambulla Cave Temples and a good base for Sigiriya (Lion Rock) and though Pollonaruwa was a bit of a trek it was still doable in a day from the hotel. The pool was warm and cleaned meticulously every morning. Many thanks to all at the hotel. Recommended

I stayed here for one night. The location was amazing, right near the town with beautiful views. The staff were allround amazing and very welcoming. They helped to organise transport at 5am to nearby Sigiriya at a reasonable price. The breakfast was also great. Would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Sigiriya Kingdom Gate Hotel while exploring the sites each day. Wonderful service from the entire staff including Pasand, Priantha, Aruna who always checked in on us, kept our room super clean and arranged our delicious meals..! We had a beautiful large room with huge patio and enjoyed swimming in the pool and listening to the many birds each day. Thank you from our entire family..!

We stayed here as a family for a night and found the hotel run down and could do better w.r.t maintenance and decor. Disappointed with breakfast and meal option which was frugal with a bare set menu. The family room was spacious and had an equally spacious bathroom but was on the 2nd floor without lifts. The amenities in the room could be better, there was a cheap kettle provided that heated the entire body and one of my kids had a burn trying to use it for warm water. The bathroom walls had holes all over and were patched with a gel stuck all over that looked shabby. The toiletries were limited to only soap and shower had very poor flow of water. There were a large group of noisy guests that checked in with their own blaring speakers and music played past 930 and the hotel staff did not intervene to check this till it was complained. The pool was good but again no rules on guests for a proper swim attire or limits on eating and drinking on the premise. Overall, this place did not match the value it provided for the high cost.

Great restaurant experience - a must to visit We picked this hotel to have dinner and were extremely satisfied. The food was the best we had so far on our trip. The portions are big and yummy and the main dish was served by the chef who took some time to explain us the ingredients and answer our questions. The chef speaks good English and also some German and knows what the Western tourists like. All of the staff members we met were extraordinarily friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. At the time of our visit the restaurant was not full so we had time for fun, selfies and good conversations with the motivated staff. It was an amazing experience. The hotel lies in a quiet neighborhood in walking distance to the golden temple. It makes it the perfect stop to have lunch or dinner after visiting the cave temple. We give this place 6 points. ;)

Outstanding performance by the staff. Every single one of the employees was welcoming, friendly and wanted to help you with all our requests. We stayed for 3 nights with lots of questions, requests about vegan food, etc. Not only did they help us immediately, they also made sure we don't have to take care of anything. All of that for a very good price! Rooms were good, yet the bathroom was not as clean as we are used to in Europe. I have to admit that this is a common issue in Sri Lanka so nothing to worry about. The food and especially the restaurant manager were amazing! Location is also great because it's a little outside of Dambulla. Therefore it's very quiet within beautiful nature. You can arrange trips to everywhere starting from your hotel for a very good price, selecting the level of comfort upon request. (Walking, Tuk Tuk, Private Driver, etc.)

A beautiful hotel with very nice location. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. Ashen and other staff was so helpful, kind and supportive. We had great meals during our staying. We recommend this hotel to anyone. ( We forgot one of our small bag at the hotel Ashen immediately stepped in to help us and sent it back to us. Huge thanks to him)

The rooms are okay, but during our 3-days stay the pool wasn’t cleaned at all, I had to ask for cleaning the sun beds and unfortunately the waiter didn’t speak English very well so e.g. we received 4 breakfasts instead of 2. What is more, they were painting walls in the common space, so we had to smell the paint and there were noises because of the renovation (: On the other hand the man responsible for hotel was super helpful and he organized the scooters for us.

Highly recommended this place. Value for money. This is not 5 star hotel. This is kind of like motel vibe. But everything is good. Everything closed by. Booked through Booking.com. They offered us a better option. We stayed for 3 nights. Customer service is excellent. I want to highlight two of the workers. I couldn't get the name he was serving us. He's a young guy. Working in buffet area. He always comes and asks us how is everything. Also Priyantha working in buffer area.He's also very nice. Very professional. Keen to listen. Thank you guys.

Great location with the most friendly personal that i've met on Sri Lanka. As for me good price/quality. Fantastick food. Its 30 mins to Sigiriya. They helped us with trip to Sigiriya( with really good taxi price, that is lower then Uber). We are really happy that visited this hotel

We arrived from Australia and initially dealt with Roshen and immediately received superb service with my reservation. The hotel was quite busy at the time of arrival, however we received instant and high quality service from Ishan, Priyantha, Summith and Wasantha. Despite how busy they were, we received anything we requested under five minutes, special thanks to Priyantha and Summith for the exceptional room service and hospitality. The general hospitality and friendliness of this hotel is very high and I would recommend staying here.

Very cosy atmosphere, staff is extremely friendly and caring. It felt like home :) Few concerns: - Pest control is much needed. - Rooms could be cleaner and better furnished. - Bathrooms need maintenance.

The room was very pleasant, it was cozy and clean. Breakfast and Dinner was excellent and incredibly varied. The hotel team has always been friendly, patient and helpful. That impressed me the most.

Very nice hotel with warm hospitality. The staff were nice and helpful. Food was okay, when we had our breakfast, we found western style breakfast better than Sri Lankan style. Our Sri Lankan style breakfast had too much salt to it. Maybe the chef made a mistake that day. To be seen with other reviews. The pool is nice and clean. Would recommend for new people but I don't see myself coming here again since I prefer trying new places all the time.

The rooms were clean, very comfortable. Specially we noticed that they manage the pool chlorine level very well. And they also have Jacuzzi. We had a amazing pool experience. Not only that you can play lots of fun games and activities here. Like Archery, Air rifle, Carrom, Chess, etc. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Dambulla.

A wonderful home away from home. The staff are a real asset to the Haven, everyone is warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms spacious and the buffet breakfast has a great selection. We used the restaurant area many times as there was always a nice atmosphere and the food didn't disappoint. The only downside is that the bathrooms are a bit dated. Aside from this we loved our stay and would come back again.
