Visited the kibo cafe at the ground floor. Had a chix pizza with milkshake. It was amazing thou the portion was slightly large it was worth every bite. Service was attentive and quick will definitely be back for more once I get back from Zanzibar

We had a lovely weekend get away here. The room was spacious and clean. Facilities were great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was great. Would recommend to anyone wishing to have a getaway in the city. Make sure to choose a sea view room for spectacular views of the Dar es Salaam harbour.

Suggestions for improvement: 1.The "milkshakes" are not extra thick. It taste like sherbet. 2. kibo lounge is nice, but should have carpet under the chairs because when people move chairs it make loud ,annoying, grating noise 3. Outside patio deck chairs r very uncomfortable to sit on for long time. Must be cushioned for extra 5 star comfort 4. Menu should be colourful, with photos of culinary delights. It should be kept glued on each table. Do not take it away. ( incase guest feels like ordering more!). Please.

Worth the experience as you dine and do other conference events. The views overlooking the Indian Ocean are breathtaking. The service is topnotch and the staff are extremely polite and friendly. But the variety of food seemed limited for a 5 star hotel.

Music and Service (Esther) fantastic. Food still has great potential for improvement. Environment very appealing but still needs some big plants to make it more comfy. Nevertheless, recommendable.

By far the best luxury hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The decor and staff are 5 star! And the management have. Very skill, talented, and competent high level managers. The hotel had a very model and welcoming feel. Well maintained and easy to navigate. Truly I felt right at home, a very luxurious home I should say. The food is delivered with all the bells and whistles. Steak cooked to perfection to the customers liking. And the drink are very reasonable in price with a large selection of quality wines and spirits, such as McCallan 21-25. The pool and bar is classy and inviting to the young professionals. Any day of the week you can find the bar and pool well occupied by locals and tourists, enjoying one of the many live performances, infinity pool view over the city, and modern pop culture music playing. I will post picture of the course of a few days. Stay one day I’m sure you will stay a week.

A true sample of great hospitality. The Hotel has a great location located in town with a beautiful view. The staff were very approachable, helpful and kind. Rooms are spacious and included great necessities. What I enjoyed the most are the different restaurant and amenities that the hotel offered. Great value, highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

Rooms are very good, spacious and clean. Pool and restaurants are also quite pleasant. My only complaint is the service: I've checked in and out and never got the shower gel from room service, despite asking for it several times and even offering to pick it up myself.

During my training with the World Bank, I spent seven days at the Rotana hotel. Believe me, this resort is wonderful in terms of the accommodations, pool, sea view, and overall cleanliness. If you visit Dara es Salam, I strongly advise you to stay at this amazing hotel.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The only reason why I didn't give the hotel five stars for location was because of the lack of restaurant options around the hotel. The restaurants in the hotel provided very good food with excellent service. Amenities such as pool and gym were very nice and kept clean. The standard hotel room was very spacious and I was fortunate enough to have the bay side view.

.I recently dined at Rotana, and I must say, the food was truly delectable, and the ambiance was enchanting. While I've had enjoyable experiences here since its inception, I couldn't help but notice a decline in the number of waitstaff, resulting in slightly slower service compared to when the establishment first opened. We believe that venues like Rotana have the potential to craft unforgettable memories for patrons. Therefore, prioritizing exceptional customer service and overall satisfaction should remain paramount to foster an atmosphere where people can create cherished memories.

Great service and perfect downtown location. Benefits from very reasonably priced coffee shop on site and "Gastropub" on 8th floor (make sure you go up in the exposed viewing lift). Relaxing and calm place to stay away from Hussle and bussle of downtown Dar es Salaam.

Oase in Dar Es Salaam For me Johari Rotana is one of the best kept secrets in Tanzania. Without any doubt far best hotel in Dar Es Salaam. Spacious rooms, outstanding quality of different kinds of food and beverages. Specially, needs to be mentioned the Sunday brunch. Last but not least the staff showing hospitality and kindness, giving you the feeling of a 24/7 appreciated guest. If you need to stay for a business trip or you just want to do nothing and relax. This is the place to be. Value for money. Looking forward to my next stay.

Beautifully appointed hotel; fresh & flavorful restaurant options; relaxing pool & sauna; and accommodating staff at every touch point. There was a mishap identifying the correct airport transfer but the hotel resolved it quickly. I would highly recommend this property.

This hotel is relatively new. The rooms are very spacious and it boasts all amenities. Note, however that the rooms consists of two 3/4 size beds. Should you prefer a king size bed, make your request well in advance. The breakfast options include local and international cuisine. All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is located directly opposite the Zanzibar ferries and right next to the bus rapid transport. An ATM is behind the hotel. Supermarkets are within walking distance. So are restaurants, bars and casinos. When you check-in with a travel agent hotel voucher, make sure that the check-in staff capture the hotel voucher correctly to avoid delays at check-out. Rooms are not fully sound proof. However, noise levels are acceptable.

The Johari Rotana didn't fail to impress me at all. From the moment I arrived, the staff were polite and helpful, the rooms were very spacious and clean, the food was amazing and the service was impeccable ☆☆☆☆☆. It definitely deserves the 5 stars it has. A place to go back again... not the best of locations to be, but great for convenience

It is a 5 star hotel, and they capture excellent amenity and a high level or service. Likely the highest level of service you will receive in any tanzania hotel. The rooms are great, with spacious options for suite and apartment style 105 sq m. If the staff makes a mistake they will go above and beyond to compensate for your troubles. For instance, the hot water did not work in my room and I left it running for 10 minutes and still nothing, and had a meeting so I had to shower in cold water. They compensated with a bottle of wine and fruits which I accepted and was appreciative of. Multiple days of cold water unless it’s running for 15 minutes prior to finally warm up? This is crazy for a 5 star hotel. A major issue is the food here is nowhere near 5 star restaurant food. I would even strongly consider firing the entire chef line. Equivalent to the quality of McDonald’s, from beef, steak, to the breakfast. Completely disgusting, there is no way to sugar coat it. I ordered a medium-well steak but received rare. The cut was very subpar. I ordered calamari, which tasted like plastic. I ordered the burger and it was ok. The crème brûlée was likely one of the worst I’ve ever had. It wasn’t even crème brûlée, it was like an odd pudding with no glaze sugar top and tasted like it was made 5 days ago and frozen then unthawed. Threw it away. I ordered and they brought out “bread and butter” to the table before the meal came, but what is actually was, was 1 pcs extremely tiny small mini roll, which was stale now both times I’ve received it, and it was cold, not warmed or toasted. The butter pieces was custom made with what looks like small fruit or some sort, which was good but it was frozen and straight from the fridge. So freezed butter, on a cold and stale roll of bread, so the butter doesn’t melt so you eat chunks of frozen butter because it can’t spread? They really just didn’t think it through. The dishes look aesthetically pleasing but almost everything I had was McDonald’s level quality and the taste was so below par it was actually shocking. The breakfast buffet had no real options except maybe an omelet and coffee. Very limited and also poor quality. Also, they made me walk from outside the property at the street and didn’t allow my driver to drop me off at the front door because I was in a bajaj. It was nice weather and I wanted to get fresh air and the experience of it, although normally I travel in SUV. This was not okay or acceptable for a paying guest in the highest tiered room and wanting to be dropped off at the hotel not at the street outside?? Seriously crazy. Another thing is that when reception puts you on hold, the phone plays a music tone during the interim. No problem, except for the fact that it’s outrageously loud. I’ve uploaded a video of it, hard to tell from the video but seriously it’s so loud the neighboring room can hear it, and the volume is so at max it’s crackling the speakers of the phone. Every room I stayed was the same, they need to lower the volume of this interim song by 50% at least. Benefits is it’s next door to Le Grand casino which has a great Texas hold ‘em game. They also have a nice cigar lounge upstairs which many local businessmen go to. Great for connections and a very high quality of cigars and atmosphere. Upstairs pool, spa, and great gym amenity. Spa was OK, nothing special. Hopefully they’ll make some improvements to really become the absolute best 5 star hotel in the country.

My family and I stayed at the Johari Rotana Hotel for a full week and we enjoyed every moment. This is truly a 5 star hotel experience. From the moment we checked in, Cyprian, Amir and Nassir greeted us late at night helping us get settled with our infant and toddler. They answered all of our questions and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Going as far as helping us change room because we needed more space for our long stay with kids. Everyday Elizabeth welcomed us at the Club Rotana and provided us outstanding service and kindness. Sophia and Najma went well above expectations helping us order food and setting up a birthday celebration for our daughter who turned 3 during our stay. Not only did they order a cake specially decorated with her favorite color and character but they also decorated the Club Rotana with a Happy Birthday sign and balloons with the help of Shukuru. Outside of this service they were so kind and caring to our kids. They felt like family. The breakfast staff greeted us each morning with a smile and catered to our preferences with out hesitation. Norbert greeted us at the door daily helping us with our stroller and bags. Outside of these special people our over all experience was truly a 5 and every person we encountered at the hotel was very kind and helpful. The amenities are premier and we would come again and recommend to our friends!

The New 5 Star hotel in Dar es salaam. Very welcoming facilities for meetings and relaxation. When there please don't forget to visit the Restaurant on first floor. Fine cuisine, ever smiling and efficient staff (Zaida and the guy at the Ice Cream counter). You feel like eating and eating again! Guys keep up the good service!

The hotel is situated in town with an exceptional view of Dar es Salaam. The staff were extremely friendly as soon as I arrived, and throughout my stay. What blew me away was the exceptionally delicious and generous portions of their food, available at one of their restaurants, Hamiltons. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The hotel also offers a number of amenities, spa, gym, and the pool which I personally enjoyed relaxing at. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Johari Rotana and would recommend you to visit.

In the recent past I've become more critical in giving 4 and 5 star ratings however Johari Rotana definitely deserves a 5 star rating. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and serviced apartments in the past but I've never experienced the level of superb service as at Johari Rotana. I wish I had a way of recording the experience and conversations, it's been unbelievably, surprisingly, great. Amina, Patricia and the rest of the team, Thank you for making my stay amazing so far. Looking forward to writing another review upon departure, but so far, amazing to say the least.

Breakfast is amazing, the building is gorgeous, rooms are huge and the service is outstanding. After just a couple of days stay, Dafrosa knew every little detail about how we like our breakfast. From the way we take our tea/coffee to our eggs orders. Dafrosa made us feel so comfortable.

I spent four nights at this impressive hotel after coming from Zanzibar. Where do I start? The customer service was exceptional, from the day I checked in until the day I left. The security was outstanding, and I always felt safe. The hotel is within walking distance of central Dar if you enjoy strolling and exploring. The room I stayed in was very spacious, featuring a large king-size bed, a kitchen, and a dryer. Although I didn't have the chance to use the pool or the gym, they appeared well-maintained. I had breakfast on the second-floor restaurant, and it's worth noting that this is a 5-star hotel in Dar, so be prepared to mingle with the elite. I even saw two ministers arriving with their escorts during my stay, so security was understandably tight. One of the highlights of the hotel is the art in the lobby and the coffee shop in the lobby area. I spent a significant amount of my time there, reading and working. In summary, the hotel offers great customer service and clean, comfortable rooms. The distance to the airport is about 15-20 minutes, and they provide a shuttle service, albeit at a cost. After being dropped off by the ferry from Zanzibar, it was only a 2-minute walk to the hotel. I enjoyed long walks in the morning, and the breakfast buffet was so extensive that I was spoiled for choice. :) Cheers, BN

5 star hotel and service in Dar. Excellence. It was a challenge to drive to Johari Rotani through town. The GPS directions led me to drive on lanes reflecting no entry. I also had a challenge on arrival to find the hotel public parking, which is a drive upstairs.

This hotel So much disappointing, services very poor. I paid my room with Breakfast in the morning I was feeling weak not walk out to dinning for breakfast I requested to bring it to my room They told me room service is 100% of Breakfast fee. I declined them from bringing so much disappointing. After I talked to so called Guest relationship manager. I requested her to explain to me why they charge is 100% fee for the service (breakfast) I had already paid. She could not explain other than arguing. Services very poor. If you don’t speak Kiswahili you have high chances having everything wrong at any time.

I tried completing their online form to ask about a reservation for a family room. No response. Following day sent them emails. no response. Following day called them - did finally get through but it was hard to hear them - I was calling from the UK. But did manage to check email address and they promised to respond and I sent another email. Still no response. Giving up to try other hotels.

This is a wonderful hotel with nice rooms and great views of Dar-es-Salaam, whether you stay in a sea-facing or city-facing room. The staff were very friendly. They have 3 restaurants, a coffee café on the ground floor, a restaurant/bar on the 8th or 9th floor where the infinity swimming pool is (only opens at 4pm, allowing for swimming in privacy before it is open to the public) and the buffet one on first floor where breakfast is served. I only got to have breakfast here - had some good options, including middle-Eastern. The gym is spacious and has great views of the sea/port of Dar Es Saalam. The massage was relaxing - spa opens until 10pm. It is in a nice location, opposite the Zanzibar ferry pier and one can easily walk around the Central Business District. Overall, an amazing place to stay, but Rotana needs to move away from single use plastics for shampoos, body wash, Lotion, etc.

One of the Best Hotel Experience i had during my stay in Dar with friends, while i was at Rotana Hotel the Breakfast was Way to the next level! I recommend not to skip it if you happen to be there(it also covered in the room Price), it morden style breakfast and got you covered. The Room was very clean and with morden funiture. The location is a best spot for these who happen to cross the ferry to Zanzibar the next day, though the price might not be for everyone but worth it.

The hotel is brand new and rooms are very spacious, which makes it an ideal venue, especially for a long stay. However, I believe they did not do a good job at cleaning after construction. You could literally smell ciment!dust in the corridors and inside the room when the Ac is off.

Johari Rotana is well furnished, clean, and has great views of the port. The food is also very delicious. The staff are quite friendly, professional, and quick to answer any questions you might have. The TV has cable TV, and I was glad to be able to enjoy my LIVE sports games during my stay, almost as if I hadn't left home.
