Great park. Very full for Memorial Day but friendly, courteous campers. Nice large sites. Bathrooms could be expanded (another shower would be nice) attentive staff.

Very peaceful. The ground was still covered in snow, but you could tell underneath was mud. This park is known for its mud. Not too strenuous. Lots of trails to explore; especially for those trying to escape the amusement park for a while.

The park is really nice. Not huge, but there are some nice sites and gorgeous views. However the state park police that monitor the park are very creepy. Every night we were there recently, the police officer would turn off the lights, park at the end of the loop then creep around in the dark. They parked our site several times, left their car running for half an hour at least, and turned their lights off and just walked into the woods or down the road. They seem to just harass people. I've stayed at several state parks in NY and often see them driving around to check on things. That's reasonable. But to creep around in the dark is really strange and gave us the creeps. The park was dead silent so it really seemed unnecessary.

I stayed in site #7 for 5 days in a 5th wheel. Electric only but they have many water stations. I was able to fill my water without moving. The park is gorgeous. I would stay there for a month if I was allowed to. I WILL return.

Very nice park picked spot A 14 online did not realize it was right next to a park playset for kids. Called Park and they set me up with campsite B 61.. love that spot. It seems like they need to work on the entrance to the dump station.. trailers kept hitting the curb having to back up and readjust.. the Park did some tree trimming put all the tree trimming in the center of the parking lot and allowed people to pick through for firewood... Thank you for that.. very nice staff at the park.. willing to help out with any situation you might have.. so you don't leave a bad review

Nice, very clean campground except the showers. The water isn't very hot. Not being able to connect to water was an inconvenience too but we knew that going in, it was going to be tough. We thought we'd just shower at the bathhouse it would be fine for a few days but the showers luke warm and pretty miserable. That's why I only gave 4 stars. Other than that I'd say great little park to stay in. The beach area is nice. And the play grounds everywhere throughout the park are a nice addition. There are plenty of picnic tables and several covered pavilions to have gatherings or birthday parties overlooking the water which is nice. The water is very clear for a lake. My dogs loved the water. Over all very clean park. Plus for being close to groceries and restaurants.

This is not a great hike for winter hiking, there are lots of frozen snowmobile tracks to navigate before getting to offshoot trails. The trails, specifically the orange to blue trails, is very muddy and boggy. There's ice/snow cover but soft from rain and melt so theres los of sinking divets.

That's our go too park for short weekend camping. Grounds are kept up well..Restrooms really need an upgrade tho. Manager of the park is a little aloof. Tried saying hi several times but he just looked away. Have met many of the other state parks managers we go to and they all are fairly personable.

The swimming area at this park is incredibly small. The β€œbeach” area is more mud than sand. You’ll need to check ahead before coming because the water is often closed for swimming. The swimming area is close to the restrooms and wooden tables for picnics.

Stayed a night here with my sister. She camps here with friends every year. I found it to be a nice place to camp. There are quite a bit open sites, though, so if I were to stay here, I would seek to get a site with trees. This place offers a small lake with swimming and lifeguards places to picnic and places to walk or ride bikes and a playground for kids. If you are looking for a nice getaway to camp, I suggest Darien Lakes State Park. P.S. there are bathrooms and bath houses to accommodate tent campers as well.

It’s always nice to come over here and spend a few days camping, when you go to the amusement park or concerts. The ladies that work here are so nice and helpful. The camp ground is always clean and taken care of. They fire pits are fun to do fires with. It’s always a nice time. I never had a problem here.

Quaint spot. Very clean and well maintained. There's a lot of wildlife. Seems like a pretty nice place for a relaxed kayak ride.

Nice, small state park. Very friendly and speedy welcome staff help to get you checked in and on your way to your site. Beach was clean and nice. Sites were adequately spaced. I would stay here again if visiting the amusement park. Cons: Water pump by our site was out of order (there were others accessible to us), bathrooms were gross and small (feminine hygiene products stuffed in corner never cleaned up in 3.5 day stay), no general store for convenience purchases like ice or wood, dumpsters were nowhere to be found on way out (supposed to be by dumping station but were not there when we left so we took ours home).

Really busy, but decent and clean campgrounds, no issues, they have a nice beach on a pond, that is also good for fishing, catch and release. Caught a nice bass and a few sunfish fishing for only about a half hour. Only disappointment is I think they need more bathrooms in certain areas and they could use a small general store.

Snow was amazing! Everyone was kind and respectful. Parking is awful.. leave really early or sit in the po parking lot for 2 hours and wait it out. There's only one in and 1 out. No cash policy there .. price are a wee bit high but that seems normal these days

We camped this past weekend and the site we picked was not to their standards for the size of our camper so they gave us a bigger site and checked on us to make sure it was ok. The park Ranger was a great guy as were all the staff in the office. Would reccomend.

Terrible experience. They unlawfully detained my brother in-law who is disabled for floated his inflatable raft in the lake water. The held him in hand cuffs under the hot sun for over an hour. It was a terrible independence. His rights were heavy infringed on. Darien Lake Campground is a sesspool of abusers of power. Don't go here. There are plenty of better places where you will be treated with dignity and respect but definitely not this place!

My boyfriend and I tent camped there for 2 nights and we essentially had no complaints! The bathrooms and shower were a very short walking distance from our site and we had a lovely time at the beach there. People were very nice there and we will definitely go back again. My only suggestion is to have wood and ice available at the main office and to also be more firm on the quiet hours; first night I was up until midnight trying to sleep due to fireworks and loud people around us.

Beautiful camp ground. We have stayed here twice now in loop one. The sites are good and there is plenty of openness if your concerned about trees. Loop two has more tree coverage and there is an overflow area towards the back that is more open. My only complaint in loop one is that the bathroom closest to the entrance/exit has only one stall which has been an inconvenience for me on each of my stays. There are water fill pumps in various spots around the loop (a couple that were not working). I have not used the dump stations, but they look like the usuals for state parks

Sites are a good size and the price is good. They try hard to keep the bathroom facilities as clean as they can for a campground. We have been to this park several times now and have no complaints just keep going back, only 5 minutes from Darien Lake.

The state park campground is well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. Jayne, Marsha, and Patty along with park manager Chad were amazing. The older female groundskeeper was such a sweetheart and went above and beyond her job duties to make sure we felt safe, welcome, and taken care of. I can't wait to visit again when the season starts back up in May. Too bad the camping season ended on October 10. I could've stayed all year if it were possible. 10/10. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
