If you are eco-conscious and into sustainability,this tree house is perfect for you. I enjoyed my stay and even though I didn't have electricity on arrival,I had a great time. There was a power outage and the owner didn't have control over it but it came back by morning the next day and everything was smooth. She even gave me a discount which was thoughtful and even managed to get me a lift to the ferry from the neighbors. Quite a life saver. Highly recommend.

This place is so beautiful because of beautiful people! Actually they are all artists to me they sing happily they danced powerfully and they eat healthily! And we are in the nature so easy to be silent also! Anyway me and my friend also got many good stuff from Rita I love her personality and her family ! Next time if I go back i will stay longer and longer

Getting to know the Mambo family was a beautiful experience. It started in the Alkaline restaurant of Ras Mambo where he served us with a friendly welcome, the most addictive smoothie ever and a delicious meal. We where invited to Zionzuri ecovillage, we moved their the next day. We stayed for about 3 weeks, too many great memories to name where made. A very nice, wooden spacy room with two balconies between big trees. Delicious-home-made-alkaline meals, breakfast and dinner, cooked by Rita which we had together with the Mambo family. Good fun with the kids. Loads of inspirational talks and reasoning. Birthday parties of the kids, where the whole village did come and celebrate. African dance and drum lessons/sessions. Musicians, artsits, friends, visitors... a lot of nice people around. In no time we felt like being a part of the family. If you are insterested in a healthy, communual, conscious, creative, inspired, ecofriendly, polé polé lifestyle, this is the place to be! Only the time spend with the Mambo's made it completely worth it to travel to Tanzania! We are very grateful that we could live this experience and dream of making it back one day. This ist a realy nice place to stay. The beach ist not far away. People are very kind. The vegetarian food ist great. Mambo ist a realy good host. If I ever come back to Tanzania I would go there again.
