I thoroughly enjoyed the intro class the dojo is a decent size they have a good amount of equipment but I do think it’s a bit odd that none of this establishments information is online. The fact that you have to make a $200 down payment then pay $198/month for the basic package for a dojo with no AC. You have to go through an entire intro class before you get any information. The sensei almost seems like he wants to show off more than teach and I don’t think that’s the quality of a good instructor.

The Best Self Defense Martial Arts School in South Florida. While most academies teach sport martial arts, this school prepares you for real life situations, street combat, hand to hand fighting, defense against sticks, knives, guns, even multiple attackers. While the school is great for everyone, not everyone is allowed to train here. The Sensei interviews you, gives you a booklet of the material that you're expected to learn, along with required books that you are required to read as you advance in rank, and it lists the moves and techniques that you should be learning in your belt rank. If you agree to the terms, and he feels that you are a good candidate, you honored with a white belt to begin your journey as a martial artist. For years I would drive by Bushido Knights Rue wondering what was going on in that all adult school as I rushed home from TaeKwonDo class to shower and get to my third shift job. Finally I was passing by on a night off and decided to check it out. Sensei Knapton greeted me cordially and asked about my experience in martial arts, among other things I said I was 2nd Dan with my own school. I finished by explaining I'd become bored doing the same old thing and I asked for permission to watch and steal some of his secrets to teach my students. Instead he invited me onto the mat, "better to learn by doing so I could teach it correctly" he said. I was paired with students mid to high rank all whose skill were equal or superior to my own. By the end of the class I decided that one night wasn't enough so I joined the class and have been a student with Sensei Knapton’s for about 5 years. Sensei has a curriculum that crosses many styles including grappling, locks, submissions, breaks, upright fighting, elements of Kali and Wing Chun and more all taught in a friendly and calm atmosphere that makes learning easy and stress free. Not to be overlooked is the camaraderie of like minded brothers and sisters and I have so much fun there I rarely let anything interfere with my dojo schedule. My one regret I have is that work has taken me far from Dania Beach and I am not currently able to attend classes. I am looking forward to resuming my training when I return.

The instruction at the dojo is realistic and practical. A beginner is able to defend themselves effectively in a short time due to the style of teaching and the techniques shown. For real world, actionable instruction, it can't be beat. Also, there are many classes with a lot of personal instruction. Bushido Ryu is the only martial training center in South Florida you need to consider for self defense instruction.

Everyone is so kind, encouraging, and patient. He’s very selective about who’s allowed to join and does a great job maintaining a warm, welcoming environment. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending his dojo. He takes his time teaching sequences and really personalizes training based on the individual, their skill set, and whatever necessary accommodations. Best part is, is it’s non competitive. He also regularly sends videos for at home learning, whether it’s his own or videos of you training. Very educational, I can’t say enough about this dojo. If I ever moved, I’d miss coming here more than Publix. That should say enough.

War Arts School , trained with them for a year really solid friendly group of people, Sensei Gerry very knowledgeable and really breaks things down simply. NOTE This is not a Karate Dojo like what you normally find for sport training, this is an adults only War school that trains you for dealing with real world situations, how to defend yourself with maximum effectiveness. Highly recommend for those that are looking to learn to actually fight and defend yourself in a street fight and other scenarios. exactly what I was looking for when I joined.

Taught by a 7th degree black belt and all different Martial Arts combined. This class has a more realistic approach. I grew up in Tae Kwon Do and I started becoming interested in a law enforcement career and I wanted to get back into Martial Arts. I found this place and I'm very happy with everything that is taught and how it's taught. I like the step by step process of how the Sensei teaches. He is very good at teaching, he's been doing this since the late 1970's, so he's very experienced and knowledgeable. He works with everyone one on one as he goes. He also takes pictures and videos so you can see your work, how you can improve, and your accomplishments.

This is the only realistic school of Martial Arts that I have ever been to. From the 1st day, everything is geared for real life combat. The Sensei is top notch in terms of both knowledge and communication and the senior students are always enthusiastic and helpful. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL! I only wish I had found it years ago.

As someone who has been practicing in the arts for over 30 years, I can truly say this is one of the most professional environments I have ever encountered. From the Sensei to all the students you are greeted with the utmost in respect and consideration. The instructors are patient ad are acutely tuned in on all members strong/weak points and know just how to help you cultivate your skill as you progress on. This is an environment for those who really want to learn. I highly recommend this Dojo. It is a safe space with no judgement, just knowledge and skill building.

Best Dojo! Students, instructors and Sensei are all positive energies to be around and that makes all the classes super fun. You learn a lot while enjoying the time you’re spending there and that says a lot. The skills taught are useful for everyday life exceeding far beyond anything that’s too choreographed to actually be useful. I love this place!
