I will probably never go back to this place!! The lady with the red hair that was our waitress was completely rude! The food came out room temperature, they forgot the cheese for the eggs, toasted the bagel and I told them not too my godly friend has mushroom on his bread and he never asked for it.. ughh then I was taking a picture for this review and the red hair lady took our plates away and said you didn’t have to take a picture you could have just said something and now we left and didn’t pay for anything. Also there was hair in my bacon. I did speak with general manager, D who said the red hair lady is Argentinian and that’s just her personality as if someone’s future or racial background makes it acceptable for someone to treat others in a rude manner. They really need to fire her if you can’t handle the heat get out the kitchen (literally).

What a great diner this place is, making old school New York style deli dishes and more. I went with the amazing French toast and smoky bacon for some sweet and savory start to my day. Perfectly cooked, nice crust on the toast and perfect crisp on the bacon. My lady went with what she called a bacon, egg, and cheese omelette on a fresh made egg bagel. Quick, clean, and outstanding service with excellent food is how you earn five stars and other awards, if your close stop by and see for yourself, you will be glad you did.

Welcome to the neighborhood. We tried you out this morning since now you’ve been up in for a week….Loved your restaurant, the store is super squeaky clean, super modern and beautifully decorated, the service was fantastic, your people are so nice and professional, hard workers…the food was beyond fresh and tasted great!! Then the bagels, wow!!! I normally don’t like bagels but I liked yours. It was all insanely good, no complaints. We are looking forward to going back soon, probably every weekend, so thank you for investing into our community. I believe your a hit and we will support you. Good work As with any restaurant they’re brand new they’re trying to find their groove if you see any negative comments take it with a grain of salt because any new business struggles for the first month..I see the place super clean, fresh food, hard-working people, dedicated owners that great you at the door, they have invested their future into this community trying to make this business work. So we will support them.

My wife and I stopped by this restaurant because we were going to be in the area and by sheer coincidence the episode of Diner, Drive Ins, & Dives that featured the restaurant was on the the night before. When we walked in we were instantly aware that this was not the same restaurant. Apparently the former owners sold and the current owner has "modernized" the cozy looking family owned restaurant I wanted to check out. The decor is very cold and bland now and trys to appear upscale in what is not an upscale area. Appearances aside the food was great, my wife enjoyed a Cuban sandwich and I tried the Ruben. Both sandwiches had a generous amount of meat and were priced reasonably. I also tried a order of the biscuits and gravy since it was featured on the show and looked to be a popular item, it was good but not the best I had ever tasted. The service was incredible. Even though they were busy they still took the time to stop and talk and the waiter kept my drink glass full which is a big to me. Would I go back....probably not but it's definitely worth hitting at least once if you're in the area.

A hidden gem from NY tucked away in Dania Beach! These bagels are by far the best bagel you will find in South Florida - price me wrong….. Grampa’s has an incredibly friendly team, a great assortment of bagels, fresh deli meats, Lox and pastries! Stop by on the way to FLL airport!

DISCLAIMER: I am traveling from SC to get on a cruise ship from Fort Lauderdale, nearby. I stayed at the hotel next door before deciding to go here for breakfast. I went with friends and family. FOOD: Most of us ordered the half-stack of pancakes with a side of bacon (see photo). Our friend got the Philly cheesesteak. I can say that the quality of the food is definitely what kept this review at a 5, and nothing less. The food was absolutely amazing and I will be returning to grab a bagel or two. The lemonade looked fresh squeezed (not a chemical yellow, but rather a cloudy clear-white of fresh lemonade). The price was a bit higher for my preferences, but the food held up to the quality expected from price. SERVICE: Sam was our waiter. He was wonderful and incredibly friendly. The food came out quicker than expected, for how busy they were.

This is a very good place to go eat! What a variety of cooked food & deli items, including sandwiches & so many salads. There are pasteries & homemade bagels & breads! The best place to go with a large group with many tastes! I was staying at a hotel behind the Deli, & ran in to get dinner...the best Egg Salad sandwich I have ever eaten!

We went there for breakfast before boarding our cruise. We had a very good experience with service and the quality of food. I highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a decent place for breakfast.

If you ever stop by Dania Beach you cannot miss out on this place. This place was established in the year 1957. This place opened around the same time as Jackson’s Ice cream parlor or I could be wrong. Nonetheless, the staff here are friendly, efficient and polite. You can never go wrong with this place. Do visit this place and ignore the poor reviews. There’s ample amount of parking in the front plaza.

Great food and service. We’re willing to substitute meat because I am vegetarian. Great produce. Hash browns to die for. Food arrived within minutes. Service outstanding ( thank you Kathleen. She walked 10K steps only during the hour we were there…). A must stop on the way to FLL.

We ate here a few times before and after our recent cruise. Conveniently located near the hotel we were staying at. Huge portions, delicious food!

Very busy restaurant - can be hard to find parking. It has been completely renovated - it looks great. There are a lot of staff working but the cleaners who are wiping up the tables bring food for the servers and are easily confused which table they have to go to. Food was fairly cold upon arriving to the table. Food was pretty average - the star was the homemade bagel with cream cheese. We purchased a small glass apple juice and it was priced at $4.99 - we only found this out after getting the bill. It wasn’t the greatest breakfast but was definitely not the worst. I would go back for the bagel.

Kathleen was very attentive and personable. The food was delicious. I haven't been to Grandpa's in a long time. When I was a kid my dad used to bring me here for breakfast. Love the updated inside, looks great!

Had a long layover in Ft. Lauderdale so I decided to leave the airport for some food. This place had high reviews and apparently was featured on DD&D at some point years ago, so I said yes. Come to find out the place isn't the same since its days on DD&D. They have a lot of varieties of Lox if that's your thing. I had eggs benedict which tasted pretty good, but made my stomach upset afterwards. 😩 Seemed to be a place still adored by locals, but I wouldn't go expecting culinary fireworks.

We went for breakfast this place is so cute ! Staff is friendly !! Seating is spacious and open !! It is clean!! Has a modern Diner feel and experience. Service was top notch The options are sit down or take away They had tons of stuff to much to list; I recommend exploring your options They even make food to go and eat as a meal - Bagels were homemade and so good !! They sell bake goods, meat, sides, desert, keishes, and etc I took as many photos as I could. Def worth visiting for breakfast and lunch ! Prices match the portion size and the quality of the food !

Kept it simple this morning with the 2 egg breakfast and grits (or home fries) and a bagel (or toast) for $8 yes, you read that right! Very affordable and the bagel was perfect texture inside and out. The real shout out goes to my server, John/Jon. He was not only kind and attentive, your girl was waiting for a bit before receiving help and he made up for it by his quickness, smile and positivity. Will stop by again.

Grampa's has been on my list since Guy Freri visited years ago only to find out its no longer under that management team. The hostess was nice the wait time was low about 5 to 10 minutes. The service was subpar. There was about a 10 minute wait before a server acknowledged us. There were several servers throughout our meal but none were really exceptional. The customers next to us asked for a plate they never received and they had to get up to get their own utensils from the hostess stand. My boyfriend had the chicken noodle soup which he thought was good on cold south Florida day. They ran out of grits which was my main reason for visiting. I had the pancakes, fries, and sausage. The pancakes and fries were lackluster and the sausage was on the darker side. I had an Arnold Palmer which saved the meal.

Wow what a great variety of home made, delicious food. Generous portions, fresh and prompt. Little to no wait. The place got busy 15 min after we arrived. Although a bit expensive for breakfast, it made us aware of other menu items we look forward to trying. Pictured here is Potato Pancakes (a bit over cooked but good), Kids Pancake, Egg and Sausage and a variety of homemade Knish. Yummy. We wil return. Friendly staff.

Grampas cafe and bakery has very good food and excellent service. Every server checked on us and was extremely attentive. Fresh, fast, delicious meals! No wonder they have been in business so long! We will return! We also purchased snacks for the road and to share. Go, you will not be disappointed! The Coconut ricekrispie treat was amazing!

First time having breakfast at Grampa’s, the place looks like it has been recently renovated, it was clean and organized. Ordered the breakfast plate with two eggs any style (I choose fried ), grits and a bagel, also added bacon at an additional cost, the food was good, the only thing was that it came out of the kitchen and it wasn’t as hot as it was supposed to be, to finish I had the french toast half portion and you can see in the picture that it was a lot of french toast. Forgot to say that there was a complimentary pieces of muffin with butter. All in all it was a good place for breakfast.

Review update* My second visit to Grampa's reflects similar issues to other guest experiences. The service is very disorganized. Our server visited three tables around us 2-3 times before I called her over to ask her if we could have our coffees we ordered. She forgot completely and apologized. My dish arrived 5-10 minutes before my partner. He received the wrong bagel sandwich and again we had to call over a waitress to explain the wrong dish was served. Our original waitress comes over to explain that another server mixed up the order. We waited another 10 minutes for a new correct order to arrive. Very disorganized and it showed on all the servers faces and attitudes. Management needs to really work on this because it really changed our mind about visiting again. From 4 to 3 stars. Original review: Solid revamp and great touch to a needed NY comfort style diner / deli in south Broward. They have a great walk-up counter to order food to-go, just like in the city. The bagels: dense and fluffy with a great crust. My boyfriend got the "Hungry Man" bagel sandwich (bacon, ham, sausage, and cheese) and I got the L.E.O. omelette (Lox, Egg & Onion). Both delicious. They stick with Grampa's tradition and offered free blueberry crumb cake which was moist and thick! At first boyfriend ordered Hash browns (which looked delish) with his bagel sandwich but then saw the fries and had to make a change. This place was bustling and busy when we arrived at 10:30 Sunday morning and only got busier. We will return for lunch!

No refill on half and half as it sat empty for at least 20 mins or more. The order came out messed up ( open faced roast beef) and bloody. No one wants to eat bloody roast beef. The waitress did fix this quickly but they put cooked roast beef, back on the bloody bread. The open face had no mashed potatoes. She didn't write the order down clear enough. I asked for fries instead of vegetable medley. Instead they sent fries and vegetable medley.. had to ask for mashed potatoes then it was like the fried was a substitute. I didn't ask to substitute fries for mashed potatoes. Easy enough though she fixed that too. The food was not like I absolutely need to eat here again. It was recommended by a friend who said the breakfast was extremely good. Probably should of gotten breakfast. We also had a breakfast sandwich that my daughter said was good. The other daughter had the Italian which both looked good. I don't think I grabbed a photo of the opened face roast beef as we were trying to get what we order as well as not eat bloody raw meat.

What a wonderful little Cafe! We are staying in town for the weekend, and Grampa's is a block from our hotel...thank goodness! We ordered an onion bagel with scallion cream cheese that was so light and fluffy and out of this world! Also, the traditional eggs Benedict was amazing! We are going back for lunch, and breakfast again tomorrow! Also, the staff was phenomenal! So glad we found this little gem!

Went to Grampas after living here for about 4+ years and wow we were missing out! Just so happened we went there on their 1 year anniversary and they offered us complimentary mimosas and coffee cake to celebrate! We ordered Grampas homemade chocolate chip pancakes, southwestern omelet, and biscuits&Gravy with hash browns. Everything tasted delicious and the pancakes tasted truly homemade. We cannot wait to bring all of our out of town guests to Grampas for breakfast from now on!

This was an easy five stars. Service was absolutely impeccable. Waitress was at the table when she needed to be and very sweet to us. Restaurant was very clean, tables were promptly bused and cleaned. The star of the show was the food. Garden fresh vegetable, savory nova lox, smooth and creamy smear, warm toasty bagel. Home fries crispy and cooked to the perfect bite, eggs temped by a true pro, and debatably the best sausage links I've had. No doubt will be back and highly recommend it to anyone in search of a wholesome, hearty breakfast. Drive straight past the IHOP and make yourself at home.

I haven't been there for about 25 years. Grampa's new and looks nice. The waitress was very accommodating, and the food came out hot. I found my eggs benedict to be very salty even after the bacon, so I left some of it. My friend gave me a half of her Bagel and cream cheese that she didn't want. It was fun going back to Grampa's.

Good food but way too much bread for the sandwiches. Server was nice although it took about 25 minutes to receive our check after we were done eating we also never got any refills and the forgot to bring my friends toast. Overall, decent food but the service was not great.

Food tasted great, service was ok. We ordered the Dania Dip and substituted the fries for cucumber salad. We were missing a side dish (coleslaw) that was suppose to be with the dish and when we asked for it the waitress told us it doesn't come with it, several times. When we pointed it out in the menu, she then conceded and brought the side to us. Plus we were there a head of others and even shared one dish and ended up being last to serve. Strange.

This was a fantastic breakfast place not far from Hollywood Beach. The portions were large and the sandwiches tasty. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture until I had eaten half! The wait staff was friendly and helpful.
