Is this the only zoo in Dar es salaam? Because it is so amazing. Guides are so informed and very educated. More than 20 animal species domestic and wild are available. They also have a special food programme that you can order a day before you go. Carry some biscuits the monkeys love them. Never seen an Eagle face to face but here a saw to a lady and a gentleman. Also saw a secretary bird see photos below.

We started from Dar es salaam city and it was around 40mins by uber. It costed us 25k shilling. Half way of the road is dusty and not paved. Zoo is the located just by the road and very easy to find. Entrance fee for tourists is 20 $ but they charge local rate and that is only 6000 shillings. Guides will charge 15k. Recommended to take a guide as it will help the community, but you dont need a guide to be honest. Only Liions are theire for big five. Many bird variations and crockediles are there. Restaurant provide good food. Visit to the zoo is worth for the local rate, only concern is its bit too far to see such limited number of animals.

Spent a day and night at this unique zoo. It has varieties of animals and nice spots to relax with family and friends. Get to experience and learn about nature and both wild and domestic animals. The Dar es Salaam zoo society is very friendly and helpful.

Dar es salaam Zoo gives an opportunity to foreigners and locals to get close to animals and interact with some animals such as monkeys, horses, donkeys and camels, also providing a dream ride for the visitors. Nguva river is also one of the biggest attraction of Dar es salaam Zoo, providing water and cool climate for the natural vegetation attracting different species of colourful and uniquely attractive birds, butterflies and other natures beauty creations. It is one of the largest zoo's in East Africa hence providing its singular taste for both locals and foreigners. Thanks For Watching! 🙏🏻 ————————

Nicely arranged zoo with a good presence of animals in good health. The zoo is well maintained and all staff are very courteous and polite. Even under current circumstances the owners have maintained the zoo well and very clean. Nice place for a one day family outing.

The Dar es Salaam Zoo offered a pleasant experience, showcasing captivating creatures such as lions, lionesses, hyenas, monkeys, and more. However, the limited variety of animals was noticeable, lacking larger species like rhinos, giraffes, and elephants.

A very nice zoo. They have a lot of animals and some rare animals too. They have two swimming pools ; one for adults and one for children. They also have a place where you can chill beside the pool under the trees feeling the cold breeze.

Not sure why some rated it high. Actually poorly maintained. The nature feel is raw but that's not what's expected from a place which is famous for its flora & fauna. The guide was quite good. Overall just an okay experience.

The tour guider was so informative. Luckily enough, it wasn't a crowded day so we had a lot of time to see each and every animal in the zoo. Guys, nature is amazing😊😍The trees around are cure and really treat diseases.

Had a company event at the zoo...it was a two-in-one event! We visited with 30 children from the orphanage centre and celebrated company's Family Day! We all had so much fun and bonded well with the kids from the centre! We had an outside caterer and beverages cause we needed varieties, the entrance fee is affordable so as the tour guide! They have kids entertainment, football pitch, swimming pool, animal rides, etc. For big groups who need a new adventure, this is it!

Nice place, not much animals and you can see old tradition utensils, clock and many machines. Environment was good and even you will get a volunteer guide. You can give some tips to guide. I give 3 star because the zoo is not maintained well and animals don't have comfort.

A wonderful experience. After this visit I truly urge members to visit and experience the zoo. There has been massive changes from my last visit and there is hope that much more will be done. Cars are allowed to enter which is an extra fee but is an advantage for those who can't walk or those who can't walk for long. Although it's far and the roads are rough, there is changes being made to the roads which will soon be tar which is an advantage to many of those who haven't been there.

We are grateful to Dsm Zoo for still managing to run this place and give us a place to spend some relaxing time with family in such hard times of the pandemic , it surely gets tough to run such a huge place with such low ratio of visitors. The lions looked underfed . They seem to be the main attraction of the Zoo . A humble request to look into their feeding matter . Once again ,thank you and wish you the best .

It is a nice place to visit this zoo but I request the management of the dar es Salaam zoo to keep the board at the outside of the main road entering inside the rough road. Please ask the authorities to make a tarmet road inside. It is very far from the kigamboni bridge to dar es Salaam zoo.

It was very difficult to find the zoo for us .. Even though we went by taxi, the taxi driver could not even find the way ... Roads should be put plates ... The animals smelled. It would be cleaner if they washed once a week .. And the guide was accompanied when I didn't want a guide. We thought it was free. He wanted 10 thousand shillings. İts not a normal tip

The place is very nice , neat and well arrange, there is variety of animal's so beautiful, but the service is awful. Last time we went there there was no guards to show us around no one to ask inside the zoo and we roam the while zoo by our self. The service is 3/10 😔

It was a great day out for the whole family to enjoy. Its a massive place and it takes time to get around the zoo and have kids enjoy the rides + swimming, its best to get there early, to enjoy and chill out. The sign post from the bridge to the zoo should be visible to visitors showing direction to get to the zoo otherwise you can easily waste time try to find the place. The zoo is a bit far from the bridge. I also think for people who come for picnic, should be allowed to brong food as big familys spend hours there. There are no toilets close to the mosque which abit inconvinient. Otherwise thumbs up👍
