***READ THE REVIEWS*** *STAY AWAY!!!**** Old lady behind desk is rude and obnoxious! Can belittle and be out of line with guests. But when you push back it’s not ok……this place is a joke. They overcharged for rooms and than if you have any issues if you booked with a 3rd party they say they can’t help you. I have a feeling the old rude lady is the person responding to the messages. You belittle and completely go out of line lady don’t be surprised if guests say things out of your comfort zone. I have never been belittle by a hotel employee when all I was doing was asking for ice. Think it’s about time to retire as you have clearly lost how to deal with GUESTS! Lowlifes….

Clean and comfortable rooms Nice breakfast great breakfast server friendly & a great cook Front desk was sworn not to greet, thank or smile! Never have I seen such robotic front desk attendees Pool has tooo much sand sitting on the bottom Rear parking lot green area is a jungle with plenty of parking space Prices are reasonable I stay often at Best Western but this one is bellow average 4 star because of the housekeeping and breakfast personnel I can’t get over the fact that after no one answered the repeated phone calls I came in person in check in and was yelling for ten minutes and knocking on doors NO ONE was around at 7 pm!? So I came back at eight, she indifferently said I must have been in laundry I’m being generous with 4 stars

Congratulations Best Western Danville VA. You are the recipient of the first business review that I have ever posted. I am a business professional and have stayed in thousands of hotels throughout the country over my career. I have never had such a distasteful hotel experience in all my travels as the one I had at Best Western Danville VA. I could talk about the abundant lack of care by the staff (rude desk clerk) or the fact that the included breakfast was not available. or even that there was no toilet paper in the room, but I won’t. Instead, I would like to share my experience being “Price Gauged” and taken advantage of for profit. I attended the Blue Ridge Rock Fest with my son camping on site. Due to extreme weather, we were forced to abandon our camping and find a hotel. We happened upon Best Western Danville VA. And quickly discovered that they would provide us with a room but only if we were willing to pay 3.5 times the regular rate. Today’s rate 9/12/2023 is listed at $108 per night our rate 9/7 9/8 was a staggering $375 per night. OUTRAGEUOS! Having traveled from Florida and without options we were compelled to pay or sleep in the car. I am all for a business making profit, however feeding off an unexpected natural occurrence at the expense of your customers is quite gross. I am quite surprised that Best Western Corporate has not established ethical business practice to include No price gauging. Having stayed at this property and having been taken advantage of this way is so distasteful and will leave a lasting impression. My recommendation would be to stay away from this place. I can’t imagine anyone has ever had a pleasant stay here. ☹

Rooms were okay, Desk clerk in the morning was no help at all, remained seated when checking out, took forever to checkout and print receipt. Wasn’t able to answer any questions regarding my charges on credit card, pretty sure he was the reason why I was double charged. Seemed like he had no experience to be at the desk, especially with complaints regarding rooms he would not apologize or anything for inconvenience.

All of the staff I encountered was nice and friendly except one. The elderly lady behind the counter was very rude and condescending on 09/08/2023! I tried to get ice at the main floor and 3rd floor. Both were out. I went to the front desk to ask how long till the machine refills. I was greeted by a very rude and old lady that was in the office behind the front desk. She started to yell at me and say “it’s because of the the other guests filling up all the coolers etc, we have no ice and blah blah blah.” I have no idea why she started with me when I just asked a question. I’m not the other people and I was staying by myself. So yes I did reply with a not so nice word to this OLD lady. I ended up asking for a manager which she replied no and the front desk “new employee” was of no help. The manager on duty was nice and polite. I paid over 400.00 a night for a room at this “budget” motel. I tried to leave a day early but was told by the front desk the “owner” only allows 3 nights no less. Complete rip-off. About 35% of the tv channels didn’t work. I understand I booked thru a 3rd party app but this was a nightmare. I have seen someone at this location replying to peoples comments. My username is not the name I checked in with so don’t bother looking me up. I do not feel comfortable sharing my check in name as I don’t feel comfortable with OLD lady knowing my name.

Booked a room with double queen beds a month in advance through Expedia. Get here, it's two doubles. Both my husband and son are over 6'. This won't work. Go down and let them know at the desk, they tell me they don't even have double queens here. Nothing they will do. No cots. I call Expedia, they won't upgrade us or give us a partial reimbursement without Best Western's permission. Expedia calls manager at Best Western, they say nope. Stuck here. My son has to sleep on a 4 foot couch and I have to share a double with my adult daughter. Can't leave, my husband and son took the truck to the race track. Terrible customer service and won't make it right. Expedia offers us a coupon, like I'll be using them again. We've been misled and are extremely disappointed. Update: In response to the owner, Expedia reached out to your hotel and tried to make it right, which your manager denied. You both are blaming each other. I don't care who is at fault, I'm just looking for someone to step up, take ownership and make it right. Expedia at least offered credits for a future stay. Best Western could not give us a cot, an upgrade or any sort of compensation for our inconvenience. I'd rethink your policy regarding this situation because your apologies aren't enough.

Stayed here with my family, this was the worst experience I have ever had. Firstly the desk clerk was 0 help with any issues that were brought up. James Kelly the name of the desk clerk who checked us in while sitting and showed no professionalism and did not greet us upon entry what so ever. Then we had problems with the room and James did not listen to anything we had to say, kept sitting down and ignored our complaints. We had to forcefully spend one night as everything was sold out due to a rock festival in town. Rooms 3/10. Staff 0/10. Most unfriendly staff ever encountered. Reservation was under parents name.

After driving from Pennsylvania we needed an overview night stay due to the long drive. We were unaware of the rock festival going on in the area.We are seniors and the desk clerk would not accommodate us with a lower fee for the room it was360.00 for the night or she said we could drive another hour to find a lower priced hotel and was reluctant to give us the AARP discount. We were so exhausted we had no choice. 😔

Horrible hotel and service!! So we pre paid and booked a room with a king-size bed. We got to the hotel at 11pm. for a late check-in, which seemed decent until we got on the one and only elevator that smelled of urine. Once we got to our room, we had double beds instead of the king, and the room had a strong stench. Thank goodness i thought to bring disinfectant spray which seemed to help a liitle. I went to the front desk to request to be moved and was told no more rooms available, which I thought was odd. It was so late we had just driven several hours and too exhausted to try for another hotel. So we both slept in a double bed, and when we woke up, my husband had bed bug bites on his back. We could no longer take this mess, so we packed up and drove back home a day earlier, disgusted with this hotel and their customer service. We ask for a receipt, and the young lady at the front desk stated we would get an email and continue to read her text messages that was 4 days ago. We have reached out to priceline and American Armed Force to file a complaint they don't even answer the phones at the hotel management office.

Took 20 minutes for the front desk to arrive so that I could check in. Then took another 20 minutes to check in even though I had reservations (I was the only person checking in). The front desk clerk openly stated they had no idea where my room was located, to look for the signs on the wall. When I arrived to my room, I opened the door to find the room occupied by other guest. I went back to the front desk, who assigned me to another room. After opening the door, the door would not latch, even after multiple attempts (over 10). I then had to go back to the front desk to get another room. With all these events, it was over an hour before I was finally in a room.

This place is a joke. Loud blow horn noise every time the room over used the water. Kept me up all night. The pillows were 10x10 inch bricks. Told front desk about it and they gave me a bogus email to contact the manager. Never heard back. Do NOT stay here if you want sleep.

The room was clean and updated. I was surprised the beds were full sized and not queen size. The cleaning staff was very courteous snd helpful as well as the kitchen staff. The pool was clean. My only concern was the way the reception staff at the main desk spoke me. I dont need to pay for a condesending attitude.Someone should remind her without customers your services are not needed.if i need a room key it should not be an inconvenience for the reception staff to help with that.

Service was smooth, area was clean and the breakfast food was good! The staff member Tammy was the one who attended to us during the breakfast hours and she was very kind, patient, and understanding. Will look forward to stopping here again during the next long trip.

I travel for a living, and this is the best customer service I received in a long time . The rooms are clean , excellent breakfast and reliable internet. Overall it’s a great place to stay. I can’t really come up with a negative from this stay .

Room was propped open when I walked in, had to tactically clear the room incase I was going to get jumped. 18 wheelers park infront of the hotel so it’s hard to see. Limited parking. The TV was smaller than any TV I’ve seen in the modern era. But hey if you like 28 inch 480p TVs then boy have I got a hotel for you. The lady at the front desk was okay but when I checked out early she didn’t know or couldn’t tell me if I was going to get charged a week for my stay or a night. Soooo that’s worrying. We will see. The room was clean I guess. Tell me why the pillows are like a quarter of the size of normal pillows? I have zero idea. Also Breakfast was awful.
