This is a great option to spend a few days in Dar es Salaam! The hostel is located near the sea, and a small mall on a walking distance. The main street is always with a lot of traffic, so, be careful when walking near. Rooms are very comfortable and prices are affordable too! WiFi works very well. The rooftop is were you can have meals, although people should not be allowed to smoke while others are eating, disgusting habit. Try the lasagna! It's really tasty!

I think 2 feet wide The host was quite short tempered shouting at guests and threatening to call the cops over a misunderstanding. She gave us a wifi password and then changed it!!! 😂😂 We had to wear creased clothes because we have to get permission to iron them??!!

Quiet place covered by trees. The only sound wakes you up every morning is birds singing. The room is simple, enough necessity (fan, air-con, water heater, shower...) and quite clean. They change your towel every 2 days. It's far away from center but close to the beach, if you come for holiday. Breakfast is included in price and 15.000 TSH/person/dinner with few options if you are lazy to go out. I chose the place as I thought it's social business which supported disable people but when I came, none of them work here anymore. The receptionists are nice and helpful as well as the security guy, Ali. He does not speak English but he's friendly and ready to help anytime you need. PS: wifi is slow, so this is not recommended for people come for work like me. Also the mattress is too soft which makes me sinking (too far) into bed. I wake up everyday with sore lower back.

A nice and welcoming place with reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We had quite a few meals there and it was always a nice surprise (look out for pizza and lasagna nights). Definetly a place to keep in mind when visiting Dar es Salaam.

We spent a week at CEFA hostel and would have wanted to stay longer. The place has a great vibe, a true authenticity and the host Roberta is really amazing. Roberta is a very friendly managerin and she always helps even if you arrive in the night without reservation. For a little money the hostel offers a good laundry service. This place is THE best. Roberta is super kind, the place is very well run and all staff is professional and nice. The beds are comfortable, the place clean, the shower with hot water and good water pressure (for the Italians: there is also a proper bidet in the bathroom!!).
