Very nice place where to stay! They have a beautiful terrace on the top where you can have your meals. Breakfast is really nice and mostly homemade (which is Africa is a blessing). The owner is a pure heart. They also have a very funny jack russel going around! And a big pool where you can freshen from the heat of Dar. The location is great (green and residential area of Dar Es Salaam)

Stayed at the Fig Tree Residence’s for 8 nights during the 2018 Tanzacat sailing event. Really a very nice facility which I can only but strongly recommend to others. Rooms are new, very comfortable and clean. Great bedding and shower/bathroom. Nice pool and gym located in a beautiful and quite garden. Excellent breakfast on the rooftop. Lunch and dinner available (I did not take any). Excellent location close to Slipway, several hotels and restaurants and for those attending Tanzacat: straight opposite the Yacht Club. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Security is well managed - a safe place. Feels very much as the home away from home.

Beautiful home-away-from-home space. Huge fig tree provides a canopy that covers the main entrance and roof lounge. Evenings in late July prove to be rewarding as bats seasonally brace the branches of the tree.

An excellent guest house with well appointed and clean rooms with strong Wi-Fi. The meals are delicious and guests can also use a small swimming pool included in the room rate. Courteous staff always go over and beyond to meet customers needs. I had a great stay and will visit again!

This is our absolute favorite place to stay when we are in Dar! The rooms are SO beautiful and comfy, with great amenities to make you feel at home (such as good french press coffee). It is also located in a very lovely area with easy beach access and close to nice sundowner spots :-)

Great place to stay in Dar. Quiet neighborhood with plenty of good eating, drinking and shopping options nearby. The hotel itself is great: very tranquil setting with the garden and pool. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Breakfast on the roof terrace was particularly nice! I will stay here when I come back to Dar

Set well back on a quiet road this is a hidden gem , good food well prepared, a variety of studio style rooms of varying sizes but all extremely clean and cleaned daily. Small gym and pool on site.

If can't stay there it feels like someone sit at your favorite seat at your favorite restaurant.

Perfect serenity in a nice quiet environment, very close to the road for a good walk. Very friendly staff, they were always willing to help. My daughter got so many treats she did not want to go back home.. Teresa was awesome, she was determined we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were spotless with very modern decor. Food was delicious and affordable, their juices from fresh fruits were very refreshing.. It felt like home away from home. Definately staying there again when i go back to Dar. Keep it up!
